I have been using VHS for a long time and, on the contrary, I tried to squeeze out the maximum possible quality and use modern capabilities and codecs for problem-free interaction with a PC. On my channel, it is compressed in the old UA-cam codec. And there is always an understanding that I am wasting my time. After all, you have to live, and this should only decorate and make life easier and more interesting. But old formats do not add simplicity + they also oblige you to keep a lot of equipment at home. Honestly, in my understanding, old camcorders are only needed for converting to an analog format.
