Not sure if this is something you may find useful, but you can use a small magnet to hold down your nickel strips on the cells when doing your first spot weld. Also it is a good idea to cover the cells with painters tape on the section you're done with the spot welds when doing the secondary side, as if you drop a nickel strip, it will not create a short (you probably know this...) Cheers
