When I use the Take Recorder, the custom depth effect (xray) doesn't appear when I preview the take. Any ideas? It looks good in gameplay as I'm doing the recording, but after it only shows the "normal" gameplay viewport. Do I need to add something to Sequencer?
I'm unfortunately unfamiliar with sequencer for the most part, but the effect will need to be applied to your sequencer camera as well. I suggest creating a unique camera actor for use in sequencer and setting up the x-ray component for it. I believe you can call/setup events from sequencer linked to actors, allowing you to toggle it on and off from sequencer.

I fixed it. Or rather, it seems my level have some weird static meshes that don't become see-through, for some weird reason.
So, I had meshes that had their custom depth set, already. I'll work around this.
My characters have the correct settings and the xray effect is being show, but not when they are hidden by a mesh. I have the Stylized Rendering System, might that be a conflict? So I tried to remove some custom depth to meshes, but still not showing the characters behind the mesh. Again, when they are out in the open the effect looks as it should.
Am I able to control how far the Sliding occurs or is there somewhere to Adjust that almost like a SlideDistance or something? I already love the default though but just asking.
Ohhh nice, seems like a good starting point, and I really like how far the sliding goes when running too. That's exactly what I am looking for!

when i check the custom depth pass my item has a white outline all the time and can be seen across me map any ideas?
There is no functionality included that would add a white outline to the custom depth pass. However, it sounds like there could be a conflict with other systems in your project. Are you using any additional systems that outline objects?

hello, really liked this asset, but i'm having an hard time disabling it during runtime with a blueprint, how do you recommend doing that?
Thank you! A bulk of the effect is handled by camera tweaks and Post Process Effects. I would recommend disabling it by removing the 3D widget text's visibility, grabbing a reference to your camera, getting its post process settings, drag off a "Set Members in Post Process Settings". If you open the Initialize VHS function you could reverse engineer which post process settings to override, but a bulk of the effect is done through shaders, so overriding the post process materials is most important. loving this asset, but how do i make the overlay text not affected by the DoF? mine is all blurry when depth of field is activated
Thank you! The text is rendered using a 3D widget in front of the camera so that any post process or camera effects are applied to it as well, this unfortunately includes DOF. You could render the text as a 2D widget to negate this issue, but the VHS shaders would no longer apply to the text.

@@FearForgeStudio You could try using a custom depth mask, but this would likely result in a similar look to using a 2D widget. You could also experiment with changing the 3D widget's blending mode in the player blueprint. Aside from this I'm not sure.

I'm confused why in the video, the doors have clear glass, but for some reason, the doors in the marketplace after purchasing have non see through glass
It was updated to reflect the content present in our other product "Pro Horror Doors", which is now included in this template. The glass material is the one featured in Unreal's default Starter Content that can be added to any project if you'd still like to use it :)

Chromatic aberration and a jacked up camera for does not equal premium. This is a basic interactivity template with a bad camera.

It is unfortunately only for Unreal, as it was built with Unreal's native blueprint visual scripting. I've spotted a few Unity VHS shader tutorials here on YT though, good luck!
Works with third person character?
I watched it and thought cool. Then I scrolled down and realised you were charging money for something so basic. Everything in this showcase can be taught in under an hour. Plus Horror Engine is free and includes way more than this. Shop around before you buy people.
the vignet is too strong should have been more invisible for immersion but looks good
This looks good, but for a proper bodycam kit you really need hands and weapon. Aiming needs to be improved also. The game Unrecord is what looks best. I'd buy it if you were able to create the same look and feel as Unrecord or Deppart.

love your asset packs. Im just having some strange issues with the doors as im trying to scale them up to fit the house ive already made but when i open the door in game it goes back to its original scale, is there anything i can do to fix this?

Hey, I just bought the component and think it looks awesome. I added it to an existing project and the existing BP_FirstPersonCharacter. Everything works fine except the vhs_stamp overlay and date as well as time, any ideas?
It could be the FOV is affecting it, the stamp & time use a 3D widget sized to fit the screen. It uses a 3D widget so the post process materials will also affect the widget, unfortunately 2D widgets render on top of any post process. I bought this and have a some questions: I want to use this for another project I have created but don't want to use the VHS gamemode that you use in your project. Is that possible? Also, I want to apply the effect to a sequencer that I created, is that possible? If so, how do you do both things? Lastly, will you be creating a tutorials on how to achieve these things if possible? Thank you!
You should be able to use the VHS component independently from the example gamemode by adding the component to your desired player character or by adding the example character to your custom gamemode. As far as sequencer goes I'm not certain as it was designed with player characters in mind. You could add the included post process materials to your sequencer camera as a start, but elements such as the 3D timestamp widget will be absent.
