I do believe that we are favored vs painter it just when I have played the matchup it has felt closer than it should be. The T1 Magus/Blood Moon has gotten me and vexing bauble turning of FoV has been hard. I think that with good mulligan decisions and tighter play that matchup can go back up to extremely favored. The stuff I said in the video is more my general feeling playing and loosing the matchup more than I would have wished. On the other side I have faced the deck a lot on the cannel and I think I'm 80-20 there at least It's just in paper the match has been more problematic. With that said I'm also worried about the Nadu deck. Both to face it and to face the decks trying to beat it (fast combo). For our deck to be better positioned I would like to see banns on: Nadu, Thassas Oracle and Kozileks Command plus less design mistakes (from a legacy context) in upcoming sets. I'm going to try a lot of different decks for a while to keep the content on the channel fresh. It's to bad that depths isn't better positioned as I do like the additions we have gotten recently (Talan gates, Echoing Deeps, Legolas etc).

@@intheink1694 for my own enjoyment I agree. And if the don’t ban multiple cards they might as well unban a lot of cards and let everyone do degenerate stuff. But on Monday I hope Frog, Bauble and Nadu goes. If u get to choose one more card I would add kozileks command to that list to.

Do you have a sideboard guide out anywhere, or one to recommend? Trying to learn this deck and it has been difficult to figure out what to board out 😅

@chronomoon Sure thing! As a side note, I had a Saga in the deck which felt too slow in most matchups and I did not really tutor it up outside of one 4C control match, I will probably leave that out from my next iteration

Hi, Thank you for your kind words! I really enjoy plying the deck and I also come from Maverick. Same as you I try to grind sometimes when I should jam a 20/20! When it comes to talon gates a second would be great in the Eldrazi meta but I feel we need the step to push through attackers against multiple blockers out of delver/D&T and other colored decks. Also if they play their removal on our turn it's nice to get an attack in instead of phasing out the lage. Echoing Deeps gives us an extra copy of both effects (if we manage not to draw it). But I would like a second copy as talon gates solves certain problems we can't solve in other ways. Need to try Scrub as well. So much to try so little time... Another creature that I'm going to try is the newly spoiled Insidous Fungus instead of outland liberator!(www.mtggoldfish.com/price/Duskmourn+House+of+Horror/Insidious+Fungus#paper) Thanks, hopefully I will make it on camera!

@@chronomoon Thank you for your respond. Oh, by no means I meant to dismiss Steppe to find room for 2nd Talon, there are boardstates where the Steppe is the one and only key to victory and Talon can't do it. I'm just delighted that we suddenly got a tutorable bait against Karakas or Terminus. Definitively it's a matter of meta. And find a room is difficult. Although we are probably the most self-tutorable deck in legacy and we've already thrown away the '60-card maindeck count is-a-must' rule...:)

@@chronomoon Yeah :) and, well, Insidious Fungus is probably the new Liberator, with Arboreal Grazer's ability as a third option (and draw-a-card is still a miracle for playable green card). It's bowmaster-proof and for the same mana investment as previous options to destroy art/ench - with the possibility to land it on T1 and destroy something on T2 even without Mox.

I do play Pre Modern when there is an opportunity, the only format where I can win with Aluren:) And I understand that banning Grief won't solve what some people see as the fundametal problems with Legacy. With that said, I'm not sure I like banning Grief. I agree with you that the format adapts and solves problems on it's own if it's cards are not to broken. If anything we should look at unbanns (Zirda, Mind Twist, Frantic Search, Earthcraft). I do also enjoy the format right now, as a GWx Depths player not facing control and fast combo feels great and I think the upcomning bann will make our deck worse against the field. I plan to do a video talking through the consequences of the bann when I know what cards are banned.

One thing i like about chant is that i can be extra LQR for completely protected wins vs control. Like chant on their upkeep make ML then untap and have LQR at the ready
