Opus 118 Harlem School of Music students and alumni from our 30 year history came together at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center to celebrate 25 years since our first Carnegie Hall performance made famous in feature film Music of the Heart and documentary film Small Wonders. Performers were led by renowned co-founder Roberta Guaspari.

Opus 118 We Shall Overcome

Students from Opus 118's In-School Programs and After-School ensembles perform "We Shall Overcome" with founder Roberta Guaspari. It has become tradition to play this song as the finale to our End of Year Concert Each year.

Loved the movie! God bless you Roberta. Without music, creativity is stifled. Music helps our children to think and create. We need thinkers and innovators in our society, not sheep. People like Roberta are vital!
