My dad passed on October 9th, and he was the biggest ND football fan, possibly ever. What can’t be overlooked is the fact that the lads have ripped off 7 in row since then. NOW. I’ve been to dozens of home games, and even went on family vacations for bowl games in the late 80’s, early 90’s. But my very first game was two weeks before my 6th birthday in 1987. Just me and my dad. They beat Alabama 37-6, and I remember asking my dad why they were throwing oranges on the field after the game. It would appear as though we have come full circle.
*orange peels
REMEMBER WHEN THEY USED TO SHOW THE NATIONAL ATHEM EVERY GAME ON TV THEY NEED TO START DOING THAT AGAIN 🤔 NO AMERICAN PRIDE ANYMORE ITS SAD IN ALL OF SPORTS !! GO IRISH ☘️ GREAT VIDEO
@@adambowers496 They do a great job with the national anthem here. It is definitely part of the pageantry of Notre Dame football. I originally had the entire anthem program in the video but decided to cut it back to just the last half & flyover to keep the video a reasonable length.
@insidetheparkwithemilyandb7350 i know they do a great job at the game but what I'm saying is they never show it on TV anymore
They should invest in putting in stadium seating with all the cha-ching they're getting from the nbc tv contract. That would make the game experience much better. Also improve food concessions.
Hey Ben love your video but next time splurge on better seats.
@@Tommy-l4l8q Thanks for watching. Yeah, we went with the visiting team tickets UVA provided, we didn’t know about that big flag pole till after we had them in hand. We know for the next time.
I hope you got there early enough to take your time exploring the campus grounds, especially in the central "God Quad" where the Dome and the beautiful Sacred Heart Cathedral are located. There is a group of band members who do about a 20 minutes of music called Trumpets Over the Dome, where the band guys play the fight song, other ND football classics and the alma mater. They line up around the multiple levels of the Golden Dome and the spectators are on the bottom floor looking up and you hear the trumpets just reverberating in that beautiful Dome. They then join up with the rest of the Band and march from the Dome to the Stadium when the players walk occurs. The whole team goes to Mass at Sacred Heart (team only) on Sat morning after their team breakfast. Also hope you had time to hit a few of the watering holes across from the Stadium or walk through the tailgate areas a bit. That's a spectacle too, especially when its a huge rivalry game like USC, Michigan etc. Good video!!
@@kbrewski1 Yes, we walked all through the campus, it was really beautiful how all the buildings blend in together. We went to the UVA alumni tailgate near the south parking lots and had the opportunity to walk through the ND fan tailgates. Definitely NFL level tailgating with some RVs & old converted school buses. I never knew about the post game mass. They start announcing it at halftime & there was a really good number of people who walked out of the game and headed over for mass. Certainly unique.
Love the game day experience at Notre Dame as there's so much more than the game itself to do like checking out the bascillica, the grotto, band concert on the steps of Bond Hall, Trumpets under the dome, steak sandwiches, player walk, etc. Was interesting to hear you say it was loud. I wonder if it's because you were on the end with the jumbotron where a lot of the sound comes from. A lot of ND fans say its too much of an older crowd and they are kind of laid back and the stadium doesn't get loud enough to provide a real home field advantage.
When they added that huge electronic scoreboard and went to heavy loud rock music to get fans "pumped up", then the fog and pyrotechnics, and the sacrilege of that plastic field turf, I really was angry. Plus the huge additions on both sides just killed the perfect symmetry of the old bowl. While I still enjoy going to games once in awhile, we didn't need all the loud obnoxious music to get us loud. I loved the thick green natural grass. I was at many epic games as a student and alum. The noise levels of the 88 Catholics vs Convicts Game vs #1 Miami will never be topped, and that's when ND Stadium only held 60,000 in the original Rockne Stadium. Same with the 1993 Game of the Century beatdown of #1 FLA ST. 3-4 hours of nonstop roars and pulsating crowds. Saw Joe Montana's senior year as a freshman, saw the renewal of the Michigan rivalry in 1978 after they refused to play ND in the 40s, 35 years or so. Saw the 1st ever night game vs Michigan in 1982, back then ND didn't have lights!! So much to pack into one day. It's really ideal for a 2 day visit because GameDay is so busy. And you have to leave time for a trip to Rocco's Pizza!!
Well done!
The worst NFL stadium in the league
Some teams like the browns think that they are are true rivals, but as a Ravens fan I can tell you, there is no team hated more than you Steelers. That being said, much respect. Mike Tomlin is a genius
I loved Globe Life Field when I visited it in June 2024!
@@David_Lerner Thanks for watching. It really is a very pleasant place to watch a game. The more I think about the series we saw there the more I feel like I should move it up my rankings. I should have another video out next week on the All You Can Eat seats at Globe Life.
As a lifelong fan of the Oakland A's (I was there opening night in 1968) I want to thank you for this video. You did a beautiful and classy job on it. I moved to Las Vegas 20 years ago, but I am NOT looking forward to seeing the Las Vegas A's. I love the Coliseum! I am going to miss it! All the memories! Thanks for making this video!
@@NoneBusiness-o2d Thanks for the feedback. When I scheduled this trip to Oakland I knew the ballpark had seen better days, I was just checking it off for a final visit. But once I pulled in the parking lot, started talking with fans and staff & then walking around the ballpark, it really did get a little sentimental to me. Thanks for watching.
Oakland is getting baseball again in the future, the Oakland Ballers.
I've watched a number of Goodbye Oakland themed videos over the past few months and this is one of the best. You did a great job of presenting the situation in a very objective way without getting caught up in the muck & mire. The situation in Oakland is not new, it has been going on for years. Between greedy owners and inept city/county leadership, there is plenty of blame to go around. But Oakland fans are the ones who ultimately suffer and that's really the shame of it all. My biggest regret is that a once proud major league city will forever be known as the place that had everything and lost all of it. And to anyone who thinks Oakland will eventually get teams back, I'm sorry but I don't believe it will happen. I hope I will be proven wrong some day. Good luck to the Oakland faithful. There's one thing that can't be taken from you- great memories.
@@ChrisDavis-zt6zb Thanks for watching.
NA NA NA NA HEY HEY HEY GOOD BYE!!!
It's always hard to say goodbye. Got to see the A's and Raiders play at the Coliseum when I lived in San Jose and I'm glad I did. The A's deserve better and I wish them well in LV.
@@anthonyriche552 - Thanks for watching the video. I really struggled making this video. On one hand I was sad for the hardcore A’s fans & the people who have worked at the Coliseum for years. On the other hand I felt like beyond the loyal A’s fanbase there just wasn’t the incentive for ownership and the political establishment to come to a positive outcome. Honestly the business community and larger population in the area have not prioritized supporting professional sports. That all said, as a ballpark chaser I am excited that we are going to have a new ballpark in Las Vegas to experience and I am excited to see the new ballpark & see how competitive that organization can be with more revenue to play with.
@@insidetheparkwithemilyandb7350 Yeah, there hasn't been much of a civic or public fight to keep them there. I'm a Mets fan myself but I've always liked the Oakland A's since I was a kid. They've had so many great players and of course the 80s A's were amazing. I agree Oakland might not see another major sports team in a long while if not forever. They've lost their NHL, NFL, NBA and now MLB team. I can't think of another city that's done that. But at least they live on as the A's in another city. They should fare well in Las Vegas!
You should go to Blacksburg and do Lane Stadium.

Dodger Dogs were good when Farmer John made the Dodger Dogs, they changed the makers of the Dodger Dogs and now they are not good, they use to be amazing.

Is it wrong to think Petco is somewhat.....bland. I don't know why. Not sure if it's missing something, or has too many disconnected features? Maybe I'll visit someday and change my mind.
I have been to all of the Texas League ballparks, as well as some of the central southern PCL ballparks... I wish I could visit all of the minor league ballparks though, but at my age I do not feel comfortable anymore driving more than 12 hours away from home....
Thanks for making this video! Very informative for a trip I have coming up.

The wife and I have tickets for the Memorial Day weekend with the Baltimore Orioles vs Chicago White Sox game. First time for both of us in this park. I'll give you an update after the game. How strict are they with the "bag policy"?

If the White Sox were a contending ball club every season there would be minimal complaining
I agree with if you have a ticket you should be able to go anywhere in the park to check it out. I always sit up high behind the plate not because they are cheaper but because I can see the entire field and “coach” in my mind before each pitch can’t do that many other places in the park. I do however really like Nationals park because outiside of Seattle I’m not real big on the new expensive ballparks.
as a sox fan. i love this park and ive been too alot of other parks. just bc you didnt buy a lower level ticket bc you didnt do minimal research it beforehand thats on you. fuck jerry and fuck you. sell the team but keep it here in bridgeport so this coward wont come back yeehaw!! go white sox!!
Just heard that Capitals and Wizards can’t leave D.C. until 2047
Remains to be seen. The DC Attorney General has stated that in a letter that reads like a political statement as a condition from some updates that were made at Capital One several years ago, but the lease and debt service only bind the teams till 2027. Important to note that even if the Caps & Wiz leave DC, Monumental Sports & Entertainment had expressed a willingness to continue to operate the arena with other events past 2027. Virginia General Assembly has hit some roadblocks on their funding efforts in Alexandria for the new complex. So much is still up in the air.
It’s real nice up there been there once
Thank you
Really? D ick F uck field is a pretty weird name for a stadium.
Very well done . Have been there numerous times and you covered it well .
I always grew up with MiLB meaning 2 things. Minor League Baseball, and Man, I love Baseball. And both things are very true
Thanks for your review! Longtime Cardinal fan here and I’ve never tried the rooftop. Now I might!!! 😊👍🏼
Thanks for watching. The rooftop was definitely a neat experience, my biggest advice, do a night game. It got very hot during the day game.
Go Rockies!
As another Yankee fan who grew up with the Old Stadium, I respect your honesty. And they also play Sinatra to death at the end of every game.
Thanks for watching. Yeah, I miss the old Yankee Stadium. Lots of memories in that old ballpark. I think the new park is really nice, it’s biggest problem is that people like me have that connection to the old place, I also think that Citi Field overshadows the new Yankee Stadium in design, so that marks it down. I still think the new Yankee Stadium is a top 15 park though.
Wall fits the Orioles perfectly.Triple or inside park is most exciting. Or the cat and moise w runner pitcher hitter and catcher. But the stupid clock changes.that. baseball.since 2017 has been a mess, wirh ugly net, , leds boards ads on everuthing, and Junky new uniforms which are mismatched. Tje whole wwf thing with flashing lights as players come in is really silly and dangerous too. Orioles angelos too cheap to print schedules or real tix, but spet a boatload of money to.push Commie agendas and paint a homo nymn flag in the of. And what's up w those horrendous fruity pebble Innwr city jerseys. Baseball going down a bad path.
I didn’t love the new wall at first, but it is growing on me. Can’t wait to see what the O’s do on Camden Yards renovations now that the lease is done.
I remember old Cominski Park as a youth, and it was fun to visit. I attended a game the first year at the new park. What a letdown! Beyond the outfield wall is not visually appealing, so what did they do? Build big walls for advertising. It gives me the feeling we are sitting in a cardboard box with the lid open. The first balcony was so steep that I was afraid to jump for a foul ball two seats down. 8:30 Yeah, I saw a major league game, but the experience disappointed me. I am sure they have addressed some of my issues, but I have not returned yet. I have to admit that Wrigley is a much more fun experience.
Really good video!
Thanks for watching. PNC is a great ballpark, easy to review!
Was the radio broadcast delayed and/or distracting? I like the idea, but I feel like the delay could get annoying.
As a Braves fan, I was skeptical when this was first announced, but I absolutely love the place. Not sure about the hate on the Battery. During the World Series run it was one of the best environments anywhere and now every team in the MLB wants their own version.
Thanks for watching. Don’t get me wrong, the Battery is a nice place to spend some time. The people watching alone is worth it. I just love those areas like Wrigleyville, Landsdown Street, Half Street or River Ave & 161st where the ballparks are part of the fabric of a neighborhood. Nothing wrong with a Battery or Ballpark Village, that seems to be the trend.
It really isint too bad I don’t think rfk stadium would definitely be better it just isint in the greatest location
paradise by the dashboard light
M&T Bank seems to have aged a lot better than some of its contemporaries, especially Nissan and FedEx, but also Cleveland and Carolina. Raymond James also seems to hold up though. Interesting how things built at the same time with presumptively similar design features can age so differently depending on varying factors like environment and upkeep.
As a Steeler fan it pains me to say it, but M&T is really well done & well maintained. Ravens & state of Maryland about to embark on a $600M renovation, should be really interesting to see how that works out. Thanks for watching.
@@insidetheparkwithemilyandb7350 You going to the game on the 7th?
@theparkwithemilyandb7350 Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti has invested $175 Million into the stadium adding banks of escaltors to all levels, I especially like the new entrance A-2 which has a bank going directly to the upper level. They will do the renovations in the offseason. I also saw Army-Navy there, one of the best bucket list sporting events I've been to. When the Ravens had their last Super Bowl Celebration, they had a big rally in the stadium, I went via MARC's Camden Line from DC, which I wish they would run on weekends, like they do the Penn line. They used to run when Oriole Park opend up for O's games but they couldn't gaurantee you'd make the last DC Metrorail train home and CSX Freight is more profitable. After the overcrowding, all events held there are ticketed including the free training camp practice at the stadium for safety reasons.
please make a longer walkthrough video of the stadium concourses
