Lovely. The first song, There Was One Who Was Willing (also titles, Nailed to the Cross) was written by my maternal grandmother's Aunt Carrie (Mrs. Frank A. Breck). She was a prolific poetry and songwriter, and composed much of what she wrote while rocking her babies!
I don't think I've heard that about how she wrote her songs while ricking her children. Interesting...
Sorry meant Major Robert Chapman played this song on his accordion back in the sixties, at camp Selkirk.
Major Robert played this song on his accordion, back in the sixties. What a joyful reminder.
Thank you! My grandparents used to sing this when I was a young boy. Precious memories!
You're welcome :)
Crossed wires, this is very well worth reversing the cables to put left and right channels in the correct orientation. Such beautiful writing.
Jesus all for Jesus
Nice song
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️👌
give me guitar cords?
which cords? used in guitar
I do not know, and do not know if there is a guitar chart for it.
AMEN! PRAISE GOD!!!
Thank you for this video… I have been looking for a while for scoring, but as I have this now I can do a simple score for our children in Sunday School.
A faithful version, indeed ! Thanks for posting this one Eric, God bless you !
You're welcome :)
Wonderful uplifting challenging music

So sad that all these lovely songs and choruses are no longer used. I’m afraid the Army is not what it was.
Great hymn
Thank you. A true reminder of a Saint. Les Condon. Love Janet xxx
you're welcome :)
When I was Young People's Band Leader at Manchester Citadel/Sale this was one of our favourites. It was by Adam Hall of South Shields so me being 50% Sand Dancer it was a cert that we would play it!
I often play the recording by the Maidenhead quartet who sing the same recording as you have presented. Loved both. Very typical Norman Bearcroft style. There must be someone who could follow this up with another set of songs, it gets people singing!
I was taught this song 30years ago in my 5th class in st.Johns primary school in Lagos, Nigeria. I was cooking on the 12th December 2023 and the Holyspirit laid this song in my heart and i still remembered the lyrics. i started to sing it and realised indeed that there are so many things to be grateful for that we sometimes take for granted and don't say thank you. As i am typing this I am already teaching my daughter this song. Its a very lovely song. God bless the singer, the writer, and the person that posted it here.
Such a blessing to sing this along

Beautiful ❤️
this arrangement is so everlasting if you're a Salvationist Bandsman
Praise to Ray Bowes and his wife Mabel dear friend
i love this song👍🏻
The first time Ieard this song was when I was on camp staff at Camp Selkirk , Major Robert Chapman played this on his accordion for us. What a happy memory.
So very beautiful to hear of God’s promises.
Beautiful song. Why don't the have it nowadays?
We do. It's No. 414 in the current Song Book.
Love these! I use them just about every Sunday at my corps. We don't have live music, and these choruses are great for the offertory. Blessings!
Glad you find them useful! Blessings!
There is no online music link available for this song and chorus.
Not sure what you mean?
@@ericbicknell7231 It's the chorus of song 476 in the songbook. (Songs of salvation are sounding). For meeting leaders who want to include this song and have no pianist, there is nothing in any online resource to help them. Most other tunes in the Army songbook have a youtube clip or some other congregational 'accompaniment', but not this one.
@@lizzie3094 It's on a recording called "It's New" from the ISB. They recorded some of the tunes that were new in the 1987 Song Book. This was one of them. I believe it's 2 verses with chorus. And you should be able to get it at regalzonophone.com
@@ericbicknell7231 Thank you. I found it - but I can't see a feature to save it for inclusion in a power point presentation, which is what meeting leaders use when there's no pianist. Thanks for your input though.
@@lizzie3094 You would have to be able to save it from your browser, if it allows it. Many browsers don't support that. The only option besides downloading is to hook your computer into your Corps sound system, and have the page up and ready with the tune on pause until you need it.
Hello, I am a Salvationist from Texas. I have really getting into the Music scene of the salvation army, especially the Marches that have include lyrics. Where do you find the Lyrics for these pieces? Is it just random searching or is there a book or just knowledge you’ve gathered from living? I have been looking for lyrics to specific marches because I hear and play them so much but do not know the meaning and I want to share the words with my bandmates as what they play is more than joyful noise, it’s a statement they’re proclaiming.
Generally, I get a lot of vocal references from the scores of the Marches. I've been working with SA Music for over 40 years, and have gained a lot of knowledge about some of these things. But in general, the score notes are the best resource to find what you're looking for. If you need help finding something, your Divisional Music Director should be able to help, if not, I am on Facebook, and you can send me a message there.
A true reminder. Thank you xxx
You're welcome
No more, the song, but God has lifted me. Thank you. Love Janet xx
Is this a new composition, Eric, or have you only just recorded it?
Wrote it last month. the recording is my computer simulation... which I refer to as The Digital Staff Band. :)
Beautiful melody. Even more beautiful words.
Saw Don Manning's name - a real "blast from my past". I remember him in the 1960's teaching at Grendon Hall S.A. music schools along with Michael Kenyon and Zander Gregg.

Great post 🙏🏻
Beautiful 🥰🥰
Beautiful choon
Jesse McLaughlin and Lydia Cope, two wonderful salvationist soldiers, now in glory, who served God in the soon to close (sadly) Saltcoats Corps of the Salvation Army. This was your hymn, I can hear you ‘shout with all your might ‘ now that you are there. Because of you both , I continue to climb those golden stairs. Thank you for posting this, it warmed my heart and flooded my mind with beautiful memories.
We are aware that the music on this video is part of stapleford citadel, right? Where is the music the world for God?
I have not done a video for that one.
Happy memories of my time in the junior band which I joined in 1962 - suddenly over 60 years ago. This was a firm favourite.
