This video is purely for me, just know it
So this is how you fixed the tablet
Hey, good to see you are still posting videos. Keep up the good work!😁
So fun 😄 I think u were muted most the entire first game lol
“I WANNA FIGHT IT” my famous words before a goblin bashed my skull downward into my ribcage
great video but needed more penguinbud
We’re fighters I tell ya
i wish you hadn’t stopped - your tutorials are the best!! hope you are well.
i havent done much with it since they made it unavailable on the original quest, and it wont work through pcvr. but i did just purchase a quest 2 and was actually thinking about jumping back in and seeing the changes since the beginning.
@@ThatGuy2040 oh please do!!! jump back in!! :)))
Ha what a coincidence! I just downloaded Blender on my new gaming laptop! So cool brother! You gotta teach me how to do the texture nodes!😯👍
Good lord. That TrashBat woman sucks. Good video though.
Great explanation. Thanks
My mistake. It does work. I used a cube instead of a trigger gizmo🤦🏻♂️. I’m used to roblox studio. There aren’t any triggers there. Just parts that you script to be triggers.
Didn’t work for me
Can you do one with horizon boom Box in the access world how to add music
This is confusing...
Noah, you said in a later post that the quirk of inverting objects got patched, does that mean that all your inverted objects no longer work?
how do you make a door that only certain people can use?
i havent played for a while... a long while, although if i remember correctly, you want to assign a persistant variable, or set a variable for the player. whether thats using a boolean (isplayerallowed=true) or a numbering system (if playerstate>0 then open). if its persistant, then once they are allowed, they are always allowed, whereas if its instance based, they will have to grab something or do something to trigger the variable change, and if they leave the game, they will have to do it again if they join a new instance.
@@ThatGuy2040 thank you for responding I really appreciate it. I have one more question how do you get the particular players ID?
@@keyofdi4149 well, 2 ways. The player id is the order in which they start the game. So if i started the game, my id would be 1, if you joined me, yours would be 2, and so on. The second way is creating a trigger block and then getting the id of player, and allowing permissions for the player id that went into the trigger zone.

For me you are doing too many thing at once. Too hard to follow =(
Looks awesome!
Thanks, im trying to get back into vr. Just got viveport
@@ThatGuy2040 cool! That’s a good way to try out a bunch of games!
one question - when you send the event from one object to another - you reference the other object as "block" - how do you create that reference?
You have to create a variable. On the right panel, and then put it where you need in your script. Then when you attach that variable from one object to another, that other object will be used for that variable. Overall answer, create a variable.
@@ThatGuy2040 Thanks for the response. I figured out my problem... you have to drag the "reference pill" from one object to the other and put it in the variable slot for the script on the 2nd object. It was the reference pill i didn't understnad - I could only find one mention of it in all the tutorials I found...
waaaaaayyyyyyy to complicated one simple script would have been so much easier to digest im more confused then i was when i started
nope
Hey, can you come back and so more tutorials? That would be great
That example alien sound is bloodcurdingly loud compared to your voice with hedphones on. I learned from this but I got a migraine. :(
Thank you NOAH!!! A year later your videos are helping so much! ♥️
Wasn't looking for this but hey its fine it entertained me well ahaha
Does this still work with the new scripting outline when obj is grabbed, button 1 pressed, button 2 pressed? I've tried everything.
I believe this was patched within a few months of this video being up
@@ThatGuy2040 Ah, I guess this means that the inverted objects no longer work? Pity
Looks like a fun game bro
Ha, it is. I've been sending stuff to a discord channel, but they only allow 8mb files, so I upload to youtube and send the link instead. Works better
This game looks fun
I’m stressed out lol, I built a gun and it shot 10 times then stopped, I haven’t been able to make another one work… could it be something wrong In my settings ?
It may be that your launching the bullet from a large object and its spawning in said object. Make a small square, make the ball shoot from the small square, then group the square to the end of the gun. If that's the issue, then this will fix it
@@ThatGuy2040 my apologies..just a little It confused, you said the sizing is throwing it off?
Why the hell did you make this so complicated.
Hey Noah thanks for your videos I’d love to see more! What’s the name of this world- could you add me as an editor to I could duplicate and take a look at the scripts? I’m trying to learn!
Can you have ONE trigger/script turn off/hide/turn off audio on one object and then play it all on another? Having issues telling it what targets.
you can, although if you want, you can also use the same script to turn it back on. i found success in using a boolean for this with a dj booth we did. you would wave your hand on the disk, and it would look for whether the boolean was true (on) or false (off). if it was true, then it would stop everything and then change boolean to false, and vice versa. although some instances if you touched it twice too fast, it would mess with the boolean and then no longer shut off.
if you want a seperate trigger to start it though, you should be able to use the same script for both triggers. i would name 2 "object variable" to "start" and "stop", and under the script, "if trigger entered, turn on "start", turn off "Stop". then when you put the 1 script on both triggers, only wire "start" on one trigger, and "stop" on the other, both going to the same target. this will save you some space, as well as less headache searching through a bunch of scripts, "which one turns off, which one turns on, wrong target..." whereas with 1 script "i know this script does everything for this target, so i know my problem is here"
Oh I guess this answers my previous question. Drag and drop would still be nice
I wish they'd add a node on object xyz to be able to drag and drop in script coordinates. Haven't seen a get location function. Any ideas other than hand typing?
darn, its been a bit since ive been on, but! i believe under the "wand" in the script, there is a "position of _______" . so you would create a object variable, put this "position of _____" in the place of the coordinate in your script, then place the object variable within the insert. so "position of (objectx)" then just be sure to wire the object to the correct node. hopefully that makes sense.
you can also just do "x of ____" or "rotation of______" as well
check my "doors" video, it covers "location of___" by moving the door based on its current position
We want more videos please lol
you know. i havent touched my headset in a bit, and when i do ive been on walking dead. buuuuttt, ive missed this game and the community that we had (this was 8 months ago). ill definatly try to post new content soon. also ive recently built myself a gaming pc and will try to sort folders based on games id like to stream
I need to watch this on a TV. Cant see any of the writing on mobile
Love the tutorial! Easy to follow. Can you do an updated one tho? I don't know why buy recently when I've been playing horizon I don't have the little blue/orange tabs on bottom of the property panels. Is it just a glitch on mine or did the update change the way to do things
Love these tutorial videos. Your thoroughness and the moderate pace you take in your walkthroughs make it easy to grasp and retain the information. Thanks for making them.
Can you use more than one collision tag per object? For example, if I have a zombie object, am I limited to only using one tag -- say "bullet" for that zombie? Is there a syntax for multiple tags?
This would be better with just 1 simple action. Would be easier to follow.
Very nicely done
One of the things with the plugs just doesn’t seem to be showing up for me, not sure what I did wrong or if they updated the game
Thank you very much Noah for those tutorials! Amazing
I have a question: Why didnt you just use MoveBy instead of MoveTo... that way you would simplify your script by alots of line and the position of the door in the world wouldnt matter
You know, I thought I did. And I dont know why. You would just need the script to makes sure the movement finished their path before going the other way, or your door would end up all over the place if you kept entering and exiting, unless you left the move to origin. Then no issue. But overall. I should have at least mentioned the move by.
@@ThatGuy2040 Yeah that make sense. I can see now why its important to use a MoveTo. Thank you
@@Raidx184 I mean, moveby would work as well. The other thing you can do is at would start, set a variable to "origin + vector 0.15.0" then it would always end at the same place as well.
