I tried the one chip challenge
First time trying the Paqui one chip challenge. It smelled very pungent and thankfully I only but off one corner. There’s no way I could’ve eaten the whole chip.

TriStar Viper G2 16 gauge

Overall a very good shotgun for the money. Just a little finicky on ammo. Hopefully it just needs a very good break in. I wanted to add that Winchester super X #8 and Remington express #6 in 16ga was 100% reliable. Federal game loads #6 made this shotgun basically a single shot. The shotgun was disassembled, cleaned & lubricated before using for the first time and after each time at the range.

Glock 23 bowling pin match

Me using my factory stock Glock 23 gen 4 which is also my EDC at our weekly bowling pin match. For this match we set out 3 pins with the tops cut and two tops. Load 6 rounds only and at the start, shoot until the table is clear or until you’re out of ammo. It’s not against the clock, your shooting against an opponent.

I’m looking into starting to reload. Just starting to do research on all of it. Have you double checked with a scale to make sure that press is consistently adding the correct amount of powder and shot?
@@chadamick3282 hi yeah every now and then I check with both a beam scale and digital scale just for piece of mind but once set up it’s fairly consistent with the charges.
He had one bullet left 😢
Comes loose after 12 or 20 mags? I would have cleaned the gun by then which includes taking it down which includes removing and reinstalling the takedown screw, so is it really a problem?
Love the video are you doing idea or uspsa
This is IDPA which leans more into defensive scenarios. USPSA is a lot more competitive & quicker paced. I tried both & you can’t go wrong getting into either. IDPA is cheaper though. Lol
Thanks I am trying to find out if my metro area in the city I live in has it
I forgot kahr makes a 7 round magazine for the cw 40 I have the kahr p40
I've got to get this. I've got many boxes of 20 gauge 6 and 7.5 bird loads but looking to make BB which I can't find. I've reached out to Lee asking if their press supports such. Thanks for the video!
The stovepiping is because the ejector (not extractor) is out of alignment in the slide. It's not an EXTRACTOR issue. You have to bend the ejector so it doesn't touch the slide.
All you have to do is put a little locktite 242 [ the blue stuff, NOT the red ] on the end threads of the barrel screw, and I also use it on the barrel/receiver set screw, and I never, ever, never, never, ever, ever, ever......have a problem with screws shooting loose. DO NOT use a lock washer on the barrel screw, as some have suggested.....why ?? Because a lock washer is going to booger up the finish on your gun. Come time, IF, you decide to sell your gun, you WILL regret having done that, it will decrease the value on your gun. Just use a judicial use of some #242. !
Cant see nothing
I have the 20 ga version, which weighs 6lbs 3oz. I really like it and am thinking about picking up the 16 if it weighs less than my SA-08. What does yours weigh?
It weighs around 5.5-6lbs. I really like it and been using it more & more for hunting. I think 16 is the way to go for bird hunting
Definitely a good lawn mower beer for a hot day
I recently tried the Shiners Sea salt and Lime, another great lawn mower/beach beer. Thanks! 🍻
@@CaptainRon956 definitely try their berry weise beer and the prickly pear
I have 3 of those that I have purchased over the past six years. If any screw is coming loose you are not torquing it tight enough. I do put loctite on the rail and sight screws. I have had my take down screw come loose about 2 times in the past six years. Thanks for the video keep on keeping on.
👍💘💙
I know I'm late to the party but you should have run a box of heavy loads threw it before shooting any light loads. I have the Viper g2 20ga. I shot 5 slugs and 5 3" #5 turkey loads and 20 #5 heavy loads when I got mine. Prolly put 3500rnds through it and it had never hiccuped!
The gun ran flawlessly with Remington 1-1/8 oz loads and Winchester 1-1/8oz #8. It just wouldn’t cycle with federal game load 1oz #6. Thanks for the info! I’ve been eyeballing the Viper in 20ga recently 😉
Thanks for your response, after some good cleaning, I got to shoot it for the first time in over thirty years,,it was my Grandfathers, then went to my Dad then my older brother, and now its mine after my brother passed away last year. THANKS AGAIN
How does it handle steel
Never tried steel shot however the instructions say to “never shoot steel shot thru a full choke, only used modified or improved cylinder or skeet chokes”
@@CaptainRon956 thank you
Nice video. I'm from the RGV also. I have never hunted in my life up until this past late dove season from December 17th through January 22nd. My family and friends never hunted so I had no one to teach me. But I ended up getting my hunting license this year and also completed my hunters education course. I learned all I could from watching UA-cam videos and all the basics like field dressing dove. I'm looking forward to next season again. I absolutely fell in love with dove hunting. I don't really know of any places for hunting here in the valley. I would appreciate some recommendations if you got any. I'm eager to learn. Thanks. I liked and subscribed.
During the summer I’ll go over to Massey’s shooting range & shoot clays just to stay “in shape”. Dove season starts again September 1st of this year and just like previous years I’ll be at resaca de la Palma state park. I recommend that for next seasons hunting license that you download the “my Texas hunt harvest” app on your phone and when you renew your license also get the annual public hunting permit. That way you can have access to the wildlife management areas that we have in the valley. The wma’s offer public hunting opportunities until the end of February for rabbit, quail, chachalaca and dove. When you get the annual public hunting permit they’ll mail you a book that shows all the wma’s in the state along with the rules and regulations. Give me a shoutout as we get close to September, you can tag along with me if you want.
@@CaptainRon956 Awesome! Yes..thanks for the invite and all the info. I will definitely tag along. I appreciate it. I will get my annual public hunting permit for the next season and will send you a message as we get closer to next season. We can exchange info any way you think might be best. I'm from McAllen so we can work something out as the season gets closer. I already downloaded the app and will have it ready. Thanks again buddy.
I have a 41 that will not cock any ideas how to fix it.
First thought that comes to mind is either the bolt is gunked up inside, broken spring or broken trigger spring. It’s very difficult to say without looking at it. They’re very simple however parts can still be found on numrich.com
Remember to always lean into the gun for better recoil control. There are a ton of different stances but for starting with your daughter you should just teach her to lean forward a little when shooting Edit: thats the first thing my dad taught me when i was a boy
I am glad you are having good luck with your pistol. Just FYI, I have had 2 Victory pistols. First one in early 2021 was a jamomatic and the rifling was bored off center. S&W worked on it. Functioned pretty well, but not accurate, even with a new barrel. Sold at a considerable loss. The concept of the pistol and the many marvelous reviews everywhere, convinced me to try again 11/2022, but not before going to a store with a return policy!! The pistol was a jamomatic, extraction, ejection, stove pipes double feeds, bent hollow points nearly in two, light firing pin strikes, magazines did not feed, it was accurate, but I knew that barrel would go with a new throat. Returned. Great Heavens. Before buying, check the S&W official site and the threads on the Victory. Very informative.
I own two victories and worked on a friends pistol and all of them required a little bit of tweaking with the ejector. Just a hair of bending it out or in with needle nose pliers made my friends jamomatic into a reliable gun. Also when putting the barrel back on I learned that making sure the barrel’s cut for the extractor was lined up perfectly with the extractor helped too. Reinstalling the barrel with the bolt closed worked for me. But at the end of the day. I sold my victories and bought a Ruger mkiv 22/45. 100% reliable 🤷🏻♂️
@@CaptainRon956 I am waiting to pickup a Ruger Mark 4, now. From the same shop.
Lead or steel shot and what powder are you feeding
This was a dove load that came out of ballistic products published loads. 7/8oz lead #6 with 16gr green dot. For cheddite hulls like the ones I was using it called for a overshot card.
I’ve got one. Came from my grandfather. Never shot it yet, but I like the weight of it
I have same gun and loves my hand loads great rabbit gun
I absolutely slaughtered the dove that day using a combo of my 1-1/8oz reloads and Hertzers 1-1/8oz #6. Limited out in two hours.
UPDATE: I polished out the machine turn marks on the magazine tube using cut strips of 800grit. I seen a lot of UA-cam videos stretch the recoil spring by counter twisting it & I don’t suggest doing that. Polishing out those turn marks on the magazine tube made the action soooo much smoother. But on two different days I hit my limit on dove. I can’t miss with this gun and using loads that it likes, it gets two thumbs up 👍🏻
Add an O ring to the hold down bolt, solves the problem.
Put a small "0" ring on the barrel screw n you'll never have a problem again....... be well.
That’s different than the grapefruit one that comes in that variety pack?
this one is included in the variety pack.
Lock washer will help
Have you had any problems with crimping new hulls. I have a 20 gauge loader that on the 6 and 8 point part works great it is the final crimp that goes cracy and sometime hurts the hull.
I had some brand new cheddite hulls that took a crimp pretty well. Some hulls just work better than others on this loader I’ve had no issues with Winchester & Remington hulls.
The last stage do not push too hard, because at this stage most probably the hull gets damaged.
I notice it does terribbly with federal 8 point crimps. I have better luck with B&P hulls
Wowee something actually made in the good old USA not bloody China
Trigger upgrade is a must.
The factory trigger is much better than what’s on the Ruger mkiv. I’d say the browning Buckmark has the best out of the box trigger. But for what, 45-55 bux the tandemkross trigger is a first must have upgrade for the victory ✌🏻
WHOA! That's slicker than snail snot. Just ordered this for the 20 with a 12 conversion and supplies. A friend has been doing this for several years and steered me real good.
I picked up a 16 gauge conversation for mine as well. Along the way I snatched up a MEC 600jr mark V for 20ga. Review on those coming soon
Put sum lock tight on it
I just bought the Smith & Wesson Victory 22 and problems right out of the box failed to feed and eject and stove piping so I took it back to the gun shop and the owner said he has had three or four of these come back with the same problem and he would fix it and if I don't like it after it's fixed I will just trade it back in and get me another Ruger, which I should have done in the first place
First try different ammo. There are some brands ammo this gun doesn’t like and other brand ammo that will run thru this gun all day no problem. The brand ammo I suggest for the Victory is Federal auto match, Federal small game 22lr, CCI mini mags, CCI target, Aguila super extra, Winchester wildcat 22lr. These brand 22’s will run all day in the Victory. Second & the most issue with the Victory is the spot welded ejector. You may try a small needle nose pliers and move the ejector a micro hair more to the center. I promise you by tweeking that ejector just a hair either way can make that your favorite gun or a jamomatic.
I purchased a Lee Load All II for reloading 20 gauge. I found the powder bushings did not go as small as I wanted for published powder weight data. Lee also did not make shot bushings lighter than 7/8 ounce of lead shot. I did some searching and Elite 3D Design has several 3D printed reloading parts. I contacted Elite 3D and they agreed to try making bushings. I now have excellent powder and shot bushings in smaller sizes. Powder bushings include sizes 90, 85, 80, and 75. Shot bushings include 5/8 and 3/4 ounce.
I always check my weight when changing bushings and found out real fast that the Lee bushing chart is more of a starting suggestion. Lol
@@CaptainRon956 Always. But having the four smaller powder bushings allows me to use HS-6 on target loads. I also use HS-6 on my handgun loads, so It reduces raw material inventory. Until I had the new powder bushings I was using a Lee Perfect Powder Measure and a scale on my 20 gauge target loads. When I was developing these bushings with Elite 3D I did 10 measurements on each and provided the data back to Elite 3D. The first set was so-so, but the second set were great. And Elite 3D has the program for the final 3D printing, so now if someone wants them, it is just set up the machine and print. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the person I dealt with and quality of the product.
@@phild8095 do you have the files for the bushings? I'm getting a load all and want to print em out with my 3d printer
I have had mine for about five years and I take it apart once or twice a month and I have never ever had my take down screw work loose I have the threaded barrel model and I run it bone stock and I’m deadly accurate with it but the hive grips look nice
Did your barrel lug ever loosen up? How do you check it ? I make a tool for it that rocks !
I run cz97b fan page on face book
great movie, I have a question, can this machine be elaborate cal. 12/76 with black powder? and whether it is possible to regulate the amount of gunpowder for the cartridge
There are many videos on UA-cam that will show you how to load black powder shot shells. I do not recommend loading black powder shells with the Lee load all.
@@CaptainRon956 or maybe you will tell us what is better to use for the 12/76 black powder shotgun what kind of scales to use plastic or brass and what length is the best to use?
Pretty darn good brother
So whats were u put the bbs omg i am stupid
Yeah the tube that I put in the “barrel” is actually the magazine & barrel. Holds about 50 bb’s
Ditch the overshot card.
That’s what this particular load called for & I pretty much stick to published load data. This load came straight out of Ballistics Products 10th edition
They are nice firearms. I have one and like it very much. I have changed the grips and the spring in it. I did not like chasing it around. 😁 Thanks for the video.
Be careful not fully sliding the shot charge over as it can refill the shot bushing if it is slid back and forth and load extra weight.
It would be very hard to overcharge the shot as a normal 7/8 ounce charge is very close to the top to begin with. This machine is very basic but it works. It’s good for now until I get something better such as a MEC loader
How did the shots perform? I just put an order in but forgot my over shot card.
@@scotterinsam Unless your particular load calls for it I normally don't use overshot cards. This load performed very well. I took my first quail of the season using these exact shells in the video using my CZ Drake O/U
I HAVE ONE ALSO IT'S MY FAVORITE AND EVERY BODY,S ELSE'S WHO GET,S TO SHOOT IT, THEY LOVE IT!!
Where did you get grips from ? Thank you
Those came from Tandemkross
@@CaptainRon956 do they just wrap around the pre-existing grip or do you have to take the pre-existing grip off then put those on?
🏆🥇
Tandemkross Victory trigger and their Thunder Hammer are great upgrades to the SW22 for a small fee. Their install video also makes for an easy install even for someone who isn't a veteran of gunsmithing work.
They’re very good videos. I had to watch their videos a couple times before I swapped out the parts the first time. It’s nerve wrecking at first but after I’ve done a few pistols it’s relatively easy.
Is it really worth changing trigger? I love the trigger from the factory
Nice Video love mine
Hey man! Now THAT’S what I call great shooting technique. When the last round locked the slide back, the shooter didn’t realize it and tried to fire what he thought was the last shot. And that trigger pull was smooth and controlled...not the least hint of jerking it. Soooo many well seasoned shooters out there don’t do as well. Congrats! Way to go!
Thanks! I taught my daughter everything I knew...
@@CaptainRon956 Sorry about the mistaken gender. Re the teaching thing...you’re a good Dad, at least as a range coach. But ya know, everybody knows what they’ve SUPPOSED to do but not many have the necessary control. Your daughter does. That’s not only an asset that applies to shooting but other important aspects of life as well.
I got sooo many old BB guns from my Grandpa. Among his ww1-ww2 collection he left me. I went and bought a red writer for my daughter this Christmas from Walmart. I guess it's the newer version had so much fun so I took out the daisy I found in the collection of that 700 antique and collectable firearms. But this helped so much, I never really used the daisy model number 99 and I was not sure how to load it I seen the screw on the top of barrel but the red Rider new one has the little loading latch/door on the barrel to load the BBs. Now my daughter and I are going to go destroy some clay pigeons in.our back yard. Same clay And bottles I have had sitting in my garage since I was her age
I use a tension washer on the upper-lower bolt. it prevents the bolt from backing out without needing lock-tite.
