Why Dream Theater's Metropolis pt 2 is a MASTERPIECE
Bozzios kit is worthless . I know you're talking kits, but, you.... This video wasted my time. But that's on me.
As a drummer, I dive into these videos. Clearly, this guy has not seen all the cool drum sets. Or has not seen Neil Peart or Scott Rockenfield and Gavin Harrison's drum kits.
wheres Neil Peart??????
"he's not a metal drummer... very light... dynamics and stuff" you're a moron.
"I set up my drums like this because when I was 15 looks mattered a lot." Simon Phillips.
What about Slim Jim Phantom's kit? 😂
Peter Criss' 1977 pearl white honeycomb kit is def one of my faves
Why are your photos and video so blurry and out of focus? x,
Anyone for Portnoy?
you forgot niel peart the probable greatest drummer in the world
This kid obviously doesnt know too much about drums, he says that Mangini needs to use both hands to do a drum roll....pretty sure two hands are absolutely necessary to perform a drum roll. Never heard of Neil Peart, Carter Beuford , Bill Bruford and many others. Nice try anyways , but maybe learn a little more and do another one.
My favorite drum kit belong to the late great Neil Peart 😊
Neal Peart, Carl Palmer, Robert Sweet (80s/90s kit) , Eric Singer
I know other drummers have been mentioned, but nobody is talking about Eric Carr. You can make a list just from what he had in each music video he was in.
Carl Palmer used a custom made stainless steel kit with engravings plus tubular bells, timpani and decorated gongs and various other pieces of percussion in 1973 for the ELP album Brain Salad Surgery ... all his toms were connected to synths that played a particular sound which he controlled with a foot switch ... the kit was placed on a Japanese style pagoda and the whole rig rotated ... it weighed approx one and a half tons and it was reported that one ELP gig had to be postponed because the stage couldn't take the weight of the kit! ... during the BSS tour in 1974 he played two solos during the show ... one with the synth kit and percussion during the track Toccata and one just as an acoustic ... he was one of (if not THE first) drummer to use electronics in a live show so go check his kit out! .... ua-cam.com/video/MgaETQh4uXg/v-deo.html
AVH's "Fair Warning" tour kit = # 1 coolest kit I've ever seen. (the black and white striped one in the video above) It was also the first concert I ever went to. I was 14 and some drunk chick I met in the crowd started making out with me. I went to school the next day with my neck covered in hicky's. That and Al's kit are the two things that I really remember from that night those 43 long years ago.
the coolest kit could not help when the drummer can´t hold the rythim...................
Very cool list. I was wondering if you might have considered Robert Sweet's kit from Stryper and/or the various kits from Tommy Lee (the spinning kit, the rollet coaster kit, etc.)? I think those would be at least honorable mentions? 😏
Bozzios kit was a idea to show off at clinics , he wouldn't show up at jam with this , and maybe do more research , listening on him unless medal is all you listen too
Keith Moon was probably the first rock drummer with a large, unique kit for its time.
Neil Peart in my opinion had the most fantastic kit there was
Danny Carey should be #1 his drum set, specifically the shells of the drums are made out of paiste cymbals. 😂
You have no idea what you are talking about in regard to the musicianship of Terry Bozzio. And you obviously know nothing about REAL drummers. Stop making videos that make you look uneducated.
Seriously, no Neil Peart!! Keith Moon, early Carl Palmer. Hmm not sure.
Gunner Ross of the Almighty Strut from Detroit had a tympani and a 6 foot Japanese Gong he would beat the hell out of at the end of their set
Best sounding...bonhams 73.75 vistalites..u heard n felt them .i did 4x..73..75..2x each msg...carl palmers 73/74...77/78 stainless steel..saw that kit.6x..73,74.....77..4x
The drummer from midnight oil
Poor list.
How about Ray Luzier’s Drumkit from KoRn?! His Drumkit is pretty amazing…!
Dumbest video I've watched in a long time.
WHAT ABOUT NEIL PEART!!?!!
I Loved his Tama Artstar Drumkit from 1981 - Moving Pictures Tour.
Carl Palmers stainless steel set
You have to see Nick Menza's, Steve Wacholz's and Scott Rockenfield's kits from the 80's to 90's. They're all awesome.
Robert Sweet "STRYPER"
Amazing kit
Lars Ulrich 1992 9 Piece Tama Artstar II kit with Granstar lugs in Piano White with Black Hardware.
Lars has simple yet very efective kits
Robert Sweet from Stryper 1989 "In God We Trust " tour
Robert Sweet has a really cool kit. I like the chains holding the cymbals
@@Samureyedrums This is the kit that was on a tall riser completely encircling Robert with 6 kick drums (3 kits)
Vinny appice dw drum kit from heaven and hell tour
Thanks for the recommendation
You’ve listed some nice kids 👌🏽 have you checked out Johnathan ‘Sugarfoot’ Moffatt’s drum kit…?
I will check it out, thanks for the suggestion
Carl Palmer number 2 after Buddy Rich but nobody mentions
I'll check it out
I expected joey jordinson on here
He's a very talented metal drummer
You forgot Scott Rockenfild from Queensryche
He has a cool drumkit
This young don't know wtf he's talking about you weren' even born yet these are legendary Drummers period Fuck You scamming Ass
Cool topic, but you said it in the video...back in the day, metal drummers had large, cool kits. Everyone had their own style and configuration...to do a top-5 or whatever is not enough. Also, please learn how to use the word "unique" so you don't sound like an idiot. Unique means one-of-a-kind...so there can't be varying degrees of "unique-ness" (like very unique, or so unique - it's one of a kind or not). If something is unique it is the only one of its kind. A much better word to use would have been "distinctive" because then you are truly comparing and contrasting. Drummer kit honorable mentions: Vinny Paul, Charlie Benante, Dave Lombardo, Tommy Lee, Neil Peart, and Tico Torres.
It was hard picking them. Next time i probobly will not put them in order because they all have really cool kits
Hey man Great Video! You should Check out Eric Carr's Drum Set. Hes my drum hero and he uses 3 bass drums and has a very big drum set in general. He was Kiss 2nd Drummer and their best In my Opinion!
Hey, thanks for the comment man. Eric Carr has a very cool drumkit
1970s Peter Criss Alive 2 kit. Concert tom heaven ❤.
I'll check it out
only an absolute idiot would talk shit about Terry Bozzio. you're a fool. "I don't dig his style" what a fucking joke.
Mark Temperato
OK!!!
I feel the same about some of the kits you called out. Nope on number one. On both conditions. Many more better drums and drummer them Mike Mangini
People have opinions. What is your number 1?
Nicko mcbrain drum kit is amaizing
150% agreed!
Eric Carrs chrome "power" kit.
