Hiya thanks, I really like the Oxi but I've no experience of the Torso (seems very interesting though). It has enough tracks for me and there was a small learning curve. I really like the Elektron sequencer and it feels familiar in a lot of ways to this for me. I use it for all melodic sequencing and use the Rytms own sequencer for the rhythmic side. It is extremely well built and high quality and I like being able to use it with my iPad, pc and synths and it's very portable. I had the hapax which I also really liked and it was super powerful but it was more than I needed and Oxi won 🙂

@@likethetoffee I'm more like 75% ITB and it already bums me when I got bad sequencing options such as in Maschine so I can only imagine. But the instantaneity of all this must be really, really fun to play ! :D

My experience is very much the same, I used to do quite a bit of finger drumming on the Push 2, the small pads were a challenge but they felt really good. Then I got the Rytm and they are so stiff. I now will tend to record a pattern both live with the pads, one sound at a time, and sequenced and then just play this back and mute as you see me in the videos (no issues with the mute mode sensitivity)The Rytm is not good for finger drumming. I also tried them with the performance mode and found the same issue, you need to push hard... Having said that I will never sell my Rytm unless Elektron replace it with another combination drum machine/sampler as I love the sound.

@@likethetoffee Thanks for sharing. Im going to contact support and see what they think and I'll let you know. The price is so high for a main feature that takes up half the face of the machine to not work properly. Funny I dont play live as much, this is my first pad machine, but for the price I would have thought it would at the very least be usable.

To be honest I'm not sure, I've not long had it and have a lot to learn! However, I plan to explore the Stochastic and Matriceal modes which look like the space to go for getting interesting variations in pitch and rhythm...

Hi, no the Oxi is in charge of the melodic parts sequencing the two synths. I've not tried the Rytm with the Oxi as I've found external sequencers don't work with the mute function/pads on the Rytm and I prefer using them directly. Also the Rytm sequencing is very very capable and easier with p'locks etc... The synths need a good sequencer though! 🙂

Thank you for taking the time to check out my track. I recorded this listening through headphones and it sounded good then. I agree though as the atmospheric layer is too loud relatively. I think it’s a bit me and a bit the YT compression 👍

I think you have to be very selective about what you send to the fx block to avoid the punchy ++ you mention. I’m loving this box though as I can make a whole track with it and I take it out and about with me. I would like a better chord engine for pads but I’m not selling 😉

I like the analog four most of all. The syntakt analog synths are very nice but quirky and definitely ‘tighter’ than the turn. The digital synths tone and swarm are decent enough but not as much control as with digitone. The effects digi synths are very good e.g toys for perc type sounds. You can improve the feel though by using the FX block 😀 it’s a great portable machine for sketching things out in a lot of detail and I’m very happy with it 👍🏼

Hi thanks for the comment 😊 The digitone is the master for clock here and is sequencing a Rev2 arp patch to get this sound. The Octatrack is clocked by the digitone and I’m using it here to replay a live loop put through some effects for the break.

Yes very much, 12 tracks is great for building something that’s nice and interesting and the synths all sound good. The fx track adds something to them all. I’d really like an arp. though. I bought it for a portable all in one sketch pad with the idea to switch some of the tracks to midi machines to sequence my standalone synth - really fits the bill.

Hey, why did you return the Octatrack?

@@tonybucks5709 2 reasons, #1 it shut off randomly on me. #2 I have an analog rytm as a sampler so I didn't really need the octatrak to be just an extra-complicated mixer/fx machine.

@@LunchBandit seems like you got a faulty one probably. I think the Octa can do so much more, i have the mk1 version, 12 years old this year and still working flawlessly, the time stretching itself is fantastic and the thru machine it's amazing to process external audio coming in. The analog rytm is another massive piece of gear tho.
