We Make History
Приєднався 22 гру 2013
Since 1999, We Make History has been providing creative, inspirational education centered on history and the arts. Among our many tools are our historical reenacting groups and events, historic dance, public speaking and dramatic presentations.
2015 Civil War Training Video
Several of our team (mostly NCOs) gathered as the 1st Virginia Infantry to film this footage which will become part of our Civil War training video. The footage shown here has not yet been edited other than for time. The project is still in production and the final version will include captions, descriptions and narration.
In Civil War reenacting, historic drill of the era is re-interpreted and applied in order to provide a high level of safety while maintaining an authentic look and feel. This footage is representative of how we do this in the 1st Virginia/1st Minnesota. The methods we use are common (though not universal) to the ANV. If you are not a member of our team and happen to be viewing this then you would be wise to consult with leaders of the unit you are part of so you may conform to their interpretations which may or may not be identical.
There was diversity even in the periof of 1861-1865 as several different drill manuals were used during the Civil War and it is also well know that commanders often made adaptations in "real life" situations.

Thank you for sharing this. I served in the Army and am amused by how few youngsters or even senior reenactors can march in step! I see the effort but they just miss it!
The Royal Welch Fusiliers never surrendered their colors at Yorktown. They smuggled it out by tying it around the ensign's waist.
I haven't been in Civil War Reenacting since 1994. I am really considering getting my old unit back together here in Central Louisiana. Co. D Catahoula Guerrillas, Wheat's Special Battalion (Later La. 19th infantry).
Jessie Smith Yeah do it!!
Nice vid man I am a big fan can you please sub
enjoyed the video and subscribed to your channel. Sharing one of my own Reenacting video with you ua-cam.com/video/tOzzkWahkus/v-deo.html
That was neat to see thank you for showing it :). I especially think it is neat that everyone is wearing some type of shell jacket which is kind of rare to see honestly. I could also learn to practice this yself because I plan on joining Re-enacting!
My second great grandfather was Ernest L.F. Miller in the 1st Minnesota at Gettysburg...My other great grandfather was Ernest Hainlin company B, 9th Minnesota captured at Guntown and survived in Andersonville prison...we are still on watch
Ernest was also part of the 1st Minnesota, April 29, 1861, he enlisted in Company H, First Minnesota; served only one year; was mustered out in consequence of ill-health. In August, 1862, having regained his health, he enlisted in Company B, Ninth Minnesota; was sergeant of the company, and was captured at the battle of Guntown, Mississippi, in June, 1864. He was held at Andersonville and Savannah until November 25, 1864, during which time he was commissioned second lieutenant, but did not receive it on account of his imprisonment. On being released he was acting sergeant-major until mustered out in August, 1865. In 1870 he was admitted to the bar of Minnesota, and since that time he has practiced law; for four years he served as county attorney.

Arizona Gunslingers look good in Virginia.
Outstanding!
Here is the official prayer of the Royal Welch Fusiliers. "Eternal God, whose strength raised up our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead, uphold, we pray, the ancient valour of The Royal Welch Fusiliers, that we may endeavour hardness after His example and may rise with Him to shine as the sun in Thy Kingdom, through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."
We hope everyone enjoys this little introduction to the American side of our Revolutionary War reenacting team.
Ahhh, Colonel Uffington's men. Their bravery and command of the battlefield is well known throughout the region. For King and Country! Huzzah!
