Hi, My name is Bryan. I live out in the country and always have projects to do or ideas of things I'd like to make. I retired in 2021 and never looked back or thought I'd rather get up early and go to work. Now I just get up early and have fun doing the stuff I love to do. Stop by and check it out.

I am a little envious of your rocks. The ones on our property don't give up quite so easily. Nice work with the stump bucket. 👋😎👍☕️
You do have some killer rocks Ben. My tractor helps a lot on my rocks and the limestone splits in layers so if you take your time you can usually get them out. I did have to use the wedges on that one though.
Good morning Bryan, your Mahindra is a little big for our property but I am impressed with it's capacity /what it can do. Thanks, I really enjoyed watching the tractor at work. Have a great week, Ben👋😎👍☕️
Hi Ben, It's a good size for my place. I bought it used back before we had the house built to clear the land. I don't set any speed records but can usually get the job done. Thanks Ben, you have great week too.
Oh man Bryan, that is a lot of water! Stay safe!
And that was this morning before another 3". Thanks Ben.
@@semo-dyer5183that's is crazy Bryan
Oh what fun !
For sure.
Oh man, how cool is that. 👋😎👍
@@whenworkisplay for sure. Maybe in my younger days….
Good morning Bryan, I hope this video really takes off for you because it is an excellent how to video. Every thing I need to know, right down to dimensions of the materials, the rods you used and the amperage on the welder. I will come back to this video this winter, when I build one of these. I knew you would come up with more usages for that front hitch. Thanks again, have a great weekend, Ben 👋😎👍🍻
Thanks Ben. I do struggle with how much detail to video. Too much and they get long. Too little and it leaves people with questions. Thanks for the input. Bryan
@semo-dyer5183 well Bryan, I think you hit the sweet spot on this one👍
Get a bigger saw!
Thanks but my big saw stays more and more in the shed these days.
Wow!! Great video Bryan 👍
Thanks Ben. The young guys like to have a little fun now and then. Have a great week.
He needs to learn how to work that chain saw and not the chain saw working him
A sharper blade would have helped too. Thanks for watching.
Good evening Bryan, nice that the machines can make things a little easier on your back. Nice load of firewood. Have a great week, Ben 👋😎👍🪵🪓🔥🍻
@@whenworkisplay For sure Ben. How’s your wood lot coming along?
@@semo-dyer5183 we are in the midst of building a wood shed on that spot, but had to take time away to haul boats and floating docks. Back at it soon. 👋😎👍🍻
@@whenworkisplay I'm looking forward to seeing it.
Good evening Bryan, nice repair! One of the most rewarding things I have learned, since I retired, is how to weld. I enjoyed the video, have a great week, Ben 👋😎👍🍻
Good morning Ben, I agree, I look forward and come up with projects that I can weld. I've learned so much watching UA-cam and look back at earlier welds and think how much better I can weld now. Practice is the key for sure. Thanks you! I'm looking forward to more videos from you. Bryan
Very nice first fire. 🔥👍
Thanks Ben, getting to be that time of year. I'm sure you're in the same boat.
Good morning Bryan, I enjoyed the video. I think that hitch is going to come in handy. You started me thinking that there must be a variety of uses for it. Thanks! Have a great weekend, Ben 👋😎👍🍻
Hi Ben, Thanks. I know what you mean, been thinking the same thing. Enjoy your weekend, Bryan
Looking forward to the video 👍
Thanks Ben.
Looking forward to the video Bryan 👍
Hello Bryan, A bit of work getting the stump out, but mission accomplished 👍 As I am watching the video I am amazed at the fact that there was not a rock in sight. I have no idea what it would be like to dig in a boulder free area😁👍 I enjoyed the video, have a good one, Ben 👋😎👍🍻🚜
Hi Ben, You and me both, this was the first time I haven't hit rock. And a good thing too, those stumps had a good hold on. Have a great day, Bryan
Good work.
Good evening Bryan, really nice job on this hitch. It looks better than factory built. Really enjoyed the video. Thanks, Ben 👋😎👍🍻
Good morning Ben, thank you. Like you I enjoy doing different things, especially when it's something I can use around the place. Bryan
Good morning Bryan, nicely done, should come in handy. Looking forward to watching the full build. Have a good one,Ben 👋😎👍
you sound really out of breath. You still with us?
LOL, and that was digging with the excavator. Imagine if I was using a shovel.
Good job! Just one thing, you have a micro excavator not a mini. Micro machines are one ton and less.
Thanks Bobby. You are right, now I wish I had a bigger one. Check out the video on removing a tree with the ripper I built. I just got done digging up three oak stumps. I find that the micro digs ok but the tractor is where it's at for pushing them over and out of the hole. Thanks for watching.
Looks great lots of work
Thanks Jeff. It was really fun.
I clear out the loose dirt with my front bucket and get my axe, cut out a few big roots. Then push it out with the tractor, in low gear, in 4 wheel drive at high rpm's. Feels great when it's out the ground !
@@robertbirch4163 Does it make pretty big hole? The axe is a good idea. I see a lot of people using a chainsaw. I never have much luck with chainsaws in the dirt. I do know that feeling you spoke of. I always say if it moves it’ll come out. Thanks for the comment and watching.
@@semo-dyer5183 The size of the hole depends on the size of the root ball. I have used a dump truck load per stump. The chainsaw is just the wrong tool. I would use a saw saw with a wood blade. But my axe works really good on roots. Thanks for the video.
Good morning Bryan, looks like they make trees pretty tough where you live. I am impressed with what our little tractor can do but I am really impressed with what your tractor can do. I enjoyed the video. Have a great week, Ben 👋😎👍🍻
Hi Ben, nice to hear from you. Yes, I find the the oaks have a good hold. The Eastern Red Cedar give up a lot easier. Thanks for watching, I know it was kind of long but sometimes it's hard to fit it all into a short clip. Enjoy your week and I hope so see one of your new videos soon. Bryan
Another good job
Good evening Bryan. It looks like it was a bit of work, but your repair seems better than the original. Looking forward to seeing it in action. Have a great week, 👋😎👍🍻 Ben
Hi Ben, A lot of holes to drill along with some awkward welding but overall more fun than I thought. I hope you're right and will make an update video. Thanks for the comment and watching.
Good job
Thanks.
Good morning Bryan, the mini excavator is perfect for the job 👍 Have a great week, Ben 👋😎👍
Hi Ben, It's fun to dig with. The only problem is that I want a bigger one now 🤑You have a great week too. Bryan
I just bought one, but I can't find the thumb control. Where the heck is this thing?
Mine is on lower left side of control. Next to the steering lever. Did yours have the hoses for the thumb?
@@semo-dyer5183 Thanks for the reply. I just found out mine didn't come with a hydraulic. I have to buy it, so I had to move the thumb manually by taking out the screws and readjusting the thumb 😁
Mine had the hydraulics when I bought it but the manual thumb. I bought the hydraulic thumb and it was a game changer since I have a lot of rock to deal with.
That came out like it was pre dug.
The roots on cedar trees on my place go wide not deep. Unfortunately they wind their way through the rocks but once you get them moving they will give up and pop out. Thanks for the comment.
Good afternoon Bryan, too bad about loosing the oak tree but you got a nice load of firewood out of it.👍 Hello to Granny Mary 👋 Have a great week, Ben
Hi Ben, I've been told that I will loose a lot of them since I cleared the land. So I'll enjoy them while I can and they'll keep me warm when the fall. Granny Mary says hi!
How incredibly optimistic at the beginning when you thought you'd just put the bucket under the stump and rip it out.🤣😂 This is why I usually recommend people without access to full size excavators just rent a stump grinder. You'd have been done in 15-20 minutes with no surrounding damage.
For sure. I've watched a friend dig up stumps with a Bobcat E85, it even struggled in my ground. The stump grinder has crossed my mind more than once. I do have a question, how do they handle rock? I've only watched videos that the stumps they ground were in dirt. Thanks for the comment and watching.
@@semo-dyer5183 stump grinders use carbide teeth, like asphalt grinders. They're pretty hearty on an occasional rock hit.
@@AndTheCorrectAnswerIs I'll have to try one out, thanks.
Do you order this one, SKU TYPH-2008? Thanks for the video.
Yes Sir. Here is where I bought mine. Took a little longer to get than I'm used to but It was well packaged, typhonmachinery.com/store/TYPHON-Attachments-Hydraulic-Thumb-Clip-Attachment-for-Mini-Excavators-USA-p503097126

Good afternoon Bryan, very nice and robust trailer and tailgate. I am trying to remember how the latches on a dump truck work. I'll have to pay attention the next time we get stone delivered. I enjoyed the video, have a good one, Ben 👋😎👍🍻
Hi Ben, Thanks, my biggest build project to date. I pulled out a lot of hair thinking on the design and fab but in the long run worth it. I had two other designs for the latch but often find the simplest solution is usually the best. At least this time it was the easiest to do too. Have a great day. Bryan
Ellie says “looks good grandpa “
Ripper attachment would come in handy there
I was thinking the same. I have one designed just need to get to work on it. I'll post another video once I get it done and try it. Thanks for the comment.
Very nicely done
Thanks Mom! Happy Mother's Day
Good afternoon Bryan, Really nice that the electric company took them down for you. Really enjoyed the speed of the video. Very Cool 👍 Have a great weekend, Ben 👋😎👍🍻
The AGT QH12 has a Briggs & Stratton lawnmower engine that works the hydraulics and tracks. It is slow and bounces and vibrates and it is noisy. Depth is 5.4 feet but I recommend not to dig deeper than 2 1/2 to 3 feet for safety reasons. Parts are made in China. If taken care of and not abused and not left outdoors uncovered, it will last several years. You will need earplugs, hopefully you do not have back problems, this machine is not good if you have kidney problems. It takes nearly 2 hours to dig a 6 foot long and 2 1/2 foot deep trench. As mentioned it is not fast. It is not a child's toy and needs to be careful around objects because it is made of steel. Cost ranges from $6,000 to $8,000 New and Used is $4,000 to $5,000. If you paid more than $6,000 then you have been had.
Good morning Bryan, sorry to hear about the damage, but I really enjoyed the video and your music selection. Have a great week, Ben 🍻
Hi Ben. Thanks. It all turned out ok. Have a great week too.
That was a bad storm we had to pull over at 55 and zell road other people on 55 north and south were stopped heavy rain and thunder lightning
You were not too far from my place. You should stop by some time.
Great job on dump trailer that should be very useful around property👍
For sure Jeff! Thanks for the comment.
Hello Bryan. I have to say, I am very impressed with this trailer, especially after seeing the state it was in when you started the build. I am guessing that just a piece of plastic or canvas bungied around the motor would keep debris and the elements off of it when not in use. Thanks for sharing this, Ben
Hi Ben and thanks. Thanks for the ideas too. I'm going to work on a tailgate next.
Daa just zip tie it
For sure, thanks for the idea.
👍
There are definitely some well fed critters around the homestead.
For sure. Thanks for the comment.
i come from china mini excavator factory,if you want to buy,can contact me.can provide best price
I plan to put 3 latches on each side instead of the hinge. The weather stripping from another commenter is a good idea too.
Hi Eric, After putting the hinge on I wish I would have just used latches too. Good Luck and thanks for watching and the comment.
I am attempting to install 7" cooling fans, I have two. Nobody said in any video what a PITA it is to remove the back panel on a QH12. It took me a good 4 hours to remove 6 bolts. Three were easy, the other three were near impossible to get at, those are what took the most time. Good thing I don't need them because I'm also putting hinges and latches on the rear panel. 7" inch Black Slim Fan Push Pull Electric Radiator Cooling 12V 800 CFM Mount Kit Universal. I can't put the link or youtube will delete this comment.
I've heard that too. I don't think mine was that bad. Well at least you're getting close to having it done. Sounds like your fans will help a lot.
I'm also going to replace the short control rods with longer ones which will make it easier to control the hydraulics. They are too darn touchy to control being so short.
My next mod is a pair of reversible 12V 80 Watt 8" fans. I have to get some automotive wiring and connectors and remove the rear panel. While I'm doing that I will hinge the rear panel for easy access. There is a video on the tube on installing a piano hinge on the left side as seen from the rear. The machine gets so hot I can't touch the engine bay panels, so I only run the machine for about an hour and then let it cool down.
That's what I did too. I saw a different idea for the rear cover that was pretty cool. The guy eliminated the hinge by using two sets of the cam type closers. Now he can take the cover off. Thought that was clever. Good luck!
