Matrimandir Lake Dam Extension
The excavator we see here was already at MM. And it had its normal arm, which was great for digging.
But a longer arm was needed to continue the making of the dam.
Having the machine going up and the down the hill with one Lego block at the time would have been time consuming and inefficient.
So the MM people found an old but longer arm. They brought it to MM, made a few welding modifications, and added it to the excavator machine.
The previous short arm is kept for excavations, because this is a multi-purpose machine.
The excavator also, had to get some extra weight at the back, to stay in balance while it operates. And that's why we see these two Lego blocks attached at the back of the excavator. Each Lego block weighs two tons.
The work is much easier and goes much faster now.
Up at ground level, each Lego block is brought to the edge of the cliff. Here the excavator standing at the bottom picks it up, and just with a simple rotation it places it on the dam where the workers ensure it is interlocked properly.
So now the first work that needs to be done is completing the full width of both dams.
And after that the dams will be raised up to the top (ground level), which is another 5 meters from where the dams are now.
The deadlines are:
completing the width of the two dams before the summer monsoon, which comes at around July, and should bring about one and half meter of water.
And then to raise the dams to the full height in time to catch the winter monsoon, which will bring much more water to the lake.

Documenting Matrimandir
Переглядів 1,2 тис.Рік тому
The first time I saw Matrimandir was in 2002. I remember this large sphere half covered in scaffolding. I think at that time the engineers were finding ways to fix golden leaves onto discs. Matrimandir in those days seemed like an impossible project. Now we can enjoy its beauty, its perfect geometry, the harmony between nature and art. But do we ever wonder what is the work behind the scenes? M...
Water of the Test Lake
Переглядів 168Рік тому
The test lake of Matrimandir is gradually changing color. This is a good thing because the dirt of clay is setting down the bottom. Now the water is turning olive green, which makes it look more natural. Also the water is evaporating, and this is not such a positive thing. The Matrimandir team will have to find a solution to the water evaporation. Another challenge will also be finding a way to...

Celebrating Completion of the Test Lake

Making the Channel and the Test Lake of Matrimandir was an interesting journey. Now the monsoon is here and the lake is ready to receive the rain water. This is a good time for me to take a break from the Lake and work on editing previous footage about the creation of various gardens, the Discs Cleaning Team and other aspects of Matrimandir

Fascinating to see Mother's vision coming to life ❤
สุด อีหลี งานนี้ 💪💪💪💪👹👹👹👹👹
Very good job. Keep it up with the Grace and Blessings of The Divine Mother.🙏
Will pine trees /saplings be planted on top of these hills, as Mother instructed? It's going to snow in Auroville 😍😍😍
Good luck 🙏🏻🍀❤️🙏🏻
Thank you for your detailed update on the Matrimander Lake Dam extension work. Wish you all for your hard selfless service a big success.
Most of what is shown here has nothing to do with Anupama Kundu... She was no where to be seen around when these buildings were made... I was... This is what is call misappropriation of works from a famous architect... She is NOT not the Head of Urban Design of Auroville, at best she is self-appointed by a few sycophants... Enough with the falsehood...
Shet talva
good vedio
Nice 👌
I had been there on 27th February morning and next day before sunrise again for the Bonfaite of Auroville

Wonderful 👏👏👏 please show us the inside view of the house.
If only the residents will allow me one day. But, thank you, good idea
Amazing place. I wish I could live there !!!!
Come and visit
Beautiful! So happy to see Krishna Das in Auroville, bringing the energy of non-exploitation and non-causation of suffering for all beings. Hopefully Auroville will continue to raise its vibration and become the world's first 100% vegan city. Lots of love for all of Auroville! 🙏💚
Great! All the neocolonialists are in one place listening to the man who brays...sorry prays, in song. Meanwhile, the dispossessed Tamils stand bowl in hand hoping the sexual exploitation of their children stops.
They should have been taken to top n do meditation in front of Glass ball which is Divine.. must experience n feel..
They did. But of course I wasn't allowed (nobody is allowed) to go up and film or take photos while people are meditating. But yes, they did go up in the chamber.
@Matrimandir Journal YES.FILMING NOT ALLOWED. I visited few times.. Divine experience..
Bullshit.
These fantasm buildings absolutely useless and nonsense in difficult tropical environment... Situation in Auroville is very drastic and dramatic... Auroville becomes a local ugly village but not a City of Dawn as Mother dreamed....
It takes time and many mistakes to build a city. We are only humans after all. Hopefully we will get there one day.
Il gran MAESTRO MERITA QUESTO BEL LUOGO!!!
My hats off to the hard working Matrimandir workers team.🌺🙏🙏
🙏🙏🌹 Thank you.

Unfortuantely I can't make videos for Matrimandir Journal too frequently these days because there is only one computer available at the office, and this is always occupied by interns to do work for AMI. So I'm only able to do less accurate work because I have considerably less time available on the computer for editing.
Still, you have done a nice job with your limited resources and time. Many thanks.
India has countless number of rich cultural heritage sites. its reflects the quality of sense, values, diversity and aesthetics of the people of great India
Thank you.
