Hunting for Beach Agates and Moonstones on Washington State Beaches | ep.1
Переглядів 11 тис.4 роки тому
Recently there have been some pretty major storms hitting the coast of the Pacific Northwest. This is one of the best times of the year to go and hunt for some rocks! I got extremely lucky and hit gold so to speak. Amazing day hunting.

Westport is a unique coastal region in Washington state where large swells come directly in from the pacific - it is about 2 hours from Seattle nad easily accessible - PLEASE don't forget to like, comment and subscribe so that I have motivation to make more of these :) KEY surf spots at WESTPORT: www.mappery.com/Westhaven-Westport-Light-State...
What beach is this video from?
Not moonstones. Quartz. There aren't any moonstones on Pacific beaches. Moonstones are iridescent feldspars. These are quartz crystals that have been tumbled by the sea.
I’ve grown up in WA and your the first person I’ve ever heard say that there aren’t any moonstones on Pacific Coast Beaches?
Take a hard rake. I clear the top layer, that everyone sees.
So stage
What beach is this? Going tomorrow. Grew up on the other side of the water
7:25 Carnelin agate. Beautiful 😊
Yuuummm... Bet those chanterelles we're oh so good sauteed up. I love how when hunting for them the color is like the yolk of an egg; so vivid in the woods.
You get as excited as I do when crystal hunting!! I like your video💙
And a moss agate doesn't actually have moss on it lol
The clear ones with no banding is chalcedony bro
Including the so called moonstone probably chalcedony also
If you don't see banding then it's probably chalcedony
Do you ever dig near where you fund the lil ones? You will be THRILLED! There's larger agates buried underneath 🤐
Isn’t it funny to see yourself being afraid to be a outside on a beach…. 2 years later
Incredible rock hunting. i like the show.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Duddeee I wish you had more videos!
the one at 5:00 looks like what some would call a jasp-agate or mix of jasper and agate. same mineral different opacity
nice hunt! I'm from WA too and am guessing by the color of the agates that you're at DP? nevermind looks like DS based on the sunset!
Any tips for the South Salish Sea area?
Good job sweetheart, I'm going to subscribe to your videos to see what you find, God bless you dear...
Nice finds your channel is awesome. Just subscribed. I like recording and looking for agates as well looking forward to more of your uploads of rock hunts 👍
I personally don't have a problem with the wind, considering that's what it sounds like when you are filming in the wind 😉, all's well with you video guys and gals, we get it. Reality TV 😜
You don’t need a rock saw, just a Dremel and a few diamond coated cutting wheels.... oh! And some water (so u don’t destroy your cutting wheels on the first rock). I live in Washington as well and am always looking for new rock locations (mostly beach) , so thank you for the video. Always love seeing other rock hounders. Nice reminder that I’m not alone in the hunt for next awesome find. 😉
I live there and always search for agates! Lol I hold them in my hand while searching for more to get a better eye for them too haha
Would love to learn more about the beach agates
Nice
Good job!I had fun watching your videos.
gonna have to dig down about a foot into gravel pile ups tp get the big guys. nice finds.
The wind
which beach was this?!
Hard to tell but maybe around Westport or Damon Point? Lots of good agates and pet wood the two times I’ve rockhounded there.
I found a massive Carnelian Agate near Westport a couple of years ago. It was gigantic! I called it a horcrux from Harry Potter. Lol
Looks like a great time thanks for the vid late. Amigo
Where at on whidby. ??
I'm curious. What do you do with these? Do you polish? cut? make jewelry? . . . or . . . just have an agate collection?
YEEEEWWWWWW
nice videos lad keep it up shame about the wind noise apart from tht great vid
Wattsy rockhound uk I know right. I have other raw vids that I need to edit while quarantined. Better audio I promise
