Rooftop Unit Heat Exchanger Replacement
Replaced 2 Heat Exchangers today as it was a beautiful morning, no wind and the temperature was great! We have some colder weather coming soon so I wanted to get some of the more important repairs done on a nice day

Replaced 5 exhaust fans due to an extreme wasp infestation, this caused the motors to fail and the exhaust fans haven’t ran for years and I figured they should have these exhaust fans running. Replacing 2 Carlyle Compressors in one day as we’re pretty busy and this was the only time with a few extra guys available. Biggest problem was the 2 compressors could not be fully isolated because of the discharge valves not holding and bleeding pressure into the compressor and it was around 150psi worth. Replaced a Remote Condensing Unit Condenser Coil today as the coil discharge header was bent, which caused a rub through on the copper. Awesome video, I’ve been in HVAC the past year and a half in school and working residentially. I watch a large variety of content for tool/van setups and general knowledge in the industry. Really impressed about your video for a few reasons. Firstly, it’s from a Midwest tech! I’m in Michigan and don’t find much Midwest content in HVAC. The carpet setup is really cool and I like how you tag all equipment too- I’ve already noticed how critical communication is in the trade for safety and for proper practices. Looks like I have another channel to subscribe to, and some more videos to watch tonight. Looking forward to the 2025 content to come! James

I had to go to the local automotive supply house and get my house replaced because when I called the AC dealer they don't sell hoses by themselves you have to buy the $300 inducer motor that comes with a hose

what % of silfos was that? was flowing really nice

🤬🤬 Cheap Bastard customers can’t spend the money for a walk in trailer machine room now all we have is these crappy small units that the technician will be exposed to rain and snow while troubleshooting, not to mention the electrical section where the E-2 or Danfoss controller and all the contacters and input, output boards are located.
Probably better off to just replace the unit depending on age

What does it mean when the compressor is isolated?
@@MidwestPipefitter A “Isolated Compressor” is when that compressor is still technically attached to the system but all valves are closed which isolates the compressor. So here we shut the Oil inlet and equalization line, the Suction and Discharge line, and since the power is shut off the liquid injection solenoid is powered off so I trusted that the solenoid held/sealed properly. Which is why I keep my hoses on the compressor and see if any pressure rises. We isolate compressors so we can safely work on the internal components, inspections of gaskets/valve plates, and doing overall maintenance as well. Also if a compressor stops doing what it’s supposed to do then we want to shut it down and isolate it because if we have a broken compressor then you may have high discharge pressure leaking into the low suction pressure which will make bigger issues.
