In my channel, you'll find videos and updates on everything related to gardening.
I'll be sharing tips and tricks that I've learned along the way, so you can also create your own garden. Whether you have a huge backyard or just a small balcony, there will be something for everyone to enjoy and learn from.
One of my favorite things about gardening is the connection it provides with nature. Being able to witness the beauty of trees, flowers, and various plant life is truly a delight.
Additionally, growing my own veggies and fruits has been a rewarding experience, and eventually harvesting your own fresh produce. There's something incredibly satisfying about plucking a ripe tomato or picking a juicy strawberry from your own garden.
if you have a passion for gardening or simply want to explore the wonders of nature. Lets embark on this garden journey and discover the beauty and tranquility that comes with cultivating our own little piece of paradise. Let's create a beautiful world!

I am so excited to see how healthy this passion fruit vine is doing. This is less than a year old seedling I started earlier this year. I can't wait to see how it tastes. Do any of you have experience growing this purple passion fruit? I have the cold hardy one for my zone, but it doesn't taste good.

fall prep and cleanup. relocating plants.

Fall is a great time to plant, transplant, and relocate plants. This gives your plants time to root in before winter and it's not soo hot so the plants can recover. The weather is beautiful to be out in the garden.
Why is growing your own food hard!!
Переглядів 91Місяць тому
Nothing worse than growing your own food and fighting off the pest robbers. They come and eat everything and leave you nothing. And there's more pests then there are fruits. But you got to love the good with the bad. I forgot to mention that the seeds in the Thai guava is much harder then the seeds in the ruby supreme.

When most plants are done blooming. This rose of Sharon is still showing its flower power as we near the end of August. I would definitely recommend this flower for the garden. It can be in a bush or tree form and flooms from the beginning of summer until late fall. This plant Loves the heat!!!

Your roses are beautiful ❤❤❤
my mango is around 6 weeks old, I believe it got an infection because I cut a leaf with a dirty tool and now all its leaves have dark spots. should I prune all the leaves now? (with clean tools this time)
@aleisterj.r8848 what zone are you in? I world leave leaves on and treat it with a fungicide. Some type yes so baby it needs leaves. But hard to tell with no pictures. I hope it recovers. Good luck
I'm trying to grow these in zone 7b in Virginia because deer keep eating my other stuff but won't touch the papaya. My plan is to keep the trees potted and move them into our sunroom during the winter.
@timt6860 that's perfect idea!! And the fruit I've you have one fresh ripped off your tree. You will never go back to store bought ones. Wish you all the best...
I am in zone 8A in NC. I have 20 papaya in pots that are around 5 feet tall, two of them are 7 feet tall. I'll be putting them in my sunroom and planting them all out in the garden in the spring to see if they will produce large quantities before the frost gets them in the fall. I'm thinking I can make them an annual crop, as long as I get 4-5 foot plants in pots the year before I plant them out. Gives them a huge head start. Good luck to you!
@hannah20071000 oh, let me know how it goes. I thought they needed more time to mature to produce fruit. I may have to treat them as annuals, too.
@@simplegardening6196 You can get around 40 lbs of fruit off a papaya in zone 8 if you can get them to 4-5 feet in the year before. A 3 gallon pot, fertilizing a couple times is sufficient. I have a few papaya in 3 gallon pots that are blooming now and may set a fruit or two before the winter comes here in zone 8A. They won't grow any more and go dormant. I cease watering them except in very tiny amounts to prevent root rot. THen, the following spring when night time temps do not go below 40, plant them in a super sunny spot. They grow amazingly fast and will set fruit within a month or two. They will continue to do so until the winter. Many fruits will be able to be picked ripe, but you can pick the green ones too and eat them. I have three in the ground near my brick chimney on the south side of the house. I heat wiht wood and the brick stays over 80 degrees. I'm really hoping that if I cover them they will be able to remain in ground all winter. These three will do so much better than the others and I may get 200 lbs of fruit off those three plants next summer if they survive.
Where are you located how do I access you
I'm in Carrollton GA area. can meet up if interested.
Gorgeous flower! Hope to do this as well
Thank you! Cheers! I wish you best luck.
I now have a few that is about 3 ft tall, still skinny stem and in the pots. When and how should I trim them so they do not get too tall?
yes, eat skin and all
It's huge and beautiful
And by far, the best tasting guava yet. I love this variety.
@@simplegardening6196 good good
Yooo, you dont pull the engagement lever that quick. Its a clutch you slowly engage it. Let it gradually speed up and then it will grab. You dont just chuck it in haha suprised you didnt break it
💚Thanks💚
Where can i get some?
You can buy them online etsy sells them. I got mine from a local family nursery in Florida.
Thank you so much
Where can i order one??
@robinwine3957 they were at homedepot. But I have not seen them for awhile.
Omg i didn't realize that they had mophead TREES????

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I have adopted 6 dogs last year from Riverside County Animal Shelter in CA. That place is absolutely crazy kill shelter. They kill pregnant dogs and small puppies. This place broke my heart in pieces. I love all my fur babies. They are nice to each other. We're like one big family. God bless all kind people for helping homeless animals.
I miss not having my dog.
@@KateBates22zabu aww...I'm sorry what happened?
@@simplegardening6196 I took in an 11yo chichiuaua mix who's family went homeless. He passed 2 weeks after his 16th birthday. I still miss him every day. My family won't help me get another "bc they just die."
@@KateBates22zabu oh I am sorry to hear. It sounds like you gave him a long and happy life!!! They do make a lasting imprint in our hearts for sure. Xoxo
So u just cut it and stick it in soil, water it and it spring roots?
Yes !!! Seems simple enough but you do have to watch fir root rot. So that's why it's always hard to recommend the right medium for each viewer since we all garden in different zones with different level of humidity. They root very easy. Best of luck to you.
Plissss sell to meee, i wont it plisssssssssssss
I just randomly found one on my step this morning. There are none in my garden or on my block. I’d never seen this thing before which only made it seem otherworldly! Thank you for the video!!
Where do you get those shear bags to cover fruit? Thank you
@blaqfish i order them from Amazon. Good luck...thank you for stopping by.
Thanks 👍
Thank you for this video! We have some elephant ear plants that we want to dig up, divide, and transplant. It seems like removing the dead or overgrown leaves would make the process easier. Is there a reason we shouldn’t prune the dead or overgrown leaves before digging it up, dividing, and transplanting it?
Hi. Thank you for stopping by. No, it's much better to remove dead or dying leaves. You can also remove the leaves for easier transplant. but I still had time for growth and didn't want to cut back all the leaves. I wanted it to take in as much neutriient as possible.
Thank you so much!
Passion fruit? It's dragon fruit, the flower is nearly bigger than the cactus. I grew mine from seed so I still have a ways to go before I get fruit. The yellow fruit is nice and sweet but the red varieties that I have tried were not sweet. That's really nice, thanks.
Is hybrid papayas bears fruits both from male and female papaya's?
Hi. I am not sure if I understand your question. But if I am reading it right. The hybrid papaya will bear fruit without having another plant nearby to fertilize it. The old plants require 2 plants to near fruit. The hybrid only needs one, and it self pollinate.
@@simplegardening6196 I mean, will hybrid bear fruits even if it's a male tree? Btw, thank you for your response.
Hi, how did they do? I just learned there was a scarification process for these seeds… wondering if it’s a necessary step? I’m a new gardener
@khristinabell7099 welcome new gardener!! Glad you can join us. We are all in away new gardeners as we always learn and improve ourselves. I wish you great success. I had 4 successes out of all those seeds. I did not do stratification. Aube if I did I may have more success? I put them in the ground and weed eaten one the other day. But the other ones are still doing good. The process is easy but takes patient from seed to full plant.
It is not a 'threat" actually there is abundance of Nitrogen in human pee. It helps with the growth of a plant. Hope it helps. 💌
How can i prevent greying and burning leaves? The oldest leaves always end up superr grey i just got rid of a chunk of them and it made my plant look sad and elongated i want to chop and prop but id rather they get some more leaves and lengths first but i cant stop the greying leaves
They look like a smaller version of the middle pot i assume time is what gave it a thicker stalk?
@thatonechick6747 mine tend to only brown when it gets too much sun and needs more water. I'm sorry to hear that your leaves keep turning color like that. I would give it more shade u less it's already in the shade area, then I would give it water and make sure it drains well. Five fertilizer as well. Although they don't really flower, they are vigor grower and still need food.
@thatonechick6747 yes time gives it the thicker stalk. 😀
What soil mix do you use to pot your trees in for winter so there is no chance of over watering or root rot? The reason I am asking is because you guys were in the same zone I am in before they changed it to 8a, so I assume you are not able to plant them in the ground because the winter cold will kill them.
Hi. I use miracle grow and add in some fine pine mulch to help with the drainage since it's humid where I live. Moving to zone 8a, it still gets a few days if below freezing, and I don't want to risk it, so I will leave it in its pot. Good luck with yours!!!
Nice growth Simple -- mine had 2 out of 8 ripen - the others still not there yet, but i must say ,, they do not Taste to me like everyone else says they Taste -- I think i'll blame Covid ,, when i got it i lost and lot of taste to things and some slowly coming back -- My Maypot been dropping Fruit also -- i am kind getting use to the taste of them. Plus am planting some of the dried seeds in different ways. I need to repot my Guava also -- do you recommend doing that after the Fruit are all gone or wait till Winter Time? Where did you get you Thai Guava ??
@kchedville hi.. oh I have heard that people lost their taste with covid. That would be crazy to experience. I hope your taste fully comes back!!!. Qhat is a maypot? My june plum is also dropping fruit before fully ripening. I am not sue why either. May be my watering and not being consistent. I will set more of a schedule next year to see if that is the case. But I water the guava same as last year and they were amazing. I would wait until winter or when all your fruits have ripped and you get to collect. Transplanting in the middle of fruiting tends to stress them out. The Thai guava I got from a local mom and pop nursery. It appears she grew them from seed. I know there are some being sold on etsy as well. If they fruit. I can save some seed and start them and grow maybe I can sell a few on marketplace. I'll keep you posted if your interested. What zone do you garden in?
@@simplegardening6196 Thanks Simple, I'll wait till winter then. Maypop is also Purple Passion Fruit (Passiflora incarnata). I bought two 6 inche plants on line - put them in the ground and within 3 months they were over 8 feet tall and with 18 Fruit growing on them.. I think they grew much faster than my Banana Plants or Bamboo. And they are cold hardy - if winter kills the tops of them they say they always come back from the underground roots when summer comes. My new Grow Zone is 9a, use to be 8b. I don't think it will make that much of a Difference -- past winter was a pretty cold one -- and summer still seems to be the same (HOT and Humid) , specially in August.
❤❤❤❤
You're amazing with your garden, but how you grew these two must be a hidden superhero talent. Amazing work! 😅
Eat the skin & fresh not the seeds.
Wow so big & delicious!!
Rose of Sharon,, grandma's house,, south Mississippi,,,, your yard brings great memories looking like home❤❤❤❤
@Joseph-u6d those are the flowers that bring back warm memories!!! Thank you for stopping by. Have a great weekend.
My mango tree has gotten to be about six feet tall. If I cut it down to 1-2 feet tall, above a node…that would leave it with zero leaves and branches. My question is, will it grow some branches back?
Yes it will push out new growth from the node. I am realizing I need to grow mine higher as the dogs tend to like my fruit too. If they can reach the fruit it's fair game for them. Lol. Good luck!!!
@@simplegardening6196 thanks for the help!
So…, how’s the hydrangea after that heavy pruning? Can you provide some update?
Hi. Thank you for stopping by. Yes, I can do an update. I am sorry, sometimes I do so many things that I forgot to update after the initial video. I will continue to improve in this area. I hope you have success in your garden.
Do you have a followup video? Did it work?
Hi Ken. Sadly, it died. That fall/ winter, we moved to our 25 area, and it died during the moving process as I didn't have adequate shelter for it. I hope to try again.
@@simplegardening6196 Do you know if it rooted?
@MasterKenfucius I dont....by the time I check on it in the early spring it was all mushy from the wet cold damn humidity plus the extreme cold weather. Everything was brown so I was ubale to determine if it even had roots.
Aww... lots of puppy love!

Hi Dear How are you? Great. Your Content is fantastic, But your video SEO optimization section area is not perfectly up to date. Out of 100 that's score is 52.7 (at least 90+ SEO score is recommended), that's why your video is not reaching out to the people and you have not many subscribers, views, likes, watch time and comments.
