We bundled up and headed out for some camping on a nice March weekend. It was the first time taking the teardrop out in Mn! The night was a little bit colder than we’d hoped, but overall it was a great trip. Thanks for watching! We have a lot more adventures coming out. Like and subscribe to join us. Thanks!
Installing our Rhino Rack Sunseeker Awning
Переглядів 4,7 тис.3 роки тому
Our awning arrived and we couldn’t wait for spring to get it installed. So on the first “nice” weekend afternoon we headed out to set it up. Due to backorders we couldn’t get an awning initially with our purchase. This ended up working out great for us. The Rhino rack sunseeker 2.5m awning is larger than what we had initially decided to go with. Before shooting we did take a hacksaw to the bott...

We bought a teardrop trailer! Packing Day behind the scenes.
I don't do the dispersed as I do what I call Stealth Camping. You would never see me.
I’m surprise the manufacture added wood to this trailer when so many now are trying to avoid making trailers with wood even if it’s not in the exterior.
Looks like you stopped posting videos which is a bummer. We are just about the buy that same trailer, hope you guys still like it.
We have a pretty big backlog of videos to edit and post. Our 22 month old little dude has slowed us down quite a bit but we still love it and got out a few times this season.
@@CherieCory awesome to hear! We have 4 kids so I totally get that one. Any issues with your trailer?
@codymoore9667 no, it’s been going great. Took it down to TN and Ky this past spring.
@@CherieCory That's great to hear thanks for the info! Looking forward to getting ours soon.
I camped in #7 my first trip there, awesome to see you both had a great time too and thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome setup, thanks for sharing, happy travels
Did you have the door to the lower galley from the back added by Bend, or did you do that yourself? Also, i noticed that you had two different sized spice racks. Did they also make those? I currently only see them offering one spice rack and a whisky/wine rack. I like the added spice rack idea!
The door was a custom add on that they no longer offer. We requested the second spice rack in place of the wine rack.
How is your camper holding up? I hope to talk to Dave next week to get an idea of what to expect with an order etc. How does your vehicle do towing it?
The teardrop is doing great. We’re a little behind on videos right now (new house, job, and baby) The Mazda did great, but it was tough driving a manual with the constant need to shift. We’ve upgraded to a V6 Mitsubishi for a little more power and space.
Looks like you two are living the dream. Your videos are peaceful and I am learning a lot. Can you tell me what stove you have and does it fit in the gally when closed up? Looks like it is perfect.
Thanks for watching! That was an old Coleman propane stove, it fit nicely in the back o top of our boxes in the galley.
If you have enough room, maybe pack a trailer dolly in case you need to move it by hand. Just an idea, maybe that won't work but may be worth a try. Harbor freight has them and some collapse. Love the videos, I am thinking of getting a bend camper next year.
You guys are funny. Keep up the comedy!!
Just found your channel! Love you two! I’m waiting for my own teardrop to be made, a Oregon Trailer, Do Drop Alfa! Just twelve more months to go!
Early congrats on the trailer! We have a bunch more videos to edit. And the weather is staring to look perfect to get out again.
@@CherieCory I’m watching them all!
Hi, how has the camper held up? I plan on getting a small trailer and this is one of the contenders. Is your mazda the cx5 model and does it do okay with towing it?
Its been great. We spent thirty nights in it last year. The cx5 did well, but ours was a manual and shifting got pretty tiring. We upgraded to a v6 outlander after our first big trip.
Will be enjoying your adventures with the Bend TD , as we wait for ours to be built
Congrats, hope you get it soon!
Should have bought a Subaru! But I love the way you figured it out together.
Yeah, that was a tough one. We’ve upgraded to a V6 AWD Outlander now : )
Thank you for sharing this part of your life
Thanks for watching
I was looking to head out there soon! Do you think you can make it into a dispersed camp spot with the snow? I’ve never been to this park before
The actual campground is closed until May. We went at the tail end of the winter so not much was on the road. Unsure if they do any sort of snow removal in the winter.
@@CherieCory Gotcha. Thanks for the reply!
Hey there, we just recently bought a trailer from Bend Teardrop as well. We're still looking around for mattress suggestions. Any suggestions?
Where did you find the ventilating matte, mattress, and topper? We are looking at the 6 x 12 model and I’m having a difficult time finding a mattress.
How is the Bend Teardrop holding up? We are looking at getting one, but don’t know much about them.
Still going great! Winter up here, so she’s just chilling in the garage. Excited to get back out in the spring
He seems very mechanically inclined
Coming in a year late here but was wondering what teardrop you were using here? We are thinking getting the 8x5 teardrop from Bend, really don’t wish to have the sink or water holder in ours so will have to see what can be done, thanks
Not sure who made this one. It was a rental from outdoorsy.
You two are the sweetest.
Thanks Cheryl!
With what you have been through so far, maybe you should have skipped the awning and purchased a quickset ice fishing hut.
The awnings have been wonderful. Especially if there is a slight drizzle in the mornings. We did end up getting a quick setup screen tent too
What teamwork!
Nice! I hope you have wonderful adventures!
Thanks Cheryl! We’ve been having a blast so far
@@CherieCory, do you know what kind of insulation is in this trailer?
We’re not sure, but it works pretty well!
😍😍😍 Awesome!! Camera tricks 😂
Congrats on the teardrop! Wish you guys happy camping, keep the content coming, subbed!
Thanks so much! We’ve been off for a bit, but new trip starts this weekend!
@@CherieCory I cant wait! I know how it is, swing by my channel if you get bored, we're in the same boat :-)
Cherie, what kind of boots are you wearing? I love them! Are they red? Pink?
Thanks, I love them too! They’re red Oboz hiking boots - they’ve been perfect for hiking in all seasons and are super supportive. amzn.to/3st36PL
Great tour of your teardrop with some awesome ideas! Can you please tell me where you found the ventilating mat?
Thanks for watching! We got the mats from Amazon: amzn.to/3AjAonf
Very nice setup
Thanks for sharing your trip!
Greetings to you both, I have really enjoyed your trip west to get your teardrop so far. I found your channel because my husband and I ( much older than you both) are planning this same trip in about another year. I have researched teardrops for years and have settled on the Bend. I love seeing your Faith and committed to each other in your videos. You are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing. I can’t wait to watch the rest of your trip.
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind message, that means a lot to us. We love sharing our adventures, big and small, and all the learnings along the way, as other folks’ videos have helped us! Hope you have a fantastic trip when you get yours next year!
My wife was super happy to see our car itself.
thanks for watching, hope you can get out kayaking soon!
Yes can’t wait for it
You guys are SO wholesome. I love you guys ❤
Thanks so much Bao! Love you too!
Cool use of the drone! This is "our lake!" Feel free to come by any time and we'll join you with our kayaks for another paddle on Eagle to Pike Lake.
We’ll definitely be back soon!
@@CherieCory cold beverages can be supplied if we know you are coming. Also, we were out this morning and the water lilies are blooming!
That sounds amazing!
Is that a bend Roy tear drop camper
60° sounds amazing! We have 80s here now 😅 Looks like y’all had fun!
It was pretty great once we got out into the sun. Stay cool down there!
You did a real review - not a fake one . Now I know exactly what to expect. I am going to order a 2m awning now. Thanks a lot!
Glad you enjoyed it. Be sure to add on an extra couple spare horizontal pole hinge (C882) parts to have handy in case for when one breaks.
Looks like this would be a great awning for my Camp Inn teardrop. What kind of mounting brackets did you order for your roof rack? They look different from the ones that come with the awning
Thank for watching, we had to order the Euro Bar Bracket Kit from Rhino to fit our Thule roof rack. It was only an extra $22 and made installation super easy.
Thanks for doing these videos. My husband and I just bought our teardrop and are doing a lot of research. We live in AZ and plan on NO trips during the winter....
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed them! As Minnesotans, we were surprised with how cold it got in AZ! Was in the mid teens in Nevada and mid 20’s in AZ at night during our trip. Made us feel right at home 😆
Why did you drive way out there. Don’t they have some good teardrops in Wisconsin? I thought I saw some
It was a combination of design, price, and availability. Plus who doesn’t love an excuse for a good road trip.
So how did your Mazda handle pulling your Teardrop? It’s a nice trailer.
Thanks! The CX-5 did great. No problems when we brought it in for an oil change afterwards. It was a pretty big workout for me having to shift so much the whole time.
I'm thinking about a camper from this builder. How happy have you been with the quality of construction? How is the fit & finish? Thanks in advance.
Hi Scott, we’ve been very happy with it so far. Inside and out everything is solid and has working great.
I love your videos! Thank you so much for sharing. We ordered our 5x10 BendTeardrop and are now waiting (impatiently). I was wondering if you could share any details about your towing experience. I too drive a Mazda CX-5, and I'm wondering about your towing experience. Anything you can share would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much and congrats on the purchase! We did the whole trip (MN to OR to AZ to MN) with our 2016 CX-5 Sport. We had the the manufacturer tow kit installed earlier in the year. It went well for the most part, but it was a FWD manual transmission. We had some trouble in the icy unmaintained roads. It got pretty tiring with the amount of shifting needed even on the long highway drives. Overall we took it 4800 miles in two weeks we no issues found on its next oil change.
Loved this tour! What fun!
Thanks Rach! So glad you enjoyed!
What fun! I love it!
Thanks Keith!
Looks nice, kids.
Thanks Pete! We need to get to the Dakotas and Michigan soon
The sink! Love it.
It’s so cute and functional! We love it too!
Your teardrop has more counter space than our house kitchen.
Haha, but your kitchen is safer from coyotes
This was very relaxing to watch. The sunset was beautiful 😊
Thanks so much for watching, we’re glad you enjoyed it! The sunset was our favorite, it was like time stopped for a bit.
