How to Remember DCAP-BTLS for EMT Students
I would like to have a "police" model with a pointed tip.
I had been looking for this video for hours I made 15 pair.
Great tip. Absolutely more controlled than the one handed flick, for sure. And I bet it’s just as fast when you’ve learned it properly. 👍
Take a cue from the other knife critics and give us more KNIFE, less FACE. Thanks.
Great video thank you! 🎉
Thank you!
Ops Focus program is now 40% off. Just changed May 2024.
Even if this did work in a real life scenario, the release after you flip him would leave you in a vulnerable position. Look at Judo flips and trips as an alternative and look at how jiu jitsu athletes would go from different positions like side control and full mount.
Yes, I agree with you that Judo and Jiu jitsu have a variety of throws besides the modified Ippon Seoi Nage used here. Keep in mind many people in EMS are not martial artists like ourselves and will not put the same time and reps in practicing techniques like a martial artist. Techniques are chosen for simplicity, effectiveness, and frequency of success while having minimal time in training. Another point is that our “win” is not submitting nor restraining an attacker. We are not LEO’s, we’re EMS, and that isn’t part of our Rules of Engagement. Our “win” is creating space and escaping the encounter, so gaining side control or any variation of the mount is counterproductive to the goal.
Thank you for this video, it helped tremendously!
I did this naturally😂
Got the raptor for TECC purposes. A colleague of mine said the were a good piece of kit, but a sucker to open with one hand. I found your video, tried a couple of times, and got to show off in front of said colleague, whom I later directed towards your tutorial. Thanks a lot. Love the technique.
Great way to remember them! Thanks for the video!
Great video.
Thank you!
Oh so it’s like a ranger roll but for gloves 👍
That’s correct. Comes in handy!
love it
Thanks!!!
Here’s a link to the OpFocus Program…. www.spyderco.com/resources/op-focus/
Where is the link brother? If no link can point me in the right direction to sign up for the program? Thanks
Combat medic here. Love my raptors and I play with them a lot. I only open them with a 1 hand method if there’s a way to send a video I’d love to show u
Thanks
Got the technique from your video, first try. Super easy to get going once you know how. Cheers for a good video!
That’s awesome and thank you!
Just taken receipt of two of these bad boys to add to my various kits man they are well built! Thank you for your time and the service you provide Sir.
Thank you! Great explanations video! I will include your video link on my article about this knife 😁
Great video sir. I'm surprised that only one guy at the FD I was at had a pair of these. But then again, none of my partners really carried stuff on them. Since I'm the rookie, I carried trauma shears, extra gloves, a note pad, pen, pen light, flashlight and pocket knife on me. First time I ever rode day shift (I'm a night shifter) my two partners that I never rode with before ended up asking me for almost all my gear I had on me. One point, one of them was just reaching into my pocket to grab something. I just used a pair of trauma shears I got from a local drug store and they worked pretty good on a call. But I hope to get a pair of these eventually, I just got a pair from 5.11 tactical that I haven't had the chance to field test yet. I've been dealing with a lot so the outtakes at the end made me laugh. Thanks I really needed that.
Thanks! I go through phases of what I carry on me during a shift. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I wasn’t sure about putting in outtakes again, but I’m so glad you enjoyed them.
@@HealerWarrior Its good to switch up your EDC or the items you carry on you while you're on duty. I usually carry the same items on me every time I reported in for night shift. Even when I'm off duty, I still carry the same EDC on me. I'm happy you put the outtakes in there I really needed a good laugh after this week.
I am a white cloud. I have been running calls Friday night 6pm-1am(350 hours total) as a volunteer EMR(currently taking my EMT class) and only got 2 overdoses no cardiac arrests and no major traumas. But whenever I get sick or can't make it to my shift, my crew gets a crap ton of calls. I volunteer in a 30k person suburb with 2 major highways running through it. For example: a few months ago I took the night off. Within 5 hours ,1 cardiac arrest, 3 overdoses 4 run-of-the-mill calls, and 4 mutual aids. With only 2 trucks. Last night 4 calls all bs but 3 tones were seconds apart from each other.
I get it. It may suck right now, but it will ebb and flow. Not to put the bad juju on you, but it will happen. Good luck with EMT class, Brotha!
As a fellow EMT and guro in Kali, keep up the great work brother.
Thank you Brotha!
Thanks for the thumbs up
Thanks for writing back you just made my day
Hi
Hi Matteo.
Love you videos thanks
I don’t know what I would watch if I didn’t have you thanks to much
@@HealerWarrior thanks
Welcome back sir and great video. I'm trying to get over tow bad calls in a row and I'm switching firehouses when I feel ready. I was at a volunteer FD (most of the firehouses in my area are both career guys and volunteer mixed together) and you could do EMS only you don't have to do firefighter. My county will put you through EMT, medic and fire academy for no cost. You have to be an EMT before you go for firefighter in my area. I think a lot of other places are like that as well. I did mostly 911 calls but we did have the occasional IFT.
Thank you! I hope all is well with you, SIsta.
@@HealerWarrior You're welcome sir. Thanks. I found out that I have PTSD the other week and its been absolute h*ll (my guys had to transport me to the ED, but of course I couldn't really be a pt. I had to do my own vitals on that machine) but I'm getting the help I need to learn to cope with it better then I'm going to try to get into another FD. I'm not going to let that PTSD or two bad calls stop me from doing what I want to do. I still want to serve the community I live in.
Haha love the outtakes, maybe I should start doing that 😆 🤣
Oh, definitely!
Great to see you creating content again!
Thanks Brotha!
This changes everything.
I can't tell you how much this makes me happy that this helped someone! Thank you, Ted!

Great tips man🙈
Thanks Brotha!
This used to be quite helpful on the road!
Thank you so much. I am definitely a kinesthetic learner and we kind of passed over this quickly in class. Really appreciate it!
I’m so glad it helped! Us kinesthetic learners have to look out for each other. 😊
😊👍👍👍
I’m on my way down south and someone mentioned that all EZ Passes needed to be mounted or you get fined, or something. Just in case, I wasn’t messing around. 😂
@@HealerWarrior Yes! They absolutely do! I've known people that have gotten a PILE of tickets in the mail because the sensor didn't read it and they take an automatic photo of your vehicle and plate. They're a huge pain to deal with because each one is mailed individually. I helped a family member sort it out awhile back and it was a headache. Each fine wasn't a lot, but the amount they ended up with was crazy! It might be easier to pay and sort out now, but I'd rather prevent it than deal with it after too! Safe travels!
LOL! So true! 😂😂😂 If only I could have kept all the bloopers and outakes from my channel (I usually erase the excess footage once I have the finished vid bc who has room for allllll of that footage😂) All my vids are unscripted (I know in my head what info I'll be including and occasionally I will leave a note with bulletpoints esp for a LIVE), but I haven't done it for over a year with my unplanned, unexpected break. I expect a niiiiice amount of new bloopers being out of practice 😁😂, but I'm looking forward to hopefully get rolling again soon! PS I haven't forgotten about that collab! Did you get my comment about Tube Buddy on FB? You have a really great channel and it's an inexpensive yet awesome way to get your vids search engine optimized and ranking higher so people will find you easier!😊
Nice.
I messed up the first upload. 🤦♂️😆
@@HealerWarrior Can I ask you a medical question sir?
Sure. You have my email address.
@@HealerWarrior Yep, I just wanted to ask first,
@@HealerWarrior I sent you an email sir. I did also ask an additional question, hope that's alright.
I’m in an EMR class this really helped. And the way you presented that was on point. Thank you.
That’s awesome! Thank you! I really appreciate you saying that and I’m pumped that these videos are actually helping people.
Love the knife, amazing glassbreaker setup...the whistle should find its way back to 90’s rambo knives. O2 tank wrench and dedicated (exchangeable) seatbelt/clothes cutter and an automatic option would bring this knife out of 1995
Certain states do not allow automatic opening blades. I like Auto’s, but the more “stuff” you have, in this case the additional mechanisms, the more that can go wrong and fail when you need it.
Love the name “healer warrior”
Thanks!
This always makes me laugh. Dark humor is the best. I was at church group the other day, and I made a dark humor joke by accident, and a friend of mine just starts cracking up.
I do this at home all the time with duct tape, painters tape, etc. and it works great.
👍🏼 I do it with all kinds of tape as well!
@@HealerWarrior It really does save a lot of time.
... and aggravation! 😆
@@HealerWarrior That's true,
@@HealerWarrior Can I ask you a medical question sir? (Its from a scenario I was going over last night when I was studying)
This channel is so good I might as well subscribe
Please do. 😊
@@HealerWarrior consider it done 😁
It’s definitely appreciated! Thank you! I hope you enjoy the channel and get something out of it.
Just like folding socks 👌👌
Is this EMS hack from experience Of saying stupid stuff over an open mic?
Not gonna lie... absolutely! 😆 I only wish that I came up with it.
The curse of the 800MHz radio! I remember the good old days of UHF, when you could key up, say "SHEEEEWWWWWWW" to some nonsense on the radio, and get away with it! Not that I ever did that! :: halo ::
😂
Awsome videos brotha!!! Been an emt for 6 years as a volly and start my career in commercial EMS this week
Congrats on the “new” gig and thank you Brotha!
