If you ever feel like revisiting this idea, there are more options these days. Special stock that disables sprinting but increases movespeed by 30%. Could repurpose this into a mod to simulate L4D, not being able to outrun the fastest zombies. Increase the spawn limit, I believe it's 30 in vanilla due to some zombies not dying on headshots, or resource constraints idk. L4D had a spawn limit but it was extremely high and could be bypassed even in vanilla. Make the Reeker a lot squishier but a tad faster, maybe an AI rework to make him camp corners like the Boomer in L4D, would actually allow him to fill his role as a horde spawner, since it doesn't happen often, he's too slow and can be stumbled with a high healthbar anyway. Make headshots instakill all common ridden, as well as the stalker/stinger/hocker/urchin, since they're the closest thing to the oneshottable special infected in L4D. It wasn't hardcoded in L4D, headshots just dealt enough damage with all guns to oneshot most enemies. Tons of other ideas, I reckon they came to you naturally but were a tad difficult to implement, no one really had incentive to mod the game whilst TRS was updating it, it was already difficult to mod and people didn't wanna bother. Now that they're done with it tho, modding can take off. Far as I've read, modding this game is not impossible nor difficult for those so inclined, it's just volatile since a lot of mod users wouldn't touch mods with a barge pole, primarily due to EAC and fear of getting banned from online play. In my experience, modding doesn't get you banned, at all. I've used something as overt as a trainer in an online lobby (with mates, not randos, dw) as a test. All my cheats worked, affected those in my lobby, and I was not banned at all. I'm not going to recommend you do that, since I have no clue if reporting someone does anything, I've not tested it, nor will I.

probably works just not for me :/ the key i wanna remap is the key right next to my lshift key, but it doesn’t work no matter what i try. it’s really annoying me since im so used to having my shift where the new button is. i’m trying to find a solution but nothing worked so far

Arbitrary Code Execution isn't as much a glitch as it is more of a manipulation of the game to manipulate and/or create more game. I've seen people recreate through ACE-TASes games inside games. It's more like an exploit. It's closer to what hackers do, actually.
