I still call Australia home (mash)
This is a mash of the Qantas ads and an original performance of the song by Peter Allen...I did this purely out of interest as to how the two versions of this amazing song would mash together. This is not my footage and I don't seek any money for doing this. I only did it because I thought it would be interesting.

Rain on a tin roof with black screen. The magic sound of rain falling on a tin roof helps you drift away into a deep sleep.

I have just brought a Kings 3.0kwa generator for camping and backup for the house. I'm no expert but so far so good. It started first pop and ran for about an 45min without issue. I ran a boom box on it and it worked well. I'll be intrested how it hands a full load.

DASHCAM DISASTER
Переглядів 112Рік тому
I was driving to work down the South Easter Freeway when suddenly my cheap Dashcam started smoking then exploded...not good when you're on a freeway...the cabin filled with smoke and I made it safely to the shoulder...luckily if flared out and didn't cause too much damage to my car!

Who is the presenter shown at the end? He looks familiar but I can't think of his name.
Shane Dannet…last I saw of him he was working for DW in Europe
@@zfotoguru that's the name, I remember coming across him reading at ABC too

Interesting Graeme Eddy mentions another channel, a 24 hour channel for the following year. Obviously this never occurred for various reasons.
Back then Gippsland TV channels operated on the lower VHF bands so there needed to be a lot of frequency changes TV services converted to the UHF band this happened back In the late 80s, The policy for aggregation was passed by the government In 1986 with Victoria markets (Excluding Mildura) starting In 1992. Gippsland didn't get FM commercial radio until 2002 this is the reason why TV 8 would have been knocked back from starting new services back In the mid 80s new ABC radio services were started back In the early 90s after all the frequencies were changed.
Good little video! Be great to have more of these!
When you live in Ballarat
This was at their peak
This is grouse .. what a time to work in television.
Great vid, great memories...Don't know how it came into my feed but thanks UA-cam algorithms
Enjoyed the video! I just made a video of Ballarat & Death Valley. Thanks for sharing!
Great memories. Recognised a few faces. What happened to Graeme Eddy and Simon Pilkington?
Graeme passed away recently...I'm not sure what happened to Simon...I believe he went to Tassie...but I lost track of him after that.
Was that 1998?
Can't remember...sorry
Amazing
Hi, is there a chance I could use this vision for an upcoming project I'm making? (with credit, of course). It would really help me!
Me encanta el bosque...los árboles es mi delirio.
que a ti me encanta este bosque cerca de mi casa ...
That's a truck load of dope 😯
isnt gold 1242 and 3trfm in that building now?
I they are...in what's left of the building. I was going to Lakes Entrance for a holiday and wanted to show my kids where I use to work...Imagine my disappointment when I saw what they have done to the place...
9:25 80's babes are the hottest
A very nice condensed version of the history. The events surrounding the stockade are tremendously important to Australian history and our national identity, it's frankly bizarre so little has been done to teach the story.
Cool I’m going tonight and I was wondering are the shoulder to shoulder length between people?
R.I.P It's so fucking crowded
Is it?
Such a shame the building is no longer such a waste of a modern facility.
Used to be a Barry Washington git in the Bendigo media
Barry was also manager at VIC TV Mildura I was living In Melbourne & always wanted to work at a regional station, so I applied to do work experience there, but they were only able to take local students.
Theres a lot of faces i could name in that clip. What a blast from the past.
What year was this?
Lunchroom?! What lunchroom? I never saw, or used no lunchroom. lol. I agree with your statement of "it was an honour to work in Gippsland" Peter. I too enjoyed my time there as a News Cameraman / Editor during 1987 / 1988. Big area to cover in the whole of Gippsland with only 2 cammo's on the road each day, but loved every minute of it. I was sad to find the station had gone when i went researching many years ago. Just another great regional network gone but never forgotten.
So true, If the founders of these stations knew what regional television was like today, they would be turning In their graves, You would know that STV 8 Mildura was affiliated with TV 8 the studios In Deakin Ave are still there, but WIN have now started producing Victorian news bulletins In N.S.W.
I live by Mrs Parry's catch phrase..."The job's not done till the tools are put away...cheery-o"
in 1992 was Vic TV Gippsland news read from Shepparton (with Geoff Vallence) or Ballarat (with Peter Acfield)?
Ballarat by Peter.
how did Mrs Parry not have her own show?
Sorry Peter, found the blurb. I'm glad I can put a name to the voice I heard in TV8 when I was a kid.
Great vid. Who is the presenter?
Barry Washington, he was also the manager at VIC TV Mildura.
Very nice video! I have added your video to DiziVizi. Tag your other videos to DiziVizi for free and get more views. dizivizi.com/video/141870/botanical-gardens-ballarat-robert-clark-conservatory-gillies-st-n-lake-wendouree-vic-33.html
We took great pride in giving Gippsland a voice as TV8. It was an honour to work in Gippsland. I have to say it was one of the best news areas I've worked in. It was a great place to grow up!
How often would GLV 8 actually go live & not take programming from BCV 8 Bendigo?.
Thanks for sharing this. Sad that it's all gone & there's no diversity on TV any more.
It's sad that it's all gone. All those jobs lost due to the aggreation.
Thanks for posting this It's so sad that these stations no longer exist back In the very early 90's I got to look around the studios of STV 8 Mildura this was about a year & a half after It left the TV8 network & affiliated itself with VIC TV In Ballarat & Shepparton.
No... unfortunately i didnt keep a lot of ads from that time. The masters were kept in Ballarat (where graphics were added) and we only had vhs previews that usually went to the client.
I remember the Latrobe Health Services (not Latrobe Country Credit) ad! Any more Gippsland ads Peter?
Should have called Bob the builder! Can we fix it? YES we can! Good job Pete! Those things are a pain. Kinda like Ikea furniture but on a bigger scale.
Most interesting!
Do you have any footage a GLV8 logos promos ect?
I might have on VHS tape somewhere. I'll see if i can find the tape.
Thanks.
so fun!! :D
This is officially my favourite UA-cam vid ever... 30 minutes of unadulterated TV8 goodness (complete with ads) More please Peter!
This was around late 1982-early 1983, when "Southern Cross TV8" was used as the branding for GLV10 Gippsland, STV8 Mildura, and BCV8 Bendigo and 10 Swan Hill.
I might have asked this before but, you have any more old GLV8 ads from the 80s?
20 sec TVC?
I do remember seeing this on the Bendigo TV8 (ie. BCV-8) as well as Gippsland.
