Welcome to I Can Do That NYC aka ICDT NYC. We are a performing arts school in New York City led by Broadway veterans, Jeffrey Schecter (A Chorus Line, Fiddler on the Roof) and Melissa Swender (The Phantom of the Opera, Wonderful Town). We share videos of our classes, camps, birthday parties, coaching's and sometimes brief moments of brilliance by our students and teachers. Our goal is to introduce kids and teens to the amazing world of musical theatre and dance.
Lion King Summer '24
This summer at I Can Do That NYC we presented a new show every week. For week 1, we only had 4 days but managed to do some amazing work with these kids. Please enjoy scenes and songs from, "The Lion King." Kids are ages 5.5 - 11.

So Long 2023

For the final show of the year in our Friday Musical theatre class we did a "Best of Broadway." Our closing number was "So Long, Farewell" from THE SOUND OF MUSIC. This is short clip of that number. What a perfect way to say Goodbye to 2023. Happy New Year!!

For our final show of our summer 2023 season we presented scenes and songs from, "Frozen Jr." This was the first time in our 8 year history that we were able to get our actors into an actual theatre with sound, lights and costumes. Every summer we perform scenes and songs from different musicals in our Summer musical theatre camp. This is scenes and songs from "The Wizard of Oz." Camp is made up of kids between the ages of 5.5 and 12. We transform a martial arts studio to give the kids a fun theatrical experience. Enjoy.

Kids are ages 5.5 - 12 and only have 5 days to learn all their material. It's amazing what we accomplish together. Summer 2021 allowed us to be back in person and we had a blast. We presented a new show every week for 6 weeks of summer Musical theatre camp. This is scenes and songs from the musical, SHREK. Our regular space wasn't available but we were fortunate to make new friends with a martial arts facility and it proved to be an awesome space for us to create.

We had a blast in our final musical theatre class presentation for our 6th year with ICDT NYC. We finally did a Holiday show and performed scenes and songs from Elf Junior. This is our Friday Musical Theatre class. Kids are ages 9 - 12 and they did a great job.
