This video helped big time.. passed my cdl road test last Friday
Great to hear!
Literally South Carolina changed to this test right before I graduated driving school and I’m glad they did cause that 90 is ass bro
I take my test tomorrow the 24th
Is this a 30ft trailer in the video?? If so are u suppose to do hard turns in the beginning of exercise.. I’m confused on that part.. I have co workers training me but there not certified trainers
I have a 30 ft trailer and I can get in sometimes but I’m trying to be consistent. Any tips. I have 2 people teaching me different things and it’s frustrating
The trailer in the video is 25’. It is ALWAYS best in the skills portion to move smooth and small turns to achieve the adjustment of the trailer when desired.
About to test may 17 at 8am 🙏 😩
You can do it. Have a good nights rest. Bring your permit and DL. Stay calm.
Mine is on the 16th same time
You pass?
@@Idontknowjamal I did no job tho
I gotta do this with a 53 foot trailer next Tuesday
how'd you do? xD i gotta do this tomorrow
@@gengarjuice69 i failed on number 1 because she told me that once i stop i cant pull forward anymore and i was used to stopping then gently moving forward until im in the box, so i stopped too early. I got everything else just fine.
How long is the dashed section that you cross? Looks longer than 50’?
The dashed line is 60’. Referring to the DL-650 CA handbook.
Im in NETTTS in Somers, CT...i live in mass. They are teaching us alley dock ans parellel. They no longer donthat in mass
they still hit the fornt left cone on forward offset and rear offset
When to use your horn
the dmv where am at in cali, the right rear tire needs to be inside that. little box when doing the foward offset maneuver and the instructor asks to pull your breaks and blow the horn
👍 Correct. However in specific situations the examiner will hold up his/her hand like this ✊which informs the student when to stop therefore will not require the student to pull the air horn
@@rgwtruckdrivingschool7797 oh okay 👍
Is there a ride along also after this on the road?
Yes. At the DMV test the examiner will ask the student to proceed on a given route. In class we will take the student on a brief ride to explain properly the clutching and shifting technique as well as safety guidelines.
How do you know when your front bumper is in the box? Any tips to help with that?
Great question. Two ways 1) Pick a point of your tractor and the front two cones. 2) Depending on the tractor length from the drive axle and power axle the power axle hub aligns perfectly with the second cone from the front box. Once you have these aligned your front bumper will be in the three foot box.
I don't understand backing into a 3' box when we always back into a dock and not a space. Also, I see the written test has many questions that have absolutely nothing to do with driving a truck, such as 'when does a person pass out and die from drinking beer or whisky'?
California CDL
What state is this for?
Every state
😂😂😂😂😂😂really??????????? This kind of truck and trailer if you failed you must be very dumb.no hard feelings is a fact.real school if they care about students then they teach with sleeper, stick shift,53 foot van or at least daycab with 20 foot van.the only people profit here is school and students,,,,oh well most likely crash.yes you can get ur CDL but no experience with real big boy.u mind as well take a Dually truck and a small trailer to get CDL.no hard feelings.im not trying to disrespect any one so please dont take it wrong way..i think for safety of everyone all states should demand all schools to have semi and 53 foot van.i got my CDL with a small setup so i thought who cares as long as im getting my CDL and yes i did get my CDL 1st time with lots a pre-trip inspections study but when i got a job and they gave me a sleeper with 53 foot van,i have to say it was scary.luckily it was a team driving and partner was very nice to drive at day and I drove at night no traffic but took some time with his help for me to drive with confident.
This so darn hard
I am going to be creating this course in my game, is there a diagram that you have how follow from the DMV when it comes to the size truck and trailer, and how many feel wide is the area?
Great question. A diagram is found in the Commercial Drivers License Handbook Document # DL 650 x Date 1/2023. I believe you can find it online as a PDF. The lane width remains the same at 12’
I was having the hardest time at trucking school with the skills part. I downloaded your game and it helped me a lot. Thank you
Thank you for your interest in our little school
Thank you for that video
As a reminder. This is not all inclusive, additional information and attending a truck driving school is required.
I be going to get tested So the first part 1 time stop does examiner tell us to stop or i have to figure it out when to stop first exercise thanks I find exercise 4 easier then 1st part I know right makes no sense 😂
If you’re referring to the first pull up, the driver will stop when the front bumper is within the 3 foot box area. The examiner will not tell you when to stop, this is up to you.
Thanks
Thanks Tim for your help I really appreciate it , I passed my DMV test today
Anything different on the pretrip or same thing?
@@joseeuceda411well for starts they want you to do the air brakes and in cab first then pretrip but there is no more form abc on the pretrip so they give you this piece of paper to tell you what some things are they don’t care about the tread depth on the drive tires only the steer tires they said it’s a entire new system
@@alexiosneal3196 I don't want to rush when I do my pre trip I need fee seconds to think what I have to say is that ok
@@AmericanTrucker89 yeah take your time
Thanks!
Nice. Thanks Tim this helps a lot 😊
