Oh gosh. I have about 16 or 20 translations (including some really old ones pre-KJV), but came to distrust a lot of translations when I discovered that in SOME of them once in a while the translators "fudge" due to their own prejudice on what a particular verse means. I ended up doing a LOT of research for nearly 10 years before feeling ready again to collect other translations than the KJV and a very few others. There are some I won't touch, (the ones where a certain "group" CHANGED the Bible, such as the Jehovah's Witnesses' "New World Translation" (and others with a bias I absolutely disagree with, including Scofield's bibles -- what a shock to see how that bible changed people's interpretation of scripture). I DO have bibles where I don't agree with some of the Scofield-influenced beliefs of the commentators. I have learned to "live with it" for a great part. Some NEW ones I have been getting are amazing and put out book by book (not entire Bibles) giving a lot of truth that has been hidden for centuries, all having a subtitle saying "The Levite Bible." Only for those ready to see things very differently than they have been told their whole lives -- but which do NOT contradict the Bible and even explain it more.

This video is 3 years old but I watched it. With that being said a book I recommend is "How to read the Bible for its worth" By Gordon Fee and Douglas Stuart. It has changed the way I read and understand The Bible. Also another good one is "How to Choose a Translation for All Its Worth: A Guide to Understanding and Using Bible Version" by Gordon Fee & Mark Strauss. The best Bible is the one your going to read often and want read. I also recommend a reading plan like reading the Bible in one year plans. They are all over the place. The Bible Recap is another good source. There is also shorter reading plans. Don't just loosely read the Bible. Have some kind of plan.

Oooo....please look into and research the Message before reading it. It's actually not a translation. Eugene Peterson actually just rewrote the Bible how he thought it should be written. (He claimed that God gave him a full revelation on how to rewrite it) He also has no formal training in any of the ancient languages of the Bible. (Just wanted to warn you! Please research before reading! God bless! ✝️🎉)

Hello which Bible would you recommend with a similar layout to the Jesus Bible but with a font larger than 9.5 I just received the Jesus Bible NIV and I’m so disappointed that the scripture text is too small.😢
