Driving a right hand drive 2-11 COTA
I'm not super proud of this lap as driving RHD is really hard! Probably would do a 2:30 flat with another day to get comfortable in the car.

Eventful weekend at MSRC

Not my best showing, missed the mark on car setup and worried about customer cars all weekend keeping me distracted. Going to focus on customers for a few months and take my time bringing this guy back after an overhaul. Maybe SM in April? sales@fas-tx.com

Cota Fastest Lap July 2021 NASA TT2

So this weekend was mixed emotions, this lap won Saturday TT overall and was only beat by one SU car in qualy/race. Unfortunately I lost every single lap of this session to traffic including the first lap! Note this is session lap 7 and its HOT! My rears are way over heated and the electromagnetic shifter loses some force in the heat so it misses one shift. On Sunday before I got a real hot lap...

Man, that's fast!
Very smooth driving 👌🏾👌🏾
Little late to the party. But have loved watching all of your videos. You are quite the driver. I notice you’re in Texas as well. I’m currently in the process of getting my undergrad in ME at UTA and would love to get into Motorsports in some form, potentially as a career, in any way possible after graduation. It seems like you are very knowledgeable about the technical side of things, and the overall package regarding car setup and dynamics, versus the whole more power alone = faster lap times, which we all know is not necessarily true. With that being said if you ever have time to answer this or see this. I would love to know more about your background and your company, and how you got into everything. Coming from a younger way less experienced individual who would love to know more. Keep up the great driving!
email me sales@fas-tx.com especially if you want a job!
Honda engined car?
Yes K24z7 block and I think k20z3 head.
Judging from the size of that forearm, man's an absolute unit
I was, but then I had a kid, its bad for your fitness level it turns out.
@@Tankker99 I'm sure it's worth it though :)
For the love of all that is holy! please cut that stray zip tie off! 🤣
Youre telling me! Overhauling the car this summer.
That was a sweet Lotus.
Thanks, I really enjoyed driving it for the challenge, check out my channel for more of my car.
dont know why i got randomly recommended this but AGREE!
driving a racing car in shorts, u absolute sigma male
😂😂
And no gloves
Fantastic driving
very nice save! but why use this wheel with more than 360 degree of rotation on your rack? would hate for something like that cost you what seems to be a very nice race car. also sounds like an f or k series engine, very nice!
Because formula wheels are cool bro! Yokes too! /S
I mean it’s normal to have more than 360. I would say 540 is the sweet spot.
Did I hear vtec kick in??
Indeed
@@Tankker99 nice save as well mate
Hello everyone. Special thanks to UA-cam Algorithm for having me here today.
Weird video for it to pick, check out the other ones though if you like fast track day cars!
I don't know why i'm here, but it's good to be here
Awesome
Thanks, I coach and build cars full time in the South Austin area let me know if I can help sales@fas-tx.com
The way this car rotates mid corner is insane!! Great lap
Fuckin hell that thing's fast
Thanks!
its in 2x speed
What is the car / engine ?
Its a lotus exige with k24/20 and a motec controlled paddle shift sequential. Im building full time now if youre interested Sales@fas-tx.com
Ah, I heard about the Lotus. I was too busy frantically wrenching between races to watch you. The Honda Challenge pits had respect for the K24 lol
what car is this?
Its a lotus Exige K24 with motec paddle shifted sequential. Built by me, sales@fas-tx.com
exactly the places i needed to get..this video is money..thanks for sharing man this helps
Not a problem, hit me up sales@fas-tx.com for coaching or track support at COTA
Nice lap but would turn 9 and 19 count in a TT? all four outside white line.
NASA uses outer white line mostly, this would maybe have been illegal at 19 this year as it was 2 on the curb IIRC. But legal under the conditions the existing record was set under, also the time gained was way less then the time lost to 9 heat cycle tires.
Great driving, that was fun to watch!
What a little beast! 🤤 love it! Great job!!!
Thanks!
Appreciate the video. Going to get my SCCA at COTA in December this will definitely help.
Good show
Sounds you need a better top end gear ratio. Nice run though.
That's an interesting looking interior.
Thats just trimmed down to as little as I can get away with!
I think you go faster on new tires but can’t be sure. 😉
As you can see in the video the rear of the car is constantly trying to escape and the tires are powerless to stop it.
@@Tankker99 have the tires pick themselves up by their bootstraps, duh!
The UA-cam algorithm back at it again.
And again
@@asdeEducation and again
Lot of great tips for my next DE at COTA. THANKS! 👍
Nice driving! Car looks really well setup!
good work and nice forever record on the old surface.
looking good man
Awesome lap! Looks sped up!!!
Holy crap.
Very nicely done, hope you get your 13!
Thanks me too! I also hope thats enough to win, stout cars and drivers here this weekend
Very nice improvement over 2019! What're the big changes outside of the sequential? Is that worth the entire 3 seconds?
Sequential is some, but most of it comes from making max power a higher % of the time. Before I averaged around 200 whp over all the time I was at full throttle on a lap, now more like 240. I think I can get more then 3 seconds as well between driving improvements, setup, and the more power.
@@Tankker99 Is the making max power a higher percentage of the time from being able to be in the right gear all the time? I have a heavily modified Ruby Red GT350 and i feel like a sequential would improve my lap time a good bit since there are many places I am well below peak power due to gearing
@@kevinmerhar49 No, it's from having the engine make more power over a wider range mostly. I don't generally shift a ton more then before. But when I do shift now from 3rd to 4th I fall down to ~230 WHP in stead of 150. Im imagining putting a sequential in that car is not cheap or easy and you would be better off buying a factory GT4 car...
Glass windshield?
Yeah, not W2W car so it's pretty OK, could take the weight from up high, but its not much.
@@Tankker99 right, awesome car and driving. Do you have an Instagram or something where I can follow the car?
@@AndreKlebleyev It's @k24exige, but I haven't posted as much lately. I will try to be better.
Nice run!
Nice channel! Keep up the good work. If you have a moment please feel free to look at my channel and follow if you like it 💛💖
Great lap times. I was wondering why you were in front of me in the Red group Sunday.
Nice time Kevin, that's flyin'
great driving!
This is excellent, thank you for sharing.
Glad I could help, feel free to ask any follow up questions if you have happy to help anyone at COTA if I can.
Can this be repaired?
Ill let you know in a few days. Someone bought this and rebuilt it.
@@Tankker99can you let us know now please 😅
@@BMWExpert It took him a few tries to get the right parts, but I believe yes. However it doesn't make any sense. Also why did YT make this into a short, sheesh.
