The problem with crabbing on the Yorkshire coast...volume 3.
Here on the Yorkshire coast, we are entering the busy tourist season. Crabbing is a very popular activity during this time. Whilst it's an educational activity that captivates children, when people aren't responsible enough to clear away their gear after use, problems occur. The local environment is affected with crab lines that entangle in boats and harbour infrastructure. Wildlife can get caught in them too. You may have seen my previous videos on this subject, of which there are two. Today, while cleaning up more crabbing gear in my role as a Harbour watchkeeper, I filmed these clips. I want to try and show you why it is important that you should enjoy crabbing responsibly, and I want to try and push that message out their as we begin the tourism season. In this video, I show you a new initiative, set up by the harbour authority to help encourage people to dispose of their crab lines responsibly.

I rented the kayak from the Stores Olde world wine bar, by the pier in Portsalon. This video is full length un edited. Shot in 5.3k but compressed in the download to my laptop. I'm not sure you can tell the difference!

Get a couple of responsible young people. let them set up a way of earning a few bob. give them the lines that have been in the box. They clean them at night and then sell them for about three pounds with bait, and when its home time and you don't want a smelly grab line in the car or holiday. cottage you take it back to them and get a pound or so back. they could do it for a charity, but, they would be doing everyone a favour!

Hi. No since its a ferry between Scotland and Northern Ireland, both in uk, a passport isn't required. ID is at the check in booth which i didn't film as we came in.

@@euancamm3810 thanks for your reply. I’ll do this trip with national express coach but I’m afraid I left all my identification document in Ireland where I live in. Do you believe they stopped to the bus to ask everybodies id. The ticket I bought sold by national express which included ferry as well.

One thing they didn't bloody check is our pet passport for the dogs. My parents spent 80 quid on that as we went to donegal for the week, over in the republic. And no one checked it. Mum was on the verge of begging someone to look at it to make it worth £ 80.

@@happycamper8707You don’t have to get your passport checked when travelling within the U.K. Northern Ireland is part of the U.K. No passport check on the border with the Republic of Ireland either
