Just noticed that when Kiri first approaches Grace, she is the (correct) height for a Na'vi relative to a human - she TOWERS over Grace. But in the cut where Grace stands up, Kiri shrinks so that the two of them are (proportionally) about the right height for a human mother and teenage daughter. The action of Grace standing up does hide it, but keep an eye on Kiri's proportions relative to the chair and the console behind her. It is so easy to overlook, especially compared to the coming transition from Grace's human to Avatar form, but there is so much unspoken storytelling in that brief, simple moment when Grace stands up, and with a simple camera-cut everything changes. Kiri's whole world CHANGES in that moment.

0:40 so right here in this scene there was a deleted part where Neytiri stabs the dude a multitude of times. Just over and over and over again then she screams into the corpses face. My opinion on that? It shouldn’t have been deleted. Yes Neytiri’s rage is very well put together by the film makers but knowing that part was originally like that makes this particular part a little underwhelming. It almost feels like they changed it to make Neytiri fit the human beauty standards, for lack of a better phrase. It also makes Spider staring at Neytiri horrified a little confusing. Yes, she just stabbed someone, but that reaction was meant for her stabbing someone repeatedly. Seemingly loosing her intent to simply kill the person but also display how much rage she feels. Overall the whole scene was very good and Zoe Saldana is a VERY good actor.

Neytiri here is FAR MORE terrifying than ANY enraged toy in the Poppy Playtime franchise. Even Huggy Wuggy and CatNap would turn tail and flee the volcanic grieving mother. :)
