Keep in mind that cubs are born in the den, roughly the first week of January. That cub is in its’ second year (<2 yrs old) and is dependent upon mama, for protection and guidance. She is nearby, unless that cub is an orphan.
Keep in mind, idiots who call wild predator cubs to their cars deserve to meet Mama Bear without further warning.
