This summer I had the opportunity to do some drone flights in 7 different locations of the Bosque along the Rio Grande, NM. It was very fascinating how different these locations were even though they were all along the Rio Grande. The Bosque is the perfect playground for a drone pilot. Let these flights soothe and relax you! Location 1- 0:00 Location 2- 5:13 Location 3- 15:09 Location 4- 26:02 ...

very cool
Thank you!
That was such a mesmerizing and peace filled journey through those beautiful trees with the blue sky backdrop. Thank you for sharing :)
No prob, thanks for watching!
Stick yo tye left side going up. There is a series of airy 3rd/4th ledges to summit
Awesome, thanks for the tip!
I know this video is about a year old, my gf and I are looking to do this but we’re driving in from CO so we’ll have a late start. Were there campsites along the trail that could be used if we can’t make it to the lake when we get there?
Great question, dude! Your best bet would be camping close to the parking lot area (as you saw in the beginning of the video). There weren't a whole lot of spots along the way. Another would be the Cowles Camp area on the same road. This is also close to the parking area. Hope that helps
I may be moving to NM next year for a great job opportunity and am always blown away by both the beauty and variety of the geography and how uncrowded everything seems. Love the content dude!
New Mexico is the most under-rated state in the union. Been here for 3 years now.....the under-crowdedness cannot be overstated.
Thanks man! Right on that's cool. The terrain out here is very diverse. Mountains, forests, deserts, lakes... it's all here 🤙
Blazing beauty.
Agreed!
Absolutely beautiful area. ❤
It's amazing out there! That mountain range is a gem
The music is totally mismatched for this video....
Haha, I was trying something new. You win some and you lose some
Great video as always, hope you are feeling 100% soon. Have a blessed day.
Thank you sir! I am feeling much better now. Thanks for tuning in 👍
I’m pretty familiar with that whole area. I go down there often to explore. How did you get to the trailhead? I tried accessing the north side of Baldly through Mills Canyon Road, but ran into private property.
Great question! I took Highway 60 to Hop Canyon Rd to the trailhead. Pretty simple, and no issues
You can go through the gates on Mills Canyon Rd, just stay on the road, and be sure to close them behind you.
BTW, I've driven to the cabin at the end of Mills Cyn Rd. and cut firewood up there in the NF, past the private property.
@@jonathonmcmillan9410 Thank you for the information! I got to gate#3 and stopped because of the private property sign.
@@Brian.A.Simmons landowners aren't supposed to prevent you from access to public right-of-way, but they often try to make you think they have that right. The worst is when they put locks on the gates. In that case, I'd report them to the Magdalena District office of the Cibola NF.
Great work man, so far views are just amazing! Such a enjoyable episode 🥾🥾
Thanks dude! The views are stunning out there
My preferred way up Sheepshead is hiking up to the ridge through the forest northwest of Trampas Lakes. It's a bit easier, less rocks, and the view on the ridge to the north of Sheepshead is amazing. Great views of Hidden Lake and San Leonardo Lake from up there, too.
Awesome! Good to hear about other trails in the area that lead to the same location. I love it out there... Looking forward to discovering more trails in the area. Thanks for the tip!
I love this! So amazing
Thank you so much! 🤙
Fantastic looking area man, this looks really nice!
It's a pretty cool area. Great trails out there!
Love the Sandias.....thanks for the ride.
For sure! Thanks for tuning in
We just got back from doing the hike…fortunately for us it was 70 rising to 81 degrees. Stunning hike and can’t wait to go back for a climbing weekend…the drive in was a bit rough, but well worth it.
That's awesome, dude. Very cool area. Yeah, we actually saw some rock climbers on our way back; they were laughing away, having a great time
Super!
Thanks, man!
So how long was this hike? I look online and it says only 1/4 mile but it seemed longer watching your video.... to find it do we just type in Jemez falls trailhead? Is that were you began? Ok thanks for any info!
Yes, great questions! You are correct. If you walk from the Jemez Falls Campground area, the walk is about 10- 15 mins. I wanted to put in a lot more miles that day & wanted to explore more, so I started from the Battleship Rock Picnic Ground. It ended up being 7- 8 miles roundtrip. You can find different trail maps on the Alltrails app. If you enter "Jemez Falls" it will bring up all the different trails offered in that area... some longer and some shorter. It all depends on the kind of adventure you want to go on. Hope that helps 👍
Quintessential New Mexico
totally!
Very impressive! I have seen Shiprock many times from a distance. Never close. I would love to get closer some time. Great video as usual!
Thanks man! Yeah, it was our first time out there and was blown away. Truly majestic natural formation!
Epic! Stunning! This is the best flight and views of Shiprock that I have ever seen. Great job!
Wow, what an awesome comment; very flattering! Thank you, Rick I appreciate it👍
My sternum strap broke first time out. Loved the pack other than that. It was super comfortable.
Jeez, what a shame! Yeah, Gregory needs a serious re-design with that for future packs. Glad you like it tho. I love mine
Beautiful hike guys, such a charming and lovely place! Fantastic film 🥾🥾
Thanks man! It was an awesome trip. Can't wait to explore more out there
Interesting. Been in that area many times. Didn't know about the trailhead. I'll check it out on Google Earth.
Totally worth checking out. It's a hidden gem up there
Maybe I took it wrong but did you continue to wanna use a hiking pack you considered to be a 7 in comfort? Any you rank higher here in that size?
I did. Mostly for the reason that there isn't a "perfect backpack" where everything is a 10. The Pros outweigh the Cons for this, in my opinion. Also, there is a good possibility Osprey have made the newer version of this pack more comfortable. I don't have another pack that is 20L, however, I use my Zulu 30 tons more and it's very comfortable. Not sure if that helps
How long is this hike?
Probably 1.5 Miles. Very easy. You could also take the East Fork trail heading West for more mileage as well
Chevy Chase was right.
🤣 yes
Nice review. Can I ask what size pack you purchased? Sm/m or m/lg? I would need your height though too though.
I believe it's a m/lg and my height is 5' 8"
You are really good with that Avata!
haha, thanks! DJI makes them very easy to fly with. You should get one!
It's an unnatural feeling - this bird/angel viewpoint - but it certainly makes one more aware of the staggering complexity of nature and how bloody lucky we are to be here at all.
Definitely! I love flying at this perspective honestly. There are more cool things to explore at this level than there are at 400ft in the air. Flying in environments like the Bosque is an "amusement park" for drone pilots
Good stuff. 😊😊😊
Thank you!
Looking forward to the ski season. Hopefully I will be able to visit Sandia this coming winter.
@@michaelpeery4826 For sure! There are some great runs on that mountain
That pocket on the INSIDE of the main compartment is for a water bladder or a laptop. Not sure you have that water in the correct spot... and i must admit i caught the mispronounciation of the name as well...lol
Yeah, both pockets could be used the bladder. There is a water icon on a tag on the outside pocket though which leads me to believe that it's the preferred position for the bladder. Hahaha, yeah I know... I let the mispronunciation slip on this one
Amazing footage, and exceptional production quality. 😊
Thanks so much! I appreciate the support
Thank you for loving the soul of your land so much to share it.
For sure! No prob, thanks for tuning in. You're awesome 👍
Excellent. Really well done.
Thanks so much!
Brilliant episode man, shots are epic! Bravo 👏👏👏
Thanks a bunch! I appreciate it
Do you have "bowyangs" in the US? Look it up - it's a protector to stop sharp seeds working down into your socks for transport. Australian bushman item of clothing. Effective.
I love this idea! Great thinking. Yeah, I believe the US equivalent are "gaiters." I definitely need to get me some
❤
Lake Katherine
Not quite. San Leonardo Lake 😁
This looks just beautiful my friend, gorgeous work!
Thanks so much! I appreciate the support
Wow ! Being in the outdoors can be kinda scary I have heard of stories from hunters ! And praise GOD HE gave you wisdom to have the bear spray and your weapon ! Thank GOD HE protected you from harm !
Absolutely, bro! It was an interesting place, no doubt
Enjoyed seeing your experience on the “La Luz trail” ! Thank you Brother for sharing! And Praise GOD for HIS creation!
Thanks bro! I appreciate it; it's awesome out there
How casual is 10-3? I’ve been considering doing the Sandia Crest Trail and stopping there for lunch or dinner, but I’m curious how much I’d stick out as a sweaty backpacker
Oooh, great question! It's casual, we saw people in there with shorts and sandals. Having said that, however, the restaurant manager kinda gave us the stink eye. She also didn't like that we placed our trekking poles up against the window near our table. She asked that we "collapse them and put them in our packs." Probably because they didn't look "proper". Not sure if she was having a bad day or if she didn't like hikers in general. You could probably get away with eating there for lunch, probably not for dinner though. It's a little more formal and you need a reservation
So cool to see you brother and Christin enjoy GODS creation!
Thanks brother! We love exploring the Great Outdoors together
I was always a medium fit, with the new models, seems as though 2022+, I am now a small. With the medium, even on the smallest possible setting, its too big. I have to go small and expand it to the largest setting for a proper fit. Weird.
Wow, yeah that is weird. I've heard of the same issue from other people as well. Hope Gregory gets that addressed
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Definitely epic. Soundtrack?
Much appreciated! Yeah, I got the song off of Soundstripe- "Allex_Black_Water_background_vocals_3_02"
Yo,excellent edition~Epic-)
Thanks a bunch!
