Hi! Thanks for watching! It looks like a good family coaster that will be a good point of competition against wicker man in AT imo. I love that it goes backwards but I’m yet to ride it. Hopefully will be going back to Drayton in the next few years. Unfortunately it’s not a park I visit all that often these days

i think it’s more of taking the original ideas and making it into your own concept rather than mourning over what we didn’t get. it’s making something new, which inherently isn’t being stuck in the past

You don’t pay for the rides separately. You do have to pay for the standard extras like food, drink and if you decide to purchase merchandise or a ride photo. If you choose to stay then Efteling have packet deals including hotel and entry tickets and you can get decent discounts if you choose to stay at Efteling

Thank you for watching! I hadn't realised how recently Carnival Festival had been updated! From looking back on old images of the ride via a quick Google search I do see that they have updated it for the better, though in my opinion it still relies heavily on stereotypes that may be a little outdated for modern audiences. I understand that stereotypes come from somewhere and that it's difficult to show "around the world" without a little stereotyping, although I'd say some of the stereotypes weren't exactly positive ones. Although the faces have been updated for some of the models, I think that things like large teeth, for instance, don't necessarily come with a positive representation. Also, I wasn't really sure about the winking lady in France or the monster faces in the UK section, though these weren't huge issues. I definitely think the worst is that black people were being represented only by a jungle scene was quite bad. Africa has many wonderful places that could have been represented in some way but this is all we got. We took a while going through Europe and a small part of Asia, it would have been nice to extend the scene a little considering how packed some of the other areas were with additional models. I think the Asian scenes got the most TLC, from the quick Google search and although it has definitely improved I think that it could be even better. Like I said, having a trip around the world on a ride is obviously going to rely on some stereotypes, I just wish some of the cultures were represented to be even better. I enjoyed the majority of the ride overall, including (obviously) the music, which was a bop. But I personally believe that Efteling needs to take a further review of the ride scenes. I feel as though I'd like the ride to have a little PC review to ensure that the ride represents people and their cultures more accurately. Sorry, I know this is a super long reply and I hope that I got my point over between the waffle haha. I always appreciate different perspectives and opinions.

@@FoolishMortalLife I understand what you mean. THe African scene is much better now imo. There have traditional clothes and hair and are no longer savages. The jungle scene could not be changed a lot, due to the water and the size of the room. The choices for lands/regions stayed the same as before. It is important to note that all the figures from all the countries are clowns, hence the "monsters"in the UK. The winking lady is standing next to the moulin rouge, known as part of the red light district of Paris. The big teeth of the asian puppets could have been changed maybe, but for me that was not necessary. Other figures (not Asian) also have very large teeth (in the Dutch section and also in the German one). In my opinion being overly political correct would not fit the attraction, as it is tradition to poke some fun at stereotypes at Carnaval. As long as the stereotypes are not overly racist. I was all for changing some of it, especially the African section, but keeping the fun a bit. It is of course one of the older attractions in the park and it has aged the most of the dark rides. Maybe they will change it again in the future or replace with something else, but for now, I think they did a good enough job. I expect that if it ever gets replaced, something similar but better will be built with the same music, like they are doing right now with Dance Macabre. We all love (or hate) the music most about the ride.

@@Nitzpitz I get your perspective I just think I’d feel more comfortable with a little more PC polish haha I wouldn’t be jumping for joy for them to close it permanently or replace it with a different attraction that’s the same but boring in fear of offending someone. I just think a little more political correctness would be ideal, at least for me to enjoy it a little easier. I’ve just listened to the Danse Macabre music and gotta say I’m loving it! Will have to go back once the new attraction is opened for sure! I will absolutely need to go back to Efteling and if their new rides are anything like the rides that they currently have it’ll be a winner for sure!

@@FoolishMortalLife Efteling spends a lot of time and money in making sure their attractions are always unique and different. Dance macabre will be a first of its kind, like Vila Volta was the first mad house. The Python was the first double loop coaster in Europe and piranha the first rapids in Europe. They are always trying to innovate. Hope you get a day extra when you visit again. If you stay on site, entry in included in the hotel price (for all days of you stay). I recommend staying at Bosrijk or Loonsche land if the Grand hotel is not yet finished (looking forward to staying there too). You missed some of the smaller attractions that make Efteling even more fun. It really is a 2 day park.

@@Nitzpitz I hadn't realised how many 1st's Efteling had! Honestly, I had thought it was just a cute fairytale-y theme park before I went but knowing how innovative they are makes me love it more. We had planned initially to stay 2 nights over my birthday but left the booking too late and ended up going to Amsterdam and having a 1-day trip to Efteling. I will absolutely be staying onsite next time. I want to be able to take in the sights a little more too as we absolutely enjoyed our taster day and made the most of it, but we were a bit rushed trying to do as many Efteling-y things as we could possibly manage. Not going to lie, I fell in love with it as soon as I saw the entrance! Thank you for the tips, I really look forward to going back (hopefully) soon!

Oh wow! The more you know. I can’t believe how long it’s been open

They had their big 70 year anniversary last year. It all started with the fairytale forest. And it's still there. Childhood memories for a lot of Dutch people. We are so proud of our Efteling. I love international vlogs about this beautiful park

@@dutchieq3059 wow! I’m sad to have missed out with that celebration I bet it was great. I didn’t know much going in as I wanted it to be a surprise and remembered some bits from here and there from my last visit in 2003. It was great to experience (mostly) going in blind but since then I’ve done a little more research on rides and their supporting stories. I bet it was wonderful growing up with the park! It was really wonderful to experience it. Absolutely be proud of it!!

Walt Disney never visited the Efteling. He was in NL in 1951, when the Fairytale Forest hadn't opened yet. It's an urban myth

Event tho I love the story of Disney visiting Efteling it is unfortunatly a myth. Even Efteling admitted it. Disney did visit Madurodam an Tivoli garden for his Disney park inspiration. There is a big connection with Disney and Efteling tho. Both ask each others help all the time. And Disney's Tony Baxter even nominated Efteling for a big theme park award

UK does love a scary theme for for sure! Though I still say phantom manor and haunted mansion did an overall better job than Alton towers, the curse at Alton manor maybe slightly creepier. Maybe I need a reride to solidify my opinion for sure

@Foolish Mortal In Disney Definitely, I think Disney have the power of extra money, and less originality due to them being based off the movies, therefore theming isn't a problem as you have all of those movies to theme off The only movie themed rides we have are Saw and Walking Dead and kinda Gangsta Granny

You’ll enjoy it just don’t queue too long for it haha
