Whoever presented this fantasy never listened to Musk when he was on the last Tesla earnings call. The Tesla Roadster is not even on the design board let alone anywhere near production. This "Tesla have officially confirmed" is just puffery. Since Tesla don't have a PR department any information comes from Musk's mouth or the Tesla quarterly Q&A sessions. When in the Third Quarter 2024 Q&A they were asked when the Roadster could be in production, Musk laughed, before effective saying they have no plans and that the Roadster was just not a priority. Excellent news for all those who put down their $50K deposit and for the privilege of waiting inline for Tesla vapourware; maybe if they get enough deposits Tesla can fund the development on the long term interest they receive on all the deposits they hold.
