Finally got "Exhort the Risen" to succeed, and it matters in this fight since it prevents Ansur from using "Gather power" at low HP although "Unrelenting storm" will still proc on death (in Tactician it prevents him from flying altogether.)

Doing this fairly early into Act III to get the best offhand dagger Rhapsody and to ascend Astarion. I stacked initiative on the relevant characters to guarantee going first since he's one of the fastest enemies in the game. I planned on locking him down with Exhort the Risen but it didn't work out this time. Having a full light cleric here is very valuable esp. for Daylight and Spirit Guardian...

Arguably one of the hardest fights in the game... I did it fairly early into Act III this run in order to gather enough inspiration for the Mirror of Loss religion check for three of my characters. It's manageable if you can kite the enemies and group them up by the stairs. Probably could have used a scroll of Sleet Storm to make some of them fall and waste their turns. The description of her legendary action is misleading. She can use it on herself, not just on her allies. Some thing weird is going on with the collision in this room. I don't know why the computer wouldn't let me target certain enemies with ranged attacks when visually it looks like they should be targetable. Also Astarion's jump got eaten by the wall for some reason (8:08)

I decided not to talk Ketheric to death because it allowed me to clear the adds and set up the second phase against just the Apostle. Fire sorcerer single-target damage via Scorching Ray really shines here as his physical resistance limits my archers.

If it was Shadowheart it's to save her reaction for Warding Flare. Also, he's immune to phys damage for the first 3 rounds so it wouldn't matter anyway

Phase 2 is just absurd. I can deal with phase 1 perfectly, but the rest of the fight 💀💀💀 took my good 40 attempts

Beg for mercy (I used a big shield + poise tear and some stuff to boost your stamina - it makes you able to tank the hits. Or tank the two first hits and roll INTO the last cross hit.)
My setup is based on bursting him down... I take extra damage due to talisman+armor but I can tank the attack at full HP. I'll get him soon though, full fight will be posted

@@maelstrrom2824 You asked, I answered, You gotta learn the pattern and get better at it, Took me around a 100 tries and made me farm a few more scadutree fragments (15 IIRC) and using a Big hammer for big staggers every so often
