Splinter Cell Conviction - Sam's Rage scene

Splinter Cell Conviction - Sam's Rage scene
Idk why this game reminds me of WD 1 And Max Payne 3 (Prolly the way theyre filmed)
3:47 2319? Monster’s Inc?
3:33 this isn't Sam being a badass, this is a father going to save his daughter and nobody can stop him
The best splintercell 🔥
Back when Ubisoft made good games.
Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck. Only now after understanding cinematography and story/art direction do i see Sam considered himself a burden to Lambert. That even though he killed him, he’s just another “loved one” who got hurt by his job. Even worse at his own hand, thinking it betrayal and retribution. The way the word BURDEN goes across Sam, AND ONLY SAM, at the one point, is obvious now and super reflective Edit: ALSO, FUCK OFF UBISOFT!!! “Code 2319” Fucking monsters inc reference in my game
Angry sam and his drunk camera man are on a mission to
I love rage mechanics in a game, sam is so beyond angry at the information you learn about lambert and his daughter. And you experience that through the game's mechanics, its such a beautiful way to convey emotion not only narratively, but mechanically
conviction would have worked better as a the punisher game fucking sue me
she played with fire right there, told him his daughters death wsa faked all for the the sake of the government he could have easily just hung up and left before anything else was said also no one caught it did they... huge government facility being locked down, soldiers rushing over... and then youre told protocol 2319 is in effect 2319.... monstors inc refrence
Sam, please.
The writing is good but the gameplay is the biggest let down for me
I think the worst part of the whole situation is Lambert died thinking he failed Sam. All that work only for it all to end in failing to root out the mole and painting Sam as a double agent.
bad boys ride or die brought me here. Screw you reggie
Why?
"the I lied to my best friend. Told him that his daughter was dead. Took advantage of his grief and used it for Third Echelon's purposes" Wow Shetland from Chaos Theory was right, they were using him like a tool.
This is what Schizophrenia and or PTSD flashbacks look like
The storytelling in this scene is amazing. Sam's stone-cold reaction towards being told that he was used like a pawn to protect the organization that he worked for, only to completely _break_ upon Lambert's confession that he lied to sam, cuts deep.
And.. who was/is the mole in third Echelon?
Tom Reed
Thanks for the answer. I think I need to play it again 😅
This was a huge shocking moment for every splinter cell fans, I remember defending lambert somuch in double agent & he was basically Sam's all time friend and mentor, this scene is still goosebumps and plot twist.
His best friend lies to him about his daughters murder that one’s hits hard and it’s definitely unforgettable
Ohh I remembered that the BGM used on this is used by Jabbawockeez also. "Building Steam with a Grain of Salt"
It’s just a game but I felt Sam’s pain when Lambert said and then I lied to my best friend. Filled me with up with such rage.
2319…monsters inc reference
Idk if yall have ever been THIS angry, but its not a fun time. "Seeing red" is a very accurate way to describe it.
"My name is Sam Fisher, I used to work here" *triggers C4. Just Sam being a badass
Wait Yo!?!?!? Protocol 2319?! Is that a Monster's Inc. reference for just blowing everything up to sterilize everything?! That's sick!! The things you possibly recognize when you are now a father with loads of animated kids movie knowledge looking back on memories of your late teenage years.
The only crime Lambert committed was looking out for a homie…
My favorite part about this sequence is the music. I played this game for the first time over a decade ago when I was in middle school and I really loved this song but I never thought to look it up. Ten years later endtroducing is one of my favorite albums and when I replayed the game and got to this part I lost my shit when I heard the song. Funny how things go full circle sometimes.
This introduced me to DjShadow in 2010. Very thankful for that. Conviction will always be one of my top 3 Splinter Cell favorites.
Blacklist made me 😠 michael ironside is sam fisher! No1 else
That “And then I lied to my best friend” line gives me chills every time. I remember getting to this part in game for the first time. Unbelievable game and can’t believe no one in my friend group has heard of it.
The more I look back at this game the more I realize this was the perfect finale, much like Halo 3 it truly gave us the ending that was both needed and deserved. 🗿 Still not going to play blacklist tho
Calls kobain a despicable creature yet he uses him
Was one of the best splinter cell games ❤️ I felt this fictional character’s pain
The end of this scene shows how Rid fears Fisher. He send his men to death in the exploding facility in order to stop him asap.
0:57 Best soundtrack
Sam is much more dangerous and lethal in this game compared to previous series.
I recently replayed this game and the moment when i heard the intro piano of the “Building Steam With A Grain Of Salt” by DJ Shadow i was like “this is going to be intense”. The fact that the original track also featured a monologue in the intro and they just swapped it with the dialogue of Sam and Grim and extended the intro section was imo the icing on the cake. And when the drums hit you can really feel Sam’s rage. Definitely one of my favourite scenes in gaming
Despite the hate, I see people have for this game, Conviction actually took a step in the right direction. Sam was a rouge agent at the time. He learned about his daughters supposed killer in the beginning, then finds out she is alive. Honestly, the departure from Sam's ghost style from the first game to Double Agent makes sense. The Sam we play as in Conviction isn't the elite infiltrator we grew up with. This is a man who was still grieving for his daughter and crushed with guilt killing Lambert to keep his cover. So his new style of gameplay makes sense. He's angry, ready to snap at anyone. So, his brutality during interrogation scenes fits the narrative. This scene alone, just shows that, the Sam we are playing as, is the father that will do anything for his daughter.
Unfortunately no they still took a wrong step here. Not because of the rouge agent part but they scrapped the original build which in my opinion would have been a better rouge agent game. Look it up on UA-cam and you will find it
How are you shooting them behind walls and without aiming at them?
I didn't appreciate the cinematic direction of this game enough years now
Honestly, if you're not using the _That Gun_ during this scene the game should fail you.
i saw one guy especially taking the shotgun for this part, seeing enraged Sam mowing down those proud SOB's with the shots that makes them fly through the room is extremely satisfying
This scene alone kicked off my obsession with musical moments in video games that help invoke emotion - this was masterfully done and I’ll never forget it.
This is the best sequence in a game. Ever. Maybe all of entertainment.
Conviction story was so 🔥>>>>>>>>
My heart hurts for Sam.
The distorted echo sound effect that start's after a certain part while Lambert is talking is so fucking awesome
That HAD to of hurt so bad. His best friend. Trusted friend. But I understand Lamberts reasoning. But still. To tell a man his baby girl is dead and lie about it. Thats fucked up. Still.. I can see reasoning on both ends.
I remember this scene playing the game
