I have one of his earliest pieces in for repair at the moment. Stellar work!
Wow, that's amazing. I've been itching to do an art guitar lately. Pretty inspiring stuff.
9:52 That ESP viper next to the mini Fankenstrat..... I own it now. 😁
HERE'S doug. Hi doug. Hi . I'm Patrick HAHAHAHAHAHA

Wtf im trippin. My names patrick ive also played in a few bands and am starting my first custom carved guitar... small world
Love the question about “Left Handed” guitars! Obviously being a Southpaw myself! Well done sir!!!
Is werewolf Pat still alive? No activity in 9 years. I hope he didn't die in the snow on the outskirts of Prague.
The only bad thing about this vid is the interviewer going ummhumm, ahhaa, the work is great.
Next level shit
great work !
Dude! PhilX Plays lefty almost as well as I do righty!! Bastard.
I mean upside down
Inspiration you talk about, I'm twice your age, when I look at you I see my self 30 years ago ,, I just couldn't play guitar worth a shit now things are different retired from the corporate world, it means a lot to me!!! anyway enough bullshit, your band KICK ASS!!!!!! Your ability to play Kick-Ass, your voice Kick-Ass so kick some ass brother , don't take a backseat to anybody go to the top that's where you belong, don't waste your time with a bunch of rock and roll flakes. You belong at the top. PS. I need to get 2 P-90 alnico 5???????
You're incorrectly pronouncing the name of his trade. He's not a "sculpture", as that's a piece that's been sculpted. He's a sculptor. And clearly a highly talented one.
Country of origin doesnt matter, great guitars are made all over the world everywhere, great video though.
U2 in the mid to late 90s was something else.
I want that!!!!$$!!!
Who made the finish work?
The finish was done by Marty Bell of Vista, Calif. You can look him up on the web. I also have done many custom finishes but my time is booked into next year. Marty is also a lot faster than me ;-) You can see more of our work at topgearguitar (dot) com - Each guitar photo on the home page lists whether I did the finish or Marty did it.
Danny Boy great! I want to refinish ma American Vintage strat in Candy Apple Red but I really wish to have a results like the Fender factory finish...
Would a fender/squier pickguard fit on the guitar?
Does anyone know where i can get a hold of a rickenbacker guitar at a affordable price range?
Doug carved my Electric Lady Land Guitar. It's a true master piece!
You look like a cross between Micheal Shannon mixed with Christopher Walken
I have a 625 model made in September 1962. The neck is still as straight as an arrow...never touched the truss rods...the strings are very low to the fretboard...very easy to play...love the sounds i can get.
He's better upside-down than most are right-side-up. Though that did sound a bit like me trying my hand at Zep. Cool "challenge".
Phil is one of the last TRUE rockstars. This man was created in the image of the rock gods.
bella, bella, bella pero non posso permettermela mai
Nice work man!
I found this video when I searched "Retards In Snow" it was the top video in the list. THANKS GOOGLE!
i own 2 rics, the first a fireglo 330 left hand, perfect guitar, ive had that since 1993, the second is a mapleglo 330 12 left hand, which the bridge saddles were cut so bad that both the E and A strings sounded like they had constant fret buzz. i spent a fortune finding out what was causing that dam fret buzz, all in all i was more then happy with the first guitar and really surprised on the shoddy workmanship on the 330,12 string.......i guess you cannot win them all.
My1971 Rickenbacker 360 Delux i still my main guitar since I bought it new, way back then... Can play everything on it.... Amazing guitar...
Excellent work. You never stopped rockin it Brudda.
Great interview, thanks!

Amazing video amazing dudes!! Wonder if he did play a gig in Prague?
What a great video. Watching a true craftsman at work and telling some great stories from back in the day. Thanks for posting.
nice guitars wat song was playing in the start of the vid plZZ ANYONE
I worked with Scott when he was a member of Joshua Tree. The bass looked and sounded great. For the idiot that said it was the 'gayest bass ever'... Your post is a show of your ignorance.
"OH MY GOD, HOW CAN THOSE PEOPLE SLEEP AT NIGHT CHARGING THAT MUCH FOR A STUPID GUITAR?!?!" What you have to realize is that these are made in America. And I just don't get people giving Rickenbacker crap for the price. There are plenty of Gibson's, Gretsch's, and Fender's that are at least 2x more than a Rick. I guess it's because people don't think that they are versatile. I have played a couple of Ricks now, and I can say that they are not only for Beatles, Byrds, or Who enthusiasts. There are loads of new bands these days that play Ricks, such as The Walkmen, Tame Impala, Kasabian, Coldplay, and others.
oh thank god.. they are making leftys again :D
some are great and some are awful...,..beware buddy ....i know
It would be a nice attention to detail if they would stop binding their frets and then dipping the neck t in a vat of lacquer...making them impossible to replace
I’ve had my ‘75 4001 refretted twice with no problems. Maybe you’ll need to find a more proficient luthier?
Looking Good. Glad you came to Rapid City. You and Carla were wonderful. Love the guitars.
Lovely guy. I used to think he was an out-of-control 'knob'. How wrong was I ?
Like your necklace Doug......................
Nothing like Rickenbacker electric 12 string guitars.
At the least the Beatles could play, But they switched to Gibson, Fender, Epiphone, I always liked Rickenbacker basses but never really played one.
They are great.
If you play a 4001 from the mid ‘70s you’ll know what the fuss is all about. Definitely a labor of love but you’ll never find a nicer playing neck. They were all hand made then so no two are exactly alike. I lucked out. I see your comment from 7 years ago, hopefully you have one by now…
