Better check that MAF next time! Lol my first race in my own car was at Martin County Speedway. And my first night happened to be a bomber special and they got to qualify! I rolled out on that track at 15 years old and picked up the throttle. That sbc started singing proudly down that back stretch! My world was in total bliss! I would have had a giant smile but i was concentrating with the focus of someone leading the final lap at the Indy 500. And boom! The engine went suddenly silent. I hit the brakes and stopped it just before turn 3. Checked the switch. It was on. Hit that start button. The engine whirled over at the speed of electricity...the 12v in the starter. Lol no start. Junk cranked and cranked as the stands and the pits and every offical watched and waited. Nothing. The wire going to the HEI distributor had fallen off. Thats the most embarrassed i have ever been. And was high on the angry list too! But you can bet in the subsequent 32 years absolutely no car of mine or from my shop ever had a dizzy wire come loose.

These cars take a very different style of driving to make them work. The slowest thing Kyle ever drives is a midget and they still make almost 500hp and he rarely drives one of those. A really good 15 yr old kid in his 4th season will beat him every time.

Dude! Have you ever seen the carnatourus? Where was that....oh at Rockingham! Had to be the rock cause i watched it with Kurt Bush's wife! Not kidding! Kurt raced the kimmel nats with us at Rockingham. The car was an old taurus cup car cut up to look like a dinosaur with a big tail flopping around on a suspension spring!
