Hi evan happy holidays ❤️💚🎄🎅
I want to have the same unit in my Mustang what size of washers and what size is screws did you use
Tbh I don’t know. I have allot of spare washers and screws in my collection of miscellaneous hardware so I just dug through what I had. The screws I used against the radio and the sleeve were flat top screws. So they didn’t dig into it.
Install the same head unit today on 65 mustang fastback had to grind the sides half inch
Like the new keys and ignition set up.
Thanks!
Another great install video, thank you and please keep them coming.
Thanks, will do! Got some more mustang stuff coming out after the Dana 44 videos I’m working on right now.
Great install video, thank you!
Thanks! No problem
For the low low price of 1,200 bucks.
Also that thing is so dim I couldn't even tell it was on until you pointed it to the camera lol.
I can buy from China a extremely bright light with a big magnet on the base that connects to a car batter for around 6 dollars. This really seems like a waste of money in my opinion. If you feel you need it buy it I'm not stopping anyone I'm just saying for me I don't see the point.
could i use a 9 or 10 inch boss display? or is there no room/looks worse. What do you recommend?
I like the 7” I put in. It fills the space nicely and I have just barely enough room to get my hands on there if I need to detach the screen for anything. Don’t know how or think a bigger one would work.
Thanks for taking the time to do the video, explain and post. THIS is what UA-cam was meant for!! Everyday people sharing knowledge for other Everyday people. I have an older gentleman who asked for help getting his car back on the road so he can cruise to our local drive in diner/ice cream spot.... Dollars in Norfolk VA. Guy fiery did a dives, diner and drive in episode on food network about it... since 1935ish!! This rag joint is one of the things it needs. Sleep well knowing you HAVE helped keep another classic on the road and fulfill the boy hood dreams of an elderly gentleman. Can't wait to see his 67 convertible parked next to my 56 Packard at the drive in. Thanks again
Doumars.... not dollars.... thanks autocorrect but I've got this... 😆
No Problem. So glad it could help!!
Thanks for the video. Can you post a link for those rollers?
Just updated the video description with some Amazon affiliate links. The same rollers I used were not available anymore but it shows on Amazon the ones I linked should work for the 66 mustang.
@@kunertdiy Thanks!
You make it look not easy but doable. Good teacher
Thanks!
Straight-forward and easy to follow. Looking forward to part 2.
Thanks!
Doing mine tomorrow. Gonna look like a champ after watching this.
Went to do mine and couldn’t find the sheet metal screws. What’s size did they come with 1/2” I’m assuming?.
I don’t recall but I looking at my video probably around that size. Looked like they were almost as long as my finger was wide.
@@kunertdiy so half inch works perfectly for 99% of the install. I just needed a few 1" for the bottom section with the curve. Thanks again for this video. Very helpful.
Nice vid. I actually went from the U joint back to the rag joint. The u joint was way too noisy.
@@rayk6049 thanks!
How did you wire it up to work with existing wiring in the 66?
It’s honestly been quite a while since I originally hooked up/ converted my old under dash radio from the old am radio. ⚠️ ALSO KEEP IN MIND IM NOT A PROFESSIONAL AND CAN NOT GUARANTEE THIS IS THE RIGHT WIRING. IF YOU DO ANYTHING DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. AND DOUBLE CHECK YOUR WIRING AS MINE MAY NOT BE CORRECT. KUNERT DIY AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY PROPERTY DAMAGE, INJURY OR LOSS AS A RESULT FROM ANY OF THE INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THIS POST. Looking under my dash I have a blue wire with red stripe connected to the radio red wire which under the manual on my radio says it’s for accessory 12v. I also have a wire tap run from the back of the fuse block from a black wire with green stripe it looks like goes to the yellow wire on the new radio which is for constant 12v on my new radio. Other than that I have a ground wire and also have the speakers connected to the corresponding wires on the new radio.
Thank you so much for this video, crazy that we have to do all that to replace something so simple. You have helped so many of us!
Glad it was helpful!
Thx u i have replaced my filter ❤🎉
Awesome!
Is the Mustang finished? Now that i see you have another project.
@@Dennis1H no not yet. I’ve got some more content coming on that soon too. It’s driving though and this one is not, so I wanted to get this one moving so I can drive either one while working on one or the other.
@@kunertdiy Cool to have it driving. Will you show us footage of you driving in the future?
First thing you want to do is buy yourself a set of ramps. I just do not understand why more people do not. So much easier and safer.
Agreed. I used to have a set when I was younger and need to get another pair. So much safer and easier allot of the time.
All that to change the air filter smh
lol right.
I don't have none of those but probably need it eventually for what I have
Even after all these years, it still pisses me off that we have to go through all this just to change the cabin air filter! Just this reason alone, I will never purchase a Chevy again. Smh
It's interesting how few views old Mustang videos get. It's a thankless act but one that is very much appreciated. 👍
Thanks! There are still more to come.
Mine actually had tabs to hold the gasket to the head
Yeah i didn’t realize them at first. Made it much easier.
Well, I WAS going to do this myself, but now I'm NOT going to do this myself. Good luck, and sedatives to those who try.
lol. Not as bad as the cabin air filter.
Very straight forward instructions. Simple & easy explanation.
Thanks!
Not the easiest air filter to change, but this video definitely helped get the job done.
Glad it helped!
Or you can touch the two filters together to lube the new gasket.
Never thought of that. Will try it next time. Thanks.
Love the console and would like to make it for my 66 mustang and was wondering if you had measurements
Thanks! I don’t have any dimensions written down on it as I just kind of did it on the fly. Rough measurement from measuring it right now is about. 45-46” long. About 7” wide in the back and about 9” or so wide up front.
Thank you so much for this video! Been dreading this project but just got it done
Make sure to shot it with clear paint after final lettering application and it will make them last a lot longer and hold up much better to peeling off and getting nicked. Happy scouting.
Thanks so much for the info! Will do
I'm a female and I just replaced my chevy cruz air and cabin filters with your guidance. You made everything so easy and you saved me big bucks!!!! Thank you.
Glad it helped
I am too and going to get filter now
Yeah, I'm just gonna keep breathing stale air. Wtf. That's ridiculous to just change a simple filter.
@@jrau79 lol right
Agree....
Were those the rear brakes ?
Yes I started with the rear brakes.
Freaking awesome!!!
It was so fun!!!!
Ram dealership has taken my oil change up to $115 dollars after tax.
Oh yeah the one I went to a few times was close to that before. I stopped going and started doing my own as the cost and wait time wasn’t that great to begin with but also kept getting worse.
AWSOME Evan happy birthday 🤗🤗
Thanks
Nice!! The magnets were a nice touch!!
Thanks!
Literally just opened the box and mine looked exactly the same… CJ 🤷♂️ Whataya gonna do? I just glued it better
Vid sucks
Totally understand.. thank you
What did you coat your floor with? Did you have to do any floor pan replacement?
I used a duplicolor rust converter first. Then after that dried i went over the whole floor with a duplicolor primer. Then after the primer I put down the lizard skin. I didn’t have to do any floor pan replacement. Keep in mind this is just what I did I’m not a professional or anything.
Great video. Our 2013 cruze takes about 90 seconds to change. Our 2017 takes 20 minutes. Wtf GM?
Shirt and sweet. Should include part #
Do you still have the original firewall pad? If you do would you be willing to sell it? I’m looking to patch a few places on my original.
Sorry, no I threw it out after I pulled it out.
Pretty cool little handy nifty holder. And most grease gun are thrown in drawers on the floor on the table piled up with stuff. That makes it convenient to be organized. I like that. Thanks for sharing the video much appreciated. You have a wonderful afternoon and a great evening.
Thanks so much!
@@kunertdiy anytime man I’m just trying to help people get their algorithm up same thing for myself. Thank you so kindly for your response. Much appreciated.
This just saved me like $90! I was scared but I did it! Thank you so much for sharing!
Glad it helped!
Hey, great info. Did you use the same paint as the quarter trim panels? I have a sautern green interior, but want to paint black. Do you think I would need a primer? Or just paint the black right over the green? Thanks!
Thanks. Yeah I just used the same paint on both the doors and quarter panels and dash (the engine enamel). My interior was originally blue. I just lightly scuffed them with one of those scotch pads, not enough to take the paint away just enough to give the new paint something to adhere to. cleaned it and painted. Keep in mind though I’m not a professional. I’m Not sure if primer is needed before hand. I didn’t use as I thought since I just scuffed the existing paint slightly and figured it was still good with what was there originally to protect it. whatever you choose to do. Do so at your own risk.
How did you weather seal the holes left from the bumperettes?
I just used what I had in the video. I assume maybe those neoprene washers help a little bit. But I didn’t do anything special.
