I got the 160mhz working by setting channel bandwidth to 160 only instead of mixed. I'll see if this WMM thing set to ENABLED will make it more stable, thanks!
You are welcome!
Thank you for the video, may I please ask how do you get that floating window with latency details like at 4:01 ?
Sure! You need to have the Virtual Desktop app. Then, navigate to the Streaming section and enable the 'Show performance overlay' checkbox.
HURRAY!! I wasn't able to achieve 2400 even after setting it to dedicated 160mhz. I almost was thinking of purchasing a used dedicated wifi 6e router to get 2400. Well!! all my asus rt-ax86u pro needed was a firmware upgrade to the latest version and WHALA!! 2400 up and down. Now my VR games look so much sharper and smoother which before used to stutter.
Even though everything is smooth, I still get 1200mbps instead of 2400.
THAK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!! After these few tweaks, my Asus RT-ax86u is now blazing fast. I can play all my games streamed from my bedroom PC to the living room on my Quest 3 butter smooth with all VR game graphics settings maxed out. I almost thought that my RT-AX86u was not good for wireless VR gaming which is why I bought it in the first place.
It's always great when the hardware meets its full potential. Happy gaming, and thanks for sharing your success story!
Update: Great news for RT-AX92U users - this solution is compatible with your router too! If you encounter any issues, tweaking the control channel settings could be beneficial. A huge shoutout to @christophzochling6773 for this insightful tip!
thank you so much!!! it's also working with my asus rt-ax92u now BUT I had to find the "right" control channel > 116 worked for me in the end with your settings! I was already about making an expensive decission 😂
Nice to hear it worked for you with the ASUS RT-AX92U, and great tip about finding the right control channel! It's always satisfying when a solution can be found without needing to make expensive changes. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Didn't work for me until i started changing control channel. Had to change 5 times before my speed actually hit 2400, had anything between 500 and 1200 on the 4 first tries. For anyone wondering, it's the field right beneath the "Enable 160MHz" row in the video @2:58
and then a few hours later it went back to 1200 on its own
@@michaelandersson4558 same happened here all the time...gave up and bought a TP axe75...works without any problem on 5ghz...on 6ghz I have some hiccups
😔 'Promo sm'
connect your router to the ethernet port,
Thanks for your comment! It's worth considering that there might be scenarios where: 1. A PC or laptop isn't available for a direct Ethernet connection. 2. The PC is located too far from the router to feasibly use an Ethernet cable. In such cases, optimizing the WiFi connection becomes essential. Looking forward to more suggestions and insights!
amazing
Thank you! Cheers!
