It's a Magic Fluke Flea ukulele from the Magic Fluke company in Massachusetts. It was the first ukulele I ever bought myself. :)

@angrytourist lol. Some chords suck...do you do any finger warm ups like scales or the caterpillar? Also check your thumb position. Sometimes just popping it on the back of the uke is all it takes to open up the hand a bit.

Thanks so much. Yes, the ukulele has been good to a lot of us during the pandemic which was when I started doing a lot of tutorials for this channel. Now I teach more in person and have less time because all my young students want to learn Taylor Swift!😂

@@UkuleleWonderlandwithMelissa I'm okay with Taylor, and have a couple of hers on my to-learn list, but she falls into the category of "plenty of tutorials available online already!" And yeah, teaching youngsters in person, you pretty much gotta!

Yes, but if you want to use any gain staging like overdrive, fuzz etc you are better off searching for a solid body electric. Reverb, chorus, delay and other effects typically used down the pedal chain will sound good though. But if you have a built-in pick up in your amp and pedals, I say give it a shot and see what works. I play Joyner electric body ukuleles with my band, The Margaret Hooligans. But Risa and Flight offer them as well.

They may be - I am never sure how they determine levels. I figure if you can make those chords that places it at an advanced beginner level based on what I have seen from festivals where I teach. But, as always, slow it down where needed and if it is too hard, come back to it when you're further along.
