WW2 3rd ID 30th IR impression | Nov 43 - Feb 44 | monte cassino Italy
Переглядів 1,9 тис.Рік тому
Hello! In this video I'll show you my 3rd ID impression for November 1943 to February 1944. This gear would be seen for the landings in south Italy, the fights at the winter line, Monte Cassino and the battle for Cisterna. The gear is pretty straight forward and there are no real weird items. These guys kept very little on them to minimalize heat and exhaustion in the warm Italy. Although they ...

Battle of Prümm impression | 4th ID | Febr. 4th-12th 1945
Переглядів 1,8 тис.Рік тому
In this video I'll show you my WW2 4th ID, 22nd IR impression for the battle of Prümm that lasted from the 4th until the 12th of February 1945. I find this division and time of the war really interesting because of the quite big changes and varieties of gear within one unit. The M43 uniform became pretty much the only seen jacket in this period and the OD7 equipment became really popular. If yo...
Would the mackinaw jacket be accurate for this impression?
Im gonna be honesy mate italy wouldve been bloody freezing cold in the winter especially at monte cassino
Very nice .
Great video, can you do a video or a suggestion on how you age your reproductions? I was fooled by some pieces because they look worn like originals!
To stop the shovel handle from swinging around, just put the strap over the shovel handle.
I know a lot of people do this but I don’t like it since it limits your movement and if you’re pack is filled it doesn’t swing much anyway
I e seen pictures of soldiers wearing their m41 jackets inside out. I’m guessing they weren’t retarded or trying to sneak home Saturday morning. I’ve heard they thought the darker green lining blended better with the terrain than the lighter green.
Did you draw that soldier yourself?
What m41 do you have?
This one is from la petite musette but there isn’t a specific brand on it.
This is great, some of the best reenactment impression videos on youtube
Thank you very much this means a lot!

Thanks a lot!
I'm trying to put together a US rifleman impression right now. This is pretty invaluable, thanks!
Glad I can help!
Rất tuyệt vời video của bạn... đã sưu tầm những món đồ thời chiến tranh thật tuyệt
Thanks a lot! I try to do my best!
I have a 1st Cav patch on my HBT. Korea & (Pacific) WWII 521 days of combat, but then again I wear it year round not just for or at events. I also wear an M43 field coat with 15th Cav Group on it. The Cav RCN in WWII did wear insignia,. The 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 15th , 17th sqdrn, 106th & 113th Regiments all had official regulation patches. No one ever talks about Mechanized Cav. but every single div had Cav RCN Troop/Company. the ones of regiment in size were corps & army level recon, flank security & they were Task Force Raiders.
That’s amazing. I know that some units did wear patches I specifically spoke about the 4th.
You don’t sound American, how did you get an M1 Garand outside the US?
Hi, no I’m not American it’s a replica M1 Garand so it doesn’t fire.
Awesome you’ve got a new subscriber
Thanks a lot! Appreciate it!
Nice kit layout, good information
Thanks a lot mean it means a lot too me!
❤❤❤❤💯💯💯💯💯💯
This is a really nice uniform
Thanks a lot!
Your impression is really nice. I have a question though, is it accurate to sew the division patch on the HBT jacket? Edit: Also, did any Americans in WW2 carry their shovels on their belt? (specifically the m1928 one)
Thank you! Patches on HBT’s vary from division to division. The 4th didn’t usually patch them but sometimes you do see a divisional patch on the jacket. Ranks were never done by the 4th. I do advise you to not patch them for more historical accuracy since it was so rare. I can’t really speak for other divisions but for example I know that the 2nd division did patch and rank their HBT’s Shovels were worn on the belt very regularly since it was more comfortable and that way you could leave your pack behind and still carry your shovel. Mostly M43’s we’re carried on belts the M1910 was more commonly left on the M1928 pack. I hope I could help you with your questions!
@@TheFrontlineFiles-cx6dt Thank you for the help! Also, if its ok to ask, did soldiers wear M42 trousers with just their HBT jacket sometimes? I don't see anything when I google it.
@@I-like-history as far as I know no soldier would wear the airborne M42’s with HBT jackets. HBT’s were army while M42’s were airborne so I don’t think those would be worn together
@@TheFrontlineFiles-cx6dt I think I got the name wrong, I meant the sand green looking trousers, sorry
@@I-like-history oh right the M37’s. No problem. Well it could be possible but it would be more common for them to wear only HBT trousers without the jacket then the jacket without the trousers. That would only happen when the trousers were ripped for example
This is killer dude!!
Thanks man!
@@TheFrontlineFiles-cx6dt absolutely!
Awesome!
Thanks a lot!

I was assigned to the 4th Infantry in my war. Overseas for more than a year. Felt fortunate not to be issued weapons from world wars.
Wow, my respects to you sir. Thank you for your service! Yeah I can believe you wouldn’t want them but back in ww2 you would be pretty happy to have an M1 haha.
Your kit is looking very good, was it a common thing to cut out the gas flap in the shirt?
Thank you! It was not uncommon. It depended on the soldier. Once they realized no gas was going to be used to sometimes cut them out for ease. It is something that is in the way and you can use the fabric for field repairs.
@@TheFrontlineFiles-cx6dt Best I find my scissors 😄
Where did you get the french language guide from?😁
Paratrooper.fr it’s not expensive and I think you can get it at more places.
