Wonderful ❤
What a lovely, charming sweet man is Sir Ralph. And his performance in Long Days Journey is utterly masterful!
A class, British actor, character and personality, a diplomatic to the core reminiscent when I hear stories about, Sir Peter Ustinov
Humor, intelligence and good sense--as always. That's Kate!
Thank you so much for sharing this. I just adore Katherine Hepburn. Great lady.❤
I mis her
Wasn't Margaret singer who was a great friend of Hepburn's mother a racist? Didn't she promote the eraser of black people through abortion?
Regardless of Hepburn’s orientation, I never believed she was HIS “beard.” He already had a much better one, his wife and children. Tracy always tried tried to maintain the image of a good Catholic family man and working stiff. The scandal of an affair with a WASP upper class woman like Hepburn would have ruined his career, even if they were both straight. Soon after Tracy finally drank himself to death the story goes Hepburn approached Tracy’s widow and offered to be friends. Mrs. Tracy looked at her and said, “But aren’t you just an ‘unsubstantiated rumor’?” Then she walked away. Perhaps it is just another Hollywood legend, but it is a fact that Tracy’s widow refused to have anything to do with Ms. Hepburn after that day.

Addressing the comments about them being gay and the relationship being platonic: To understand the relationship between Hepburn and Tracy, I recommend Christopher Andersen’s book An Affair to Remember. He knew Kate very well for many years and she told him her life’s story as well as about her relationship with Tracy. It was not platonic; it was romantic for 26 years. Each seems likely to have had same-sex relationships in their lifetimes, especially Kate, but there is evidence Tracy did as well. That said, both also had an extensive list of romances with partners of the opposite sex. The idea that they were each other’s beards is not based in reality, and also would make no sense considering that Tracy remained married to his wife Louise throughout the affair, and only those in Hollywood knew of the affair because Tracy and Hepburn went to great lengths to conceal it from the public. Tracy didn’t need a beard because he had a wife. Hepburn didn’t need a beard because she didn’t care what people thought of her sexuality. Hepburn understood Tracy, his demons, and his violent alcoholism in a way that no one else did, and that was one of the things that made the relationship work.
Thank you.
Original. Brilliant. Beautiful. Fierce & fascinating.
Lei e Spenser Tracy erano.i.miei.attori favoriti anche se Io molto piccola mio padre me li fece amare ❤❤❤❤❤
Her long time lover falls dead in the home that she shared with him and she calls his WIFE, who comes over to take care of the arrangements. This “modern” relationship was way ahead of its time.
They were just friends, and a cover story for being lesbian and gay.
Why were they sleeping in opposite sides of house?
Because they were both gay.
They loved each other platonically. Both of them were gay.
Contrary to comments here, they were not platonic. They had a 27-year romantic relationship. Did they both have same-sex partners in their lifetime? Kate, very likely. Spencer, likely. As for Kate sleeping in a different room, Spencer had a terrible decades-long battle with insomnia.
Maybe he snored.
@@theelvisguru9490He had a wife and kids. Even assuming he was gay, which is possible, he did not need her as a ‘beard.’
No one knows the future. The future is reaching out to the unknown.
She thought reaching for the unseen was odd. I respect her views. I was taught we walk by faith not sight. There's another interview where KH is talking about Jesus kindly.
Stay and listen to the creepy music.
Thank you so much for uploading this!! I can't watch this movie anywhere! Saw it years ago on TV and it's one of my favorite Christmas movies!!

They had sperate bedrooms because they were BOTH gay.
❤️❤️❤️

...simply amazing.Both !💕
That car is beautiful and she would have driven better than that.
No, that is exactly what she would have driven. This woman would have been upper middle class. Her father was a judge. They wouldn't have been rich. A woman of her age, in those years wouldn't have cared about flash. As a matter of fact, she would have thought it was ghosh, tacky, and loud to be in a flashier car. Her father probably drove a Buick roadmaster in the 1950s. I don't think people of today understand what Buick meant to Middle class Americans in the 20th century.
Richardson is sublime. Look how those staring unblinking eyes shine!
I wish we'd hear more about her parents. She always refers to them so admirably and talks about their deep commitment to social causes. Her mother's CV usually stops at the suffrage movement and rarely at Planned Parenthood, but never farther. Mrs. Hepburn was involved with the CIO, the radical union that broke from the AFL in the 1930's as well as other organizations through the 1940's. These are never mentioned. I hope someone digs into those letters Schuyler Grant donated and pulls from more information about this.
Thank you so much, as always, for sharing!!
You're welcome, Timmerjax.
Thanks for sharing.
Her 20th Deathday is in 9 days. I certainly won't upload on June 29th so this is already my tribute and memorial for her on her 20th Deathday. My condolences for her family even after 20 years. R.I.P. Katharine Hepburn.
How horrible.
I grew up listening to these stories read by her and still have the tape somewhere ❤
Beautiful man. I remember the tray scene in Greystoke
Happy Heavenly Birthday to my idol.
