Hello friends, my name is Chris and I am an intermediate squash player (US Squash rating ~5.0). I started playing in 2015 and decided to make this channel because I love this sport and wanted to see how I play from a different perspective. Please enjoy these uploads as I play with friends and try to get better! You may or may not see some holds in these videos 🤠

Which dot ball is this?
normal 2 dot
@@ChrispySquashWell our double dot dont bounce much, sick of it, thinking moving to red......
@@Dontgiveupguy we use new balls a lot and if we do end up using an "older one", we clean it up to make sure it doesn't skid. Dead balls are the worst to play with!
3:54 Talvon took a play off my playbook with that one😂😂
LOL I'll let him know
It says eye wear required, cant believe you guys aren't wearing any smh. Also what racquets are u guys usin
The eyewear is typically enforced for minors and tournaments. I use a Dunlop, the green version one but it's an older model.

Wow, this Jose guy is very good! I'm impressed Talvon got a game out of him! Good job!! I thought Talvon played very well!
Yup Jose got 2nd place in the 5.5 category!
It felt to me like Talvon should have 3-0 this match, right? The opponent's swing was very weak: no preparation and no follow through.
Yes, I thought it was going to be a clean 3-0. Talvon played really well first two games (just look at the first 3 points). This guy had a lot of good lobs though and was decent at retrievals. He had a tennis background. I think it was mostly mental for Talvon.
The opponent was not bad!! well played. I thought you had the chance of a bagel in the last game! haha
Once I hit 9-0, I started trying crazy stuff, but yeah I think he was broken at the end. I’m mad I let it get to 5 though, not sure what I did wrong in those two games I lost because I felt I was in complete control the rest of the games (11-3, 11-5, 11-3). Maybe too many mistakes
@@ChrispySquash I am not sure. Maybe you relaxed? In game 2 for example, what happened is that you hit 3 tins, and he hit like 6 unreturnable winners, which already sets you at a disadvantage. I think in the games you won, you gave him less chances of winners, an also he tinned a lot. But he barely made any mistake in the 2nd.
Disgusting Tweener Nick: 9:48
ABSOLUTELY scandalous to try that at 11-11 😂😂😂

hahaha, good ones! Btw, I noticed many people in the teams tournament playing wearing caps, WHY?! why would you purposefully block your visibility lol it's not like you need to block the sun in an indoor sport ;)
Yeah… no idea haha i know some tennis players that wear caps even inside so maybe they’re just used to it
My guy is already hitting knicks at 1 mo. 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂 I was also practicing back walls 💪💪💪
@@ChrispySquash haha, pretty good swing for 1 mo!!! The pocket flipped inside out was driving me nuts in the video hahaha😅

Decisions: Let me know your thoughts! There were some controversies! 9:11, 18:40, 24:14, 24:43, 34:21
9:11: I think it could be a stroke, but the line was in front, and you ran directly behind. So, not sure, I stick to no let haha 18:40: stroke 24:14: cannot tell unless we can see how short the ball was. It ball was not tight enough, then stroke 34:21: stroke
9:11 it’s probably a no-let, we gotta ask Talvon. He hates when I take the back line and ask 😂😂 the line is definitely in the front but his shot was loose so I’m not sure
Other sick shots: 12:51 Insane backwall from the middle of the court from Santi 28:44 straight rail 46:21 goofy topspin

How about 51:07? Ball was quite far, no?
Looks like NO LET. My ask was desperate haha
After video review, my thought is that the point at 48:50, is a stroke.
clearly a stroke lol
Woops I messed up the editing: "score we are playing" at 30:45 is 11-11, not 12-11 at 31:08, it's 12-11, not 13-11.

Decisions: 2:28 Decision in Game: NO LET Thoughts: Ball passed me and contact was minimal. I think NO LET is correct call. 30:50 Decision in Game: YES LET Thoughts: I thought the contact was minimal. My opinion is NO LET. 32:26 YES LET was not requested, but I would've given a YES LET for the foot traffic since it was WHILE he was trying to play his shot. 52:10 Decision in Game: YES LET Thoughts: I thought contact was minimal. My opinion is NO LET. I thought the shot length was too good. 57:37 Decision in Game: YES LET Thoughts: I thought there was room to play, but it could very well be based on my bias. I think this is either a YES LET (for safety) or a STROKE. The reason I thought it was a YES LET was because I thought the swing was exaggerated - hence why I said "fish" during the game. I don't think this is a NO LET. What are your thoughts?
I agree that 52:10 should have been a NO LET hehe, I think the ball was past, and the problem is that he went in front rather than behind me. About 57:37, seeing it again, it looks less like a fish, and now I think it was a STROKE :)
Really satisfying. Good job. Good video. Please post more! 👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed haha
lol, I didn't win any of the games we thought I had won because of miscounting!
The score of the last game is wild, no one got the correct score lol
@@SantiagoOntanonVillar everyone deducted ourselves! At least no one added LOL 😂😂
My thoughts on the decisions: 15:38 Decision Given: STROKE Looks closer to STROKE after reviewing the video and slowing down exactly when Talvon was ready to hit the ball. I don't think he can cross so I think a STROKE is the correct call. 18:37 Decision Given: NO LET I don't think the second bounce was actually short; second bounce is past the blue line close to where I am ready to swing. In my head, I was expecting a short volley drop that would end the point, so there may be an argument that I went for the player out of desperation, but the volley was still loose! My opinion is that this is closer to a STROKE. I can also see a LET being given. I don't think this is a NO LET. 20:45 Decision Given: NO LET Based on how short Talvon's drop was, I think decision of NO LET is correct. 21:00 Decision Given: NO LET What happened: Talvon stepped on my foot during the traffic around the T after I hit my shot. I think it was just coincidence that his left foot landed on my foot while he was hitting his shot. I've seen YES LET's given for some traffic such as shoe stepping around the T. I am not sure about this one, but maybe YES LET. 33:52 Decision Given: YES LET Looks similar to the decision at 15:38. I slowed this one down and when Talvon is ready to swing, it looks like he cannot cross. I originally thought there was room to play, but my opinion post-review is that this looks like a STROKE. 39:17 Decision Given: NO LET Talvon's shot was really good. Second bounce was pretty much dead in the back. I think it's a winning shot and too strong for this to be a YES LET. My opinion is that NO LET is the right call. 49:35 Decision Given: YES LET I'm not sure I did anything wrong because there's not really another path to take. If you look at when Santi hits his shot, his feet are on the blue line slightly to the right of the T. After my push, it looks like he's only about a foot or two away from that starting position and the ball is already back to himself! When the second bounce of his shot arrives, it's at my feet, through his body, where I'm ready to hit. My opinion is that this could be a STROKE! Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
yeah, 18:37 was at least a LET. Very hard to judge in real time!
About 49:35, haha, I don't know! I was pushed all the way to the ball from just in front of the T hahaha. We nee a 4th opinion ;)
@@SantiagoOntanonVillar gotcha, so your opinion is YES LET is fair? or NO LET?
@@SantiagoOntanonVillar yea, i agree. i could see arguments of lack of effort but it was def. gettable
@@SantiagoOntanonVillar yea the 49:35 one is hard because it was a loose shot. the path taken was directly at the player not to the position to hit the ball, and the hitter couldnt clear because of the path taken/push. probably a stroke based on how loose it was but it just gets weird because of the push not allowing Santi to clear... idk anyone else?...
i'm tilted... cuz i was sent the wrong way
14:44 good backwall and finish for santi!
lol, just about the only backwall shot I got right, I put the rest in the ceiling haha
