    Lay on a diagonal will keep you from touching the bar underneath as well as giving you a flat lay. And as a “average” 260 lb hammock hanger I can attest I use my Anymaka EVERY DAY. It’s my bed here in the house.

      I disagree. I’m a “average Hammocker” & I sleep in it every day. It’s my bed in the house. (Well… maybe that means I’m not a “average Hammocker” after all.) Why not make your snap assessments from a position of experience? You may just surprise yourself. At 5’10” & 260 lbs.,the Anymaka allows me PLENTY of room for a VERY comfortable diagonal lay. Bet it would give you a fantastic nites sleep too.

    Batteries won't last for long after 3-4 if not kept charged. the best option is a supercapacitor jump starter but the con is having to wait till is fully charged before using. The cons can be left leave in the trunk for very long time w/o degradation to the jump starter and can use a weak car battery to charge the jump starter

    I use my Makita 18V 5.0 amp-hour battery to jump-start my car or help out someone in need. When I pull out my single Makita battery, they're amazed... Milwaukee M12 batteries can also work, but they can't inflate tires. I've been doing this for years without any issues. 🤷‍♂

    A few months ago, I just bought a JFEGWO 6000A. My friend's car battery died because he left the interior lights on in 20-degree weather, and the car was parked in a carport, so we couldn't bring another vehicle close enough to jump-start it. He called me, and I brought the jump starter over. After connecting it and pressing the start button, the car started right up after about 60 to 75 seconds!!! It works great, and the light is very handy!!! Very satisfied, it will be perfect for my boat and ATVs!

    I work at Walmart's automotive maintenance center. One day, our vehicle's battery died, and we didn't have a jump starter available. I bought a JFEGWO 6000a jump starter and used it to start the vehicle. It worked effectively. I kept this unit. If there is a need to jump-start a vehicle, it's ready to go.

    • @gearrecon
      @gearrecon 8 місяців тому

      I'd feel better if you asked if it was on high all night. Portable battery bank and a cigarette lighter adapter would be handy at those temps. 20 degrees would be ok. 10 might be a bit too low.

    • @ImagineGTAVI
      @ImagineGTAVI 8 місяців тому

      Ok, so on high, plugged into power station for 24hr use, would 10deg F be fine?

    • @gearrecon
      @gearrecon 8 місяців тому

      According to what Antarctica Gear has on the stuff sack, 23 degrees is the comfort zone and minimum would be 8-9 degrees. Personally, I'd be ok doing it with some extra clothing on.

      We're all doing great. This year got a little crazy and we haven't been able to get out much. I have 1 campground video from April that is almost done, then we'll get started on some campgrounds we recorded around Labor Day. It'll probably be 1 - 2 campground tours per month until we can get out in the spring. Hope to get back to weekly videos after that.

    the shades opening inward inside from top to bottom makes this tent inappropriate for rainy conditions either for camping or the beach. Although this shelter is only for the purpose of being a sunshade. Now, had those shades been on the outside then it wouldve been able to keep water from getting inside. or if the shades were sealed on the bottom and able to be latched upward then they may still have kept out the water.

    LOL! “Puppy” blanket…I see what you did there! Dachshunds are blanket connoisseurs, so if this one gets Smokey’s approval, it must be a good one! I am going to look into getting one for my wife. She gets chilly in the evenings around the fire when we are camping, especially her feet. Every single pine needle sticks to a traditional blanket, but this one looks like it could easily be shook off if debris got on it while outside. The snaps and foot box cord look very convenient and useful. I can’t believe you can stuff it back into too such a small bag. That space savings is definitely a plus. The only concern I have is how would it stand up to a hot ember landing on it? Do you think the material would give you a few seconds to brush it off, or would it melt straight through?

    • @gearrecon
      @gearrecon 2 роки тому

      Agree this will be easy to shake off pine needles. I could have packed it tighter if I had a clean surface to roll it on. A hot ember is my biggest concern as well. I'm afraid we might get a small hole if one landed on the blanket. We'll probably get a 2-person version of this for the tent and this one can be a spare for Smokey.

    I bought one of these, along with a second camera. Couldn’t initially figure out what the little red tab on the screen was for, but discovered it was a plastic screen protector to remove. Like the system, except it doesn’t appear volume can be adjusted for each camera separately; I’d like to mute one but not the other.

    what is the difference between the urod and floy model?

    • @CampgroundRecon
      @CampgroundRecon 3 роки тому

      Urod's angled side panels have 2 sets of tabs allowing for a wide or more narrow opening at the top. Every other time I assembled it, I would get one of the tabs in the wrong slot and be off-balance. The ash pan on the Urod is big and sits on the ground where the Floy's ash pan is narrow and at the bottom of the opening. I'd use the Urod more as a firepit where you will have lots of ash. The Floy would be better to cook a meal and let the fire die out. Otherwise, you would overfill the ash pan.
