Why does he start with a black not a red?

Notice how he's playing with helping side on every shot. This is something that all the pros do, but a lot of amateurs don't even know about it. Playing with around half a tip of side, if it's a left cut, he puts on a trace of right spin, and the same for right cuts, a trace of left.

I sometimes wonder what ROS is on when he talks about keeping "his sponsors happy" by playing exhibitions in China. If this "event" was a Barometer going forward then is he seriously saying he is happy to play non entity events in front of non entity crowds whilst he is still near the height of his competitive Powers? By all accounts this event was poorly supported. All the way through, Tickets were between 90-360 gbp. Don't know how well off the average Chinese citizen is but that is a Joke.....

while i'm sure tepchaiya could do it as fast as ronnie, the balls here are initially perfectly scattered before the break. it's just a step more difficult than a line up 147. there's only 1 cluster of 3 reds to develop. and not to mention this is in practice with no pressure. ronnie's 147 will probably forever be the best maxi ever due to circumstances. world championships match match, 157 thousand pounds on the line... still played it like it was nothing. no other player could bring that mindset to a professional match. still, great break and thepchiaya is undoubtably one of the fastest and most talented players on the tour. just doesn't have that crazy ronnie mentality to produce ridiculous games in the toughest situations.
