What a beautiful couple!
I really love the 1994 version. I think that it show case the book more than the 2019 version. And that my friends is an UNPOPULAR OPINION π₯². The way the actors of fredich and Jo present their love and Support for each other. And nothing can change my mind that Fredich was the one for Jo.
Jo and Freidrich, W couple π«Ά
They are a great couple, I really liked them in booksπΈ
The piano background was too loud and overwhelming.
The 'background' music is over the top! Get rid of it.
I know Jo wasn't meant to end up with Laurie romantically but my god I wish they had I loved their relationship so much π Friedrich is more of a mature love for her though
s a kid, i shipped jo/laurie ; as an adult, it's got to be jo/bhaer. because Jo, in the beginning of the novel kept repeating how she wanted "to be a boy." with Auntie March she was never quite agreeable. the closer Jo got to Laurie, the more--i see it--that she'd secured the masculine characteristics of her nature well, that she felt safe enough to express the feminine side she held. (Teddy, unlike most boys his age, enjoyed piano, singing and songwriting... not too much dance & elegances) when Beth has scarlet fever, Laurie visited Amy daily without fail, as promised, saw to her will, and just always came to her as promised. he remembered the little things, like her love of carriage rides, art & how she loves to be complimented/bejeweled, & where her favourite little house for an engagement/marriage was. when Jo declined Laurie, he threatened to kill himself and then drank in Europe until he was misery as company. Laurie didnt bend for Jo, he was himself. Mr bhaer taught Jo that talent was worth far less than pride and doing right, as Laurie did from Amy. Mr Bhaer was masculine & soft, but as hard as needed. he & Jo were kindred in ways most could hope. he didn't want her to write things she couldn't put her name to. in the book, he was much older and less attractive than in film. jo saw herself as homely and awkward; she never cared for looks as much as Amy would have. they both had lost a sister they loved; adored children and learning so much. he wanted to love her and made an effort by showing up. it was the same Laurie did for Amy.
i love it so. they're e my fav couple π₯Ίβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
The background music is horrible and ruins the video.
I will definitely made time for this film. I think its sad ending and jo will ended alone. I search another clip and found this. Definitely will watch. By the way, their story just seems to beautifull to watch
The underrated ship which actually sailed β€
The music was way too loud.
Jo and Laurie both need an anchor. A stable personality that would ground their flighty tendencies. Jo was right. Had they marry, they would hate each other. Laurie needed a dependable wife who still belongs to high society. Jo needed an intellectual who understands her passions. It was a right match.
agree
I wanted her to be with teddy , I think she realized and matured after rejecting teddy.
No matter which version I see, and even in the books, I love Friedrich and Jo's story. As much as I disliked tis version of Little Women, I adore how they expanded Friedrich to include the "SHE BROUGHT HOME A BOY!" look on everyone's faces in the movies conclusions. Perfect.
Omgggggg π’π’π’πππBeautiful is true love.
Too bad this was overlayed with a ridiculous piano track. Impossible to listen to.
she got herself a real man
I love her because she is very similar to my character π₯°πΉ
Jo needed someone more mature, worldly whom she can voice out her opinions and the man could have the knowledge and wisdom to put her in her place. I mean as a woman with a strong and independent personality, we kinda look for this. Cheers from Hong Kong
Always loved Jo and Fredrich in both versions
modern films have to EXPLAIN everything! The viewing public aint that thick and stupid!!!
beautiful video. This is my favourite part of "Little women". I like Joe's personality. She is very intelligent, a little impulsive but has such a good heart And she loves Friedrich as much as he loves her. Those two are a perfect match. I also like Joe's parents.
"you're on fire"
I loved this version the best, but I will forever be Team Bhaer. The dance scene reminded me so much of Titanic/ Jack & Rose. I love the colouring & music in this. I've always related to Beth & Jo the most. Such a wonderful story & friendship.
If tou think these two weren't better than Jo and Laurie you obviously did not understand the meaning
βI would never leave if you want me to stayβ. Pleaseee heβs perfectππΉ
π
I havenβt read the book yet. I have a copy but I canβt get past page 3 as I keep falling asleep or losing track of what I am reading. Itβs such a hard book to read. Any tips on getting through the book ?
Don't read it in anticipation of anything happening in the sense of modern stories that have a beginning and a build up to something like a climax . Read it more like you're just experiencing day to day life with the March sisters and that's it.
It gets so much easier after the first couple chapters!
Their chemistry was soooo good
I could do without the loud piano music, it completely drowns the dialogue. Please turn it off completely and do a remake of this otherwise fantastic story.
i think i want so badly for jo to have ended up with laurie because she got to experience love and she didnβt even know it. it makes me feel like i have a chance to find love and to actually be able to have it
Dear Sophie, I am so sad to read your post. You will always have a chance to find love at any age. Please don't feel you have no chance.
Only Winona Ryder π
Although a good actor, the male lead is too young to play Friedrich.
No he isn't. He just _looks_ younger. Louis Garrel was 37 when this film was made, which is only a couple of years younger than Friedrich was supposed to be in the book (he was in his early 40s if I remember right).
@@mfjdv2020 my goodness. He looks very young. Thanks.
I prayed for them to be together from the moment he said good morning to her.
they made him likeable. Well done
In the books he is a good and kind man, ergo loveable, despite being a gruff bachelor 20 years older than Jo.
@@voulafisentzidis8830 yeah the age difference and the fact that he is not Laurie and the fact that he is a love interest for Jo at all (when she could have stayed single and independent) made him hard for me to like all that much. but this movie and this edit painted him as a pretty solid option
@@willapotter5455 spinsters in that period were considered feeble and drains on the family. It's preferable that she met and was able to marry a good man who loved and respected her.
@@voulafisentzidis8830 I simply disagree. Louisa May Alcott was single you know
@@willapotter5455 yes. As were others but the reality of their lives didn't change. The Brontes published under male pseudonyms as did George Sand. Despite the problems of the 21st Century, we're lucky to be living in times of, though nowhere near perfect, having a semblance of equality. The inability to vote, earn an income, own property and, most importantly, have the right to make decisions affecting ourselves are taken for granted by us but unheard of then.
She is not ready when she met Laurie, i think it symbolizes how she never wanted to dance before, but when she met Friedrich, she is so ready to dance with someone and actually enjoys it.
Yes! I totally agree with you. I get why they added that scene at the end where she says that her character wonβt get married and the publisher is like itβs romantic. And yes she wasnβt ready to marry anyone until she realised that she was ready and that she could be alone and not be dependent on a man. Once she realised what it really meant to be in love and to be with someone. I havenβt read the book. I bought a copy but I canβt start it. As itβs hard to read, I am always falling asleep by page 2.
@@logann-mackenziefroste563 Iβm dead ππππ
The background music is killing me πππ
It's terrible and drowns the dialogue.
The best versiΓ³n Is un 1994 y the best actores Is Winona Ryder and Gabriel Byrne
Tbh, the actor who plays Friedrich is much too handsome and dreamy to play him, Friedrich is described in the book as being a middle-aged man who looks rather plain.
Of course, you are absolutely right. And in the book Friedrich is a widower too, if I remember right. Mind you, Louis Garrel in this film is 37, which is close to 40. I think Friedrich in the book is about 40. The only thing that really jars is that Louis Garrel (naturally enough) has a French accent in English, which is quite different to a German accent.
@@mfjdv2020 not a widower tho, the orphaned children he was providing for was his nephews, not his
but not complaining
@@mfjdv2020 someone pointed out that this version called him the french version of the name friedrich, so..
This is more beautiful than Laurie and Amy
I always thought Amy was a bit of a pain to be honest, at least in the book. Spoilt and selfish.
I think Jo going for Friedrich was way better than Laurie
She never loved laurie as a lover, she had always viewed him as a bestfriend. When she regretted rejecting his marriage proposal, it wasn't because she had developed certain feelings towards him, it was because of her loneliness. In the 2019 movie adaptation, saoirse and timothee had so much chemistry that despite alr knowing the plot, people rooted for them.
I got a bit of overprotective vibes from Laurie there
And a bit of desperation from Amy to get Jo hitched for God's sake. Lol
Jo and Laurie are still together as siblings now
I love Amy and Laurie together! I love Jo and Friedrich together. I used to be annoyed how Jo didnt end up with Laurie, but now that I have grown up. I understand the pairings work better.
Amy and Laurie have that soft and companionate relationship. Especially because they were friends first and they werenβt deliriously in love. Just right
I've grown up, but still can't get over my Lo ship lmao
@@moebius5396 Lol, loves it!
I thought the same way as you βΊ
Yay!
I really love them tbh. I used to hate them after watching the 1994 version, but after reading the book, I realize how mature they are and how much they complete each other emotionally and intellectuallyβ€οΈβ€οΈ

i know that they practically forced louisa may alcott so marry jo to friedrich but i love their story so much :(
