Sorry but this chassis and rollcage has nothing in common with a STC chassis! Inner fenders are not changed, front domes are not placed to the back for a lot more caster, rear arm connection point is not changed. Diff carrier is still in. All the pipes in the cage that made the STC special are not in. If you really wanna run the car that low in the back you will get problems with your side shafts, angles are wrong....This is a nice build E36 track car, nothing more!

BTW, I have a V8 M3 what I have owned for 15 years do something with that. Turn that into a beast pls

Sweet. Do the arms kit tell you where to weld the lower arm mounts. Ive put a couple nice track cars together. And really am thinking about doing the rear arch mod. Now along with the front mods.

S42 would have been better for accuracy and still have some power at 315hp, but that'd cost more money. It's not as common and way more impressive imo

Your comment about the roll centre is incorrrect. The roll centre is moved downwards when the car is lowered thus moving it further away from the centre of gravity and making the car roll more.

Really glad i found this page! love your content! Im also building an STW 318i... and my motor choice is a K20a type R believe it or not.... Now i know the purists will probably hate me but... its the motor that makes most sense if you want to stay period correct without completely breaking the bank. Its 4 cyl 2.0L, high revving, and plenty of aftermarket support... not to mention its around 200whp right out of the box. a couple bolt on mods and some headwork and youre at 300whp. The s14 is just way too expensive and takes a lot of engine work to bring it to that desired power level. Now the s42 obviously would be the best option... but good luck finding one. and if you do, the cost is absurd. but you probably have a better chance at finding one being on that side of the pond.. ive actually found a contact in italy that has a plethora of original STW parts.... in my opinion, S54 wouldnt be period correct nor would it be a proper STW engine as they were all 4cyl. But obviously im sure you already know this. I know i know.... its crazy to put a Japanese heart in our beloved bavarian machines... but if you really wanna do it right i think this it the best way to go. Check out @625inc they have engineered parts for direct fit up on ZF drivetrain mated to K engines. Cant wait for the next video to see whats in store! Cheers

Nice build, i got one old E36 Racing shell that raced in England in the 2000. it must be restored. the car has a lot of stw parts. are you going to seam weld the bodywork? stw the cars were seam welded

I get the S14 engine would require big big money… but still… nobody builds a 100% replica… having the S14 engine would made it the best replica of a E36 STW

B58 is the only engine worth considering 👀

S14 or S42, or a "S42" replica with the M42 engine. Can’t really call it STW replica with a 6 pot etc, no matter if you get more power for the money. High reving 4 pot sounds sooo much better also, I think. Better balance also with 4 pot, more crisp in the corners etc. I own a 4 pot e36 Btcc inspired, also had 6 pot. 4 pot is better and more fun in a different way. Want massive power, 6 pot. Want to go faster overall and lighter, 4 pot😁 There is a reason Bmw used 4 pot.

Damn.... I thought I built the ultimate E36 M3 (starting in 2007) when I bought my M3 GT and put the ceramic brakes, twin turbo and more. Still have the car btw, now at around 550hp and 700nm with endless other small mods.

B48 keeps the balance of an original supertourer while adding modern tunability

Honda F20 or K20 would be nice. Super light, strong and revvy. But should stay n/a. They can make 300 hp+.

Any video of the rollcage being fitted? Would have liked to have seen that.
