Happy to share, Kazeem.
dude has never had to struggle
Never had to struggle? Do you mean me? There is no excuse to steal your tools. You work with what you got until you can afford better. I still have my first microphone. I keep it to remember where I came from. (And, I still use it sometimes.) If you are interested, check out my studio website to see where I'm from and how I got here. esaudio.com
Thanks for this one Donny!

Question: what is the better option when purchasing a 1081? Neve or AMS? I am aware that Neve is a subsidiary or AMS, but I do see both options, so I'm asking is there any differences between the units?
I'm not sure of any difference. My 10801's are original AMS Neve built in 1972. As far as I can tell from doing a search, they newer models are the same circuit. But, the actual components are probably different today. One might say the use of "lead" solder could affect sound quality. But who knows. If you are in an area that has a rental house. Maybe rent both and hear them for yourself. Or, Maybe I can do that for you. I'll rent a newer 1081 and do a compare video. That sounds like fun.
I've never liked the Pre's on the avalon!! I thought it was just me haha. How do you like the EQ's on the Audient? I'm trying to choose between the ASP and XL desk
I looked at both as well when deciding on the ASP4816 console. I like the Audient chain better than the XL in that it "Sounds" like a Neve but routes like an SSL. The EQ's are very much SSL style.Plus, the built in Master Bus compressor is Very Much SSL. The only thing I would suggest is if you do go with the ASP4816, get the Heritage edition. That came out a few years after we got our ASP4816. If we get another console, I will go with the Heritage Edition.
@@learnprorecording dude thanks so much! very helpful! I'm going to pull the trigger on the ASPHE!
@@officialstryfe Awesome! Let me know what you think. I'm thinking about upgrading mine next year to the HE.
These you should buy, i use mine to prop the door open when its hot.
We are talking about 'Budget" monitors. Of all the ones I mentioned in the video, the Kali Audio are probably the best. Are there better monitors out there? Of course, but for the price, the Kali's are the ones.
Man, you just crushed me. I use my Avalon 737 for bass and lead guitars. I don't use it for vocals, because I can't sing. I had two for stereo recording, but sold one to buy another keyboard.
Yup. The EQ and Compressor are okay. I've got better preamps when it comes to vocals.
Hello, I have the 2-1176 also. What's the difference between the hardware version of the UAD 1176 and UAD 2-1176, besides one being stereo ? Are they basically the same ?
Yes, they are essentially the same circuitry. The advantage of the 2-1776 is the "Stereo Link" switch. That allows control of two channels with the one set of knobs. They also act independently in dual mono mode. The biggest difference is the rotary controls instead of push buttons.
Studio A is Rockin'! 😎
Thanks!
😂the bad just got me surprised because of how the Avalon 737 has been a favorite piece of gear for most pro studio.
I knew I'd get somebody with that one. Sorry, I just don't like the Preamp on it. Maybe it's because of other choices that I have. I don't know.
Nice video but your thumbnails makes it hard for me to watch your videos 😢
Sorry about that. What can I do different that will help with that issue?
@@learnprorecording you can have a picture of the gear you want review and your self together on the thumbnail,I think that can help us differentiate a previews video and a recent video ,I hope this helps cheers 🥂
@@anaiybeatx Thanks! I appreciate you.
@@learnprorecording you are welcome 🤗 and thank you for the great videos 🥂
Glad to see someone else sharing the same excitement. Just got these. 2 weeks in and Version 2.0 of speakers emulations imo are absolutely spot on. For those that don’t know you can actually switch through speaker versions if you don’t like the updates (which is 🔥). They’re on 4.0 as of now. But to my ears they deviate a little too much. Version 2.0 Mike dean NS-10s sound spot on like my CLAs 😭. I have my studio anywhere I go now. 👏🏼
Even though I have a commercial studio that is pretty treated and sounds awesome, I still use my VSX on every mix. Amazing!
after you print the vocals should you disable all the plugins you used to achieve that loudness or what should you do at that point
You should print your vocals as you like them. But here we are talking about mastering a two track mix. But yes, you should disable any plugins that you have on your master fader in your mix before you print or bounce to send to mastering.

@@learnprorecording I’ve just been working on maintaining peaks with clipping and saturation. I’m trying to understand loudness more with even crest factors. Thank you man
Nice overview. I learned of the LA4 from reading about DIYRE's OLA5 kit which clones the gain reduction behavior but replaces the output stage with a solid-state-Pultec typology, which is a DOA + trafo.
Thanks! I really enjoy the LA4's on my snares while recording.

Hey bro what is your thoughts on the coverters on Apollo x16 was thinking about getting one I already have an 8xp is it a noticeable difference? I was thinking about upgrading to that or something else like a Lynx aurora n or apogee symphony
I've got Apollos in all of my rooms. I'm a big fan - I've not tried the Lynx. The Apogee, I had many years ago and didn't like it. But I will say it was better than the Avid (Digidesign) converters of back in the day. I really like my Apollos.
Brand new to your channel and your studio, loving the transparency and the interaction and the positivity. Can't wait to learn and grow more with you!

The Yamaha Rev 5, Rev 1, and the SPX 90 II can still be found in activity in the legendary mobile recording studio Le Mobile, with over 150 awards won and everyone from John Fogerty to Madonna to basically any superstar and many Emmy and Oscar winning movies and series having been recorded by Guy Charbonneau and its team. Those units are NOT a joke!!! The density is phenomenal!
I still have 3 SPX 90's working hard in my studio. And, yes. they are plentiful on used gear sites such as "Reverb" and even "craigslist" - Everyone should pick one up. 😃
