I’ve heard mixed ideas whether or not to change transmission oil, what are your thoughts and do you have a video tutorial changing transmission oil?

@@Michael-bg7os This is the same power unit as the 4th gen Prius' have. The trans axle have no torque converters, steal belts or chains. When you do change it. It drains completely. My 2017 Prius. I was going to change at 200,000 miles. It got totaled at 181,000 miles. My 2022 Prius has 113,000 miles on and I will change at 130,000 miles with the spark plugs just to make me feel good. There are many Prius' with 300,000 miles on with factory World Standard Automatic Transmission Fluid still in the transaxle. It will not be what kills them. If you have the money and it will let you sleep better. Change the fluid. If you don't. The car's death day will be the same of some other cause.

Preacher, tell you to give 10% and go to heaven. Dentist tells you to Crown the tooth to have it last 15 years. All 3 of mine failed in less than three years. U tubers get views by preaching high service rates. 300,000 miles between two 4th gen prius'. Expense ratios this year:35% fuel, 30% maintainance, 35% tags and insurance. OW16 oil is expensive, ATF world standard transaxle oil is not cheap. Today is oil change day at 9600 miles and 64 days after a trip to the west coast and Chicago. I sleep well, and the car will die of non servive issues.

@@TurboJoe304 They come plasma coated the same as the first set you pulled out. Not saying it wont work, but just be careful in the next 100k miles when you have to take them out.

You don’t have to. It’s best to tune though because these bikes run lean from factory.

No oil consumption. Still using Mobil 1 0w-16 and changing every 5k miles

No brake fluid has been touched yet. I plan at 150k miles to take it to Toyota for a brake fluid flush. I don’t have the scan tool to open the abs valves to do it myself. I had it done on my wife’s Prius and my local dealership charged $150 for a complete flush

@TurboJoe304 Wow that's a long time without a change. Too many neglect this. Most manufacturers recommend every 2 years or every year like porsche does. It's kind of strange watching people change their oil often way more than the manufacturer recommends but then ignoring their brake fluid schedule. I'm here wondering why this is the case but the braking system is the major part of car safety.
