The goal of this channel is to produce videos using information from documents and manuals and compile the beneficial for DCS information into videos. This way you can get many of the benefits of reading the manual and knowledge of systems, knowing the right speed for best performance, etc, while I do the actual work of finding the information!
DCS Mi-24P: CCIP Errors
0:00 Intro
1:48 How It Works
2:58 Height Error
4:04 Boresight Error
5:12 Settling Time
5:36 Sync Mode & Manual Ranging
7:02 Recap
Hello, this video is to talk about the errors the Mi-24P CCIP system has in creating a perfect solution. By knowing these errors, you will become more accurate, aim better, kill more things, and be more effective in the DCS battlefield. As far as I know, this is exactly how the real system works and thus serves to also educate about the real thing, which used novel solutions for 1970's technology to help ballistic aiming.
It is surprising sometimes how well it can handle minor height differences along the ground but knowing which way slopes will throw you off help immensely. In addition, the boresight error was something I discovered through trial and error, and I hope it helps you use the full 3.5 km range of the sight as it does for me. This “Boresight” error is the main reason for the video and should help you the most to put rounds on target whether you are 1 or 3 km away!
One way to help visualize it if I didn’t explain it well: Aim the nose at the ground with rockets and gun loaded and press active pause. Switch between rockets and gun, you will notice that even though the pipper will be in two very different places, the range is exactly the same because the computer only calculates range based off where boresight points.
Some corrections, the S-13 and S-24 as mentioned use S-8 ballistics for CCIP. However,
1. For S-13, the S-8 ballistics are well within the normal rocket spread of S-13, so you will find the CCIP more then adequate for using the S-13, no manual tables needed!
2. Currently there is a bug where the S-24 has proper ballistics in its CCIP for the first shot. If you set burst length to "LONG" and fire them all at once, you can effectively aim them this way. Enjoy it while the bug lasts
There is a page from the manual here that says it does do ballistics for the 7.62mm Gsh mini guns, but this was later removed. Currently it uses the same ballistic solution as the YakB, and while it will shoot under the YakB, both guns aren't very accurate for the CCIP until within their 1-1.3 km max range.
Let me know if you have any thoughts or suggestions, and happy hunting!

DCS: Mi-24P Fastest Start-Up
Переглядів 108Місяць тому
Hello here is what I have figured out is the fastest possible start up in the DCS Mi-24P. As mentioned this would practically ruin the lifetime hours of the TV3-117VMA engines as we are not waiting for the full warm up period for the turbine blades to warm up evenly. We are also trying to get generator online as fast as possible for the doppler to finish its warm up period as soon as it can, wh...

0:00-3:27 Intro and History 3:28-8:15 Technique Step 1 and 2: Pick the correct chart for your desired loft angle and speed. 20 degrees and 280 kmh is chosen here for maximum loft range Step 3: Find correct pipper depression including correction for head/tail wind using ground speed Step 3.5: Optional: correct for left/right wind using drift angle meter and separate wing correction chart. Thank you AG for another superb video! Always learn more about the hind from you, and how to employ it better, and smoke more targets 🎯
Great video and research
god i love videos like this thank you so so much :3 btw what kind of servers do u recommend for the mi-24 / mi-8 if you dont mind me asking?
@@MieWRLDD Thank you for the kind words. It’s hard to say, I definitely haven’t tried them all! I got my start on Rotorheads. Grey flag is a lot of fun. Heard good things about Levant. Helo World from BSD is nice PVE. There’s also the big PVP servers like HB CW, Shadow reapers, Contention, where you will have to deal with enemy fighters rather often but can be a lot of fun to show them what’s what with 30mm or R-60 or even air to air Ataka/Shturm or watch them crash as they mess up their attack lol With most of these servers also having logistics to varying degrees, there’s lots of places for Mi-24. Definitely more then when it came out
Contention!
@@AeriaGloria i havent had the courage to start rotor heads yet but i might give it a shot! HB CW is my go to right now in general, and ill try out contention tysm! And again amazing videos please keep them coming i LOVE the style of them !!
@@MieWRLDD that’s very nice of you. I was worried about the style and format
Good job!
Video idea for April fools: Apache radar hellfire + longbow tutorial
@@keedxx Lol, I don’t have the Apache. But I would love to go head to head with someone that has radar and AGM-114L against Hind with air to air Ataka and R-60!
Ah nice! This is a great explanation for how all this works- and some of the pitfalls. See you in the skies Gloria!
This is really helpful, thank you so much.
Another great vid. Criminally under-rated
I appreciate the kind words it means alot. I will get more videos out so everyone can get the most out of their aircraft
Hello =) Did similar procedure about 1 or 2 years ago) ua-cam.com/video/r4zJx3NSjak/v-deo.htmlsi=25yGPwP3RM351AwZ
@@Logan-54 Wow it is very similar! Great minds think alike!
Thanks AG always learn something new in your videos! Good to know about the Doppler warmup!
As a fellow Hind person, I am grateful for your tutorial!
Awesome, more coming soon. If you have personal requests let me know. Working on a CCIP/autopilot/aerodynamics series right now
@@AeriaGloria What I'd find valuable is an emergency procedures video... how to suppress engine fires... how to keep a damaged engine alive... that kind of thing...
@@dampsok I didnt think of that! I'll add it to my to do list! Thank you!
@@AeriaGloria You are absolutely welcome! I know you've probably had your fair share of times where you've had to limp your bird back home, and I am sure we could benefit from your experience.

Many thanks, more coming soon!
Thank you AG! I'm excited to try this!
