Hi you are doing realy well, its easier to keep the long piece of reins, you are not using, underneath your reins not on top, over, then does not interfear with your contact and steering. Good to see you cantering, have fun, x

P.s. don't you put your stirrups up before coming out the school . That is one the the riding school was strict about .in cause a pony had an itch, so thay can't garb the stirrup . I was about 8yrs old at the time it may be good to question it .Take care and all the best .

Hi Charlotte i just did canter a few times now and when i do sitting trot into canter i ride quite a stubborn pony so will i squeeze or kick him into canter??

You are doing really well, your dad is gently stroking, ponies love it more than patting as a ponies skin is much thinner than a human, you probably know he is a palamino, when american and spanish ponies made this lovely special colour from a deep golden to a creamy white.A promise, that when you feel less nervious canter is easier than trot and you will love it, you are doing so well, hugs to ponies.
