Speaking as an type R owner ( I’m on my second FN9 now and FK2 ) at one point the type R whilst never exactly common on uk roads where something that sold well for Honda but this latest edition was something toned right down for the American market , whilst the old type R shouted ‘ I am what I am ‘ the latest model hides in the shadows with a very bland saloon car shape and apart from the spoiler from Halfords on the boot you’d never know it was a type R !! Oh I’m sure it has the engine and everything else Honda could make thrown at the spec sheet but the bottom line is American means no sales in Europe …. It’s a bland boring car and don’t believe me ??? When was the last time you saw a new type R on the street ????? The move to American sales has cost Honda dearly in the European market as the uptake is little more than zero
